A Basic Study on Proper Straight Route Distance under Marine Bridge using ES Model (ES모델을 이용한 해상교량 하부 적정 직선항로 길이에 대한 기초 연구)

  • Keeping a proper straight route length under the marine bridge is one of the important factors for the safe passage of ships. However, according to port and harbor design standards, there is only a constant guideline of 8 times the length of the marine bridge underpass. On this study, we used the ES model to determine the ratio of risk to the route width, traffic volume, the degree of curvature of the route, and the length of the straight route in order to derive the optimal straight route distance. As a result, the risk ratio decreased by 2.27% as the route distance increased from 3L to 10L when the degree of curvature of the route was $45^{\circ}$. The risk associated with curvature was found to be 4.83% when the bending degree was changed from $0^{\circ}$ to $45^{\circ}$ in the case of 3L length. In addition, it was confirmed that the risk ratio according to the degree of curvature of the route and the straight route was reduced by 1.45% at maximum under the condition that the width of the line was 400m and the number of the vessels generated per hour was 20. It was verified that a straight route distance more than a certain length is needed depending on the congestion degree and the degree of curvature of the route when constructing the marine bridge.

A Study on Evaluating Length Limit in Tangent Section of Highway Based on Driver's Workload (운전자 작업부하를 고려한 최장 허용 직선길이 결정에 관한 연구)

  • Driver's psychophysiological load is one of the key measures for evaluating the safety of the highway. The purpose of this study is to propose and to test the methodology of evaluating the length limit of tangent section using driver's psychophysiological load. Driver's psychophysiological data is represented by the data acquire by frontal and occipital lobe. In order to compare the differences between tangent segments and the orders, real road driving experiments were performed. We collected psychophysiological data during the operation of vehicles. The experimental data were analyzed using FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) and relative power spectrum tools. These routine produces the beta value which is a major factor in consideration of driver's condition. The results in this study are summarized as follows: (1) A new methodology of evaluating the length limit in tangent section of highway using driver's psychophysiological load was proposed. (2) It was observed that driver's work load at tangent section was three times lower than that at the other section types. The beta value at tangent section is 2.219, while that at general section is 0.821. (3) It was observed that the driver's work load was significantly dropped to 0.428 after the continuous driving of 4.2km tangent section. (4) Based on the experimental subjects(from 27 Years to 31). we suggest that 30 times of design speed(3.0 km) could be acceptable as the length limit of tangent section in highway rather than the Previous limit which is 20 times of design speed(2.0km).

Behavior of Elbows with Ovalization of the Tangential Pipes (직선배관 타원변형을 고려한 엘보우 거동)

  • The effects of the ovalization of the tangential pipes to the elbows are analyzed. The geometric nonlinear behaviors of the elbows are shown with the element capable of ovalization. The relationships between the length of the tangential pipes in the models and the bend angles of the elbows are analyzed to supplement the ASME code. And the proper length of the tangential pipes for the elbow models are suggested.

The Extraction of Table Lines and Data in Document Image (문서영상에서 표 구성 직선과 데이터 추출)

  • We should extract lines and data which consist of the table in order to classify the table region and analyze its structure in document image. But it is difficult to extract lines and data exactly because the lines are cut and their lengths are changed, or characters or noises are merged to the table lines. These problems result from the error of image input device or image reduction. In this paper, we propose the better method of extracting lines and data for table region classification and structure analysis than the previous ones including commercial softwares. The prposed method extracts horizontal and vertical lines which consist of the table by the use of one dimensional median filter. This filter not only eliminates the noises which attach to the line and the lines which are orthogonal to the filtering direction, but also connects the cut line of which the gap is shorter than the length of the filter tap in the process of extracting lines to the filtering direction. Furthermore, texts attached to the line are separated in the process of extracting vertical lines. This is an example of ABSTRACT format.

Finding the true length of a line and an ellipse from optical Hough transform results (광학적 Hough변환 결과로부터 직선과 타원의 실제 길이 추출)

  • In this paper, we propose a new method of finding the true length of the line and long axis of the ellipse at the $\theta$=$\theta$o+ 90$^{\circ}$ and short axis of the ellipse at the $\theta$ = $\theta$o from the Hough transform (HT) results. Through the simulations, we showed that the true length of the line and ellipse could be obtained with 98 % accuracy by using the distance from the maximum envelope to the minimum envelope. To compare the simulation results with the experimental results, we performed optical experiments by using a HT CGH filter. Through the experiments, we showed that our results were very similar to those of the simulation.

  • 하천에서 위어 하류단의 세굴은 매우 중요한 현상이며 위어 형상에 따른 수리학적 흐름특성이 세굴거리 및 세굴심에도 영향을 미치므로, 적절한 하상보호공 설계를 위해 다양한 위어 하류단의 세굴 규모 및 세굴 형상을 산정하는 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 사다리꼴 래버린스 위어를 적용하여 일반적인 직선형 위어와 비교하였으며, 3차원 수치모의를 통해 하류단의 세굴 규모를 분석하였다. 현재 세굴 방지를 위하여 설치되는 위어 하류부 물받이 및 하상보호공의 설계 기준은 월류흐름에 의해 발생되는 하류부 세굴영향에 대한 고려가 미흡하며, 대부분 설계자료가 광정위어 및 예연 위어 형태만을 고려하고 있어 위어의 형상변화에 따른 고려 또한 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 하류부 세굴방지공의 안전하고 경제적인 설계를 위하여 위어의 형상 변화에 따른 위어 하류부 세굴 특성 분석에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구에서 적용한 래버린스(labyrinth) 위어는 수로 내에 설치된 횡방향 직선형 위어의 단면 형상을 변경하여 월류길이를 증가시킨 긴 마루(long crested) 위어 형태의 일종이다. 일반적으로 래버린스 위어는 월류량 증대, 수질개선 및 수심유지 효과가 필요한 수공구조물에 이용되어 하천에 적용될 경우, 관련 수공구조물의 수심 확보 측면에서 기여할 수 있는 구조물로 잘 알려져 있다. 수로폭과 유입유량을 알고 있을 경우 기존 연구자들에 의해 제시한 공식에 의해 직선형 위어의 하류단의 세굴거리와 세굴심을 산정할 수 있으며, 본 연구에서 제시한 세굴거리 비와 세굴심 비를 통해 래버린스 위어의 세굴거리 및 세굴심을 예측할 수 있었다. 분석결과 래버린스 위어의 하류단의 세굴거리는 직선형 위어에 비해 감소하고 세굴심은 증가하였으며, 총 마루길이 당 유입유량과 유입유량 조건에 따른 세굴거리 비 및 세굴심 비 변화를 통해 통수능 및 래버린스 위어의 마루길이 변화에 따른 세굴 영향범위를 조절할 수 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 추후 다양한 유량조건과 확폭비를 고려한 연구를 수행한다면 래버린스 위어의 마루길이에 따라 하상보호공 설계시 중요한 인자인 세굴거리와 세굴심을 조절할 수 있으며, 위어 형상에 따른 하류단 세굴 규모를 산정과 더불어 확장된 하상보호공 설계자료로 이용할 수 있을 것이다.

Magnetic Properties of Fe-Pt Nanowires with Linear and Zigzag Structures (전이금속 Fe-Pt 나노선의 자기적 성질)

  • We investigated the structural md magnetic properties of Fe-Pt nanowires with linear and zigzag structures by using first-principle calculational methods. Structural degrees of freedom are optimized, the bond lengths and bond angles are determined, magnetic moments, spin density, and density of states are calculated. Results show that the zigzag structure is more stable than the linear one, and has a longer bond length and smaller magnetic moments for both Fe and Pt atoms.

  • In order to save energy, a lot of research has been conducted to develop a high-efficiency heat pump. Research to reduce or eliminate the occurrence of frost in the outdoor unit coil is also being conducted at the same time. A constant temperature chamber was constructed that allows experimentation under the same conditions as in the natural state so that frost does not occur in the outdoor unit of the heat pump regardless of the season. In order to verify the validity of the experimental apparatus, a simulation was conducted by dividing the straight length of the duct in front of the outdoor unit in the constant temperature chamber, which is the experimental apparatus, into three conditions. As a result, it was found that a straight space must be secured 10 times the diameter of the duct.

A study on the electromigration phenomena in Al-1%Si thin film interconnections with Ti underlayers (Ti underlayer를 갖는 AI-1%Si 박막배선에서의 일렉트로마이그레이션 현상에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, the lifetime dependence as a function of the line length of Al-1%Si thin film interconnections due to electromigration in semiconductor devices was studied. Al-1%Si thin film interconnections with a pattern of straight type were formed by using a standard photolithography process. The test patterns manufactured have line lengths in the range of 100 to 1600 $mu extrm{m}$. Al-1%Si thin film interconnections with Ti underlayers showed longer lifetime than those without Ti underlayers. Ti underlayers are believed to improve electromigration resistance resulting in a longer lifetime in Al-1%Si thin film interconnections. The dependence of lifetime on the line length in Al-1%Si/Ti thin film interconnections shows a saturation tendency near 800 $\mu\textrm{m}$ line length.
