  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the awareness and usability of descending life lines and simple descending life lines for fire situations in the accommodation of the public officials who are responsible for supervising the installation and maintenance of descending life lines and simple descending life lines. The main results of the study are summarized as follows. First, in comparison of the ability to distinguish between descending life lines and simple descending life lines, the majority of female public officers in general administrative services do not have the ability to distinguish between descending lifelines and simple descending life lines, so they should be able to improve their ability to distinguish descending life lines. Also, institutional strategies are needed to regularly receive education through the Safety Experience Center in order to prevent safety accidents such as falling in emergency situations. Second, as a result of verifying reusability of simple descending life lines by gender and occupation, most public officers with the exception of half of the firefighting officers were analyzed as having no ability to reuse the simple descending life lines. Therefore, it is necessary to change the relevant laws so that only the installation of descending life lines which can be used continuously is permitted, except for the simple descending life lines among the evacuation instruments to be additionally installed in each room of the accommodation. Third, in terms of the ability to perceive the maximum load of the descending life lines according to occupation, the perception ability of the rescuers was the highest and the perception ability of the fire service personnel was the lowest. In order to improve the perception abilities of the fire service personnel, it is necessary to strengthen the theoretical and practical education of descending life lines in collective education such as the command-enhancing training which is regularly carried out in fire service academy. Lastly, it is believed that it is more effective to conduct the experience training of the descending life lines by imagining the fire in accomodations rather than other facilities, because it is the location where fires are actually seen the most.

  • In 2015 the Department of Education announced that it will make downsizing efforts by recommending classified downsizing ratio according to the evaluation of universities for active support toward autonomous efforts of universities with the possibilities of reform and qualitative structural reform for customized human resource cultivation according to the social demands. This is the preemtive structural reform preparing against the rapid decrease of the number of students, and the preparation for changing into competitive universities so that customized human resource that is needed in the society can be trained. Security Science Departments of Korea, first established in 1996, need changes in curriculum in order to prepare for the fourth revolution of the future, and are stagnant on the education goal and employment course. Therefore the adoption of related certificates, curriculum, NCS, and professional curriculum is needed. For example, Hansei University, Chung-Ang University, and Far East University have established the Department of Industrial Security, and Kyonggi University and Sungshin Women's University have established the Department of Convergence Security. Also, Konkuk University has established the Graduate School of Security and Disasters, the Graduate School of Information and Policy, the Graduate School of Criminal Justice, Gachon University the Graduate School of National Security, Sungkyunkwan University the Graduate School of Strategic Studies. This shows that the field of Security Science should not settle for itself. This article analyzes current curriculum and subjects of security, police, industrial security, military related academic departments of key universities. It is necessary to prepare for the future by predicting the change from the merge of academic departments and the demands of the times. As technical colleges are adopting NCS, this is the time to seek for systematic collaboration between universities and technical colleges and between industry, government, and academida.

  • The National Competency Standard (NCS) is being implemented on the basis of a college of higher education. The college offers intensive education by organizing three areas of knowledge, skills and attitudes so that students can perform their full capacity at the same time as graduating in industrial field. Health Department at the College has been training for a variety of medical personnel, including medical technician regions. Especially, the medical technician and medical sector must be licensed to work in the medical field. Therefore, passing the national examination license is a prerequisite for employment. In this study, the health law scores of the third grade students (about 200 students) of the radiology department of D College were analyzed at weekly intervals. The weekly score acquisition can be predict the pattern of student class achievement of individual students. Furthermore, these results can predict the possibility of passing the radiation license examination for individual students.

  • Objective : The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of intensive one-day training on Movement Assessment Battery for Children-2 screening developmental coordination disorder. Methods : We provided intensive one-day training which combined lecture and practice on MABC-2 assessment tools for 33 trainees. Interrater reliability was calculated by using Intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) with the raw score of results scored simultaneously by experts and trainees of MABC-2. Results : The 33 female trainees with an average of five years and three months of experience and less experience using motor skill assessment tools scored raw score while watching the performance scenes of normal children. The results of the ICC between experts and training participants in MABC-2 obtained a high confidence 0.95 and above (p<.001). Conclusion : Clinicians who participated in one-day training seems to use MABC-2 effectively. Through this, one-day training seems to be effective in acquiring new motor skill assessment tools.

  • This paper describes a one of HRD Program focus on ICT technology called TOPCIT as that companies and higher education providers voiced the need for a standardized, objective competency index that can reinforce the on-site competency of college students majoring in ICT/SW. And reduce the gap between the viewpoints of industrial and academic circles regarding the qualifications of a competent specialist in ICT field. For this reason, T.OPCIT developed and evaluated a performance-evaluation-centered test designed to diagnose and assess the competency of ICT specialists and SW developers critically needed to perform jobs on the professional frontier. This TOPCIT concept has been promoted not just in KOREA but in many ASEAN countries, e.g Thailand, Nepal, Bhutan, Philippines, Mongolia and Cambodia during the ICTD-USO Forum organised by ITU-ASP.

  • Objective : The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the vocational rehabilitation evaluation tool for the mentally disabled. Methods : For literature search, the Pubmed database was used, and for the analysis, the development year, evaluation method, number of items, scale, and evaluation items were analyzed. In the analysis method, each evaluation item was divided into four categories: function, internal factor, environment, and mental symptom, and the evaluation elements of each evaluation tool were identified. Results : When searching Pubmed through search terms, 161 documents were retrieved. According to the selection method, Griffiths Work Behavior Scale (GWBS), Occupational Functioning Scale (OFS), Social and Occupational Functioning Assessment Scale (SOFAS), Work Ability Index (WAI), Work Behavior Inventory (WBI), Work Environment Impact Scale (WEIS), and Work and Social Adjustment Scale (WSAS) were screened. • The purpose of this study is to develop the competency model of specialized vocational school teachers as admission officers. Whereas professional admission officers deal with a variety of admission activities in universities, teachers are responsible for admission duties in specialized high schools in Korea. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the core competencies required for teachers responsible for admission duties in specialized high school settings. In order to develop a competency model, factor analysis was completed for the survey results of 191 teachers who teach in specialized vocational high schools in Seoul, Korea. For evaluating validity of the competency model, the responses from those who had high experiences in admission duties and the average teachers were compared. As a result, this study identified a total of 14 competencies in three competency areas. The competencies required for specialized high school teachers include responsibilities for admission officers, ethics for evaluators, communication skills, teamwork, understandings of admissions process for specialized vocational high school, developing evaluation criteria, generating interview questions, increasing interrater reliability, interview skills, simultaneous evaluation of interviewees, quantification of evaluation results, synthesis of evaluation results, and decision making skills.
