  • A pneumatic servo valve which is widely applied in industrial field. And It is consist of force motor, spool & sleeve and servo controller. In this study. we developed the force motor which is consume to low power for a pneumatic servo valve. We could reduce the number of turn of the solenoid by using ferromagnetic permanent magnet and took different direction of each other using one coil instead of two coil. we modeled a system consisting of various electro-mechanical subsystems. The appropriateness of the model was verified by simulation. The simulation model resolved the motion of spool, the winding current and the magnetic force. Also, we calculated the displacement and velocity of the spool, flux contour line, b vector. flux density. flux linkage, back EMF etc.

Development of a Direct-Operated Proportional Pressure Reducing Valve for Low-Band Type Active Suspension Control (Low-Band Type 능동형 현가제어를 위한 직동식 전자비례 감압밸브의 개발)

  • In general direct-operated pressure reducing valves have been gardly applied to a dynamic control system such as active suspension control because of their poor control stability. But they are more robust than pilot-operated type and do not need pilot control flow. In this paper development of a new direct-operated proportional pressure reducing valve for low-band type active suspension control is reported. By means of a special damper directly linked to the valve spool, the control stability could be effectively improved without drawback in response time. The linearity error was less than $\pm$3.5%. Applied to an experimental active suspension system the new valve showed the $-90^{\circ}$ phase delay at 4Hz with 20% sinusoidal signal input and could control the suspension system with almost same performance as that with a pilot-operated type valve.

  • For launcher applications, different from other applications, very high flow rate is required which can lead to supply pressure drop against required setting pressure. The supply pressure decrease is closely related to regulator characteristics. In this paper, supply pressure offset is investigated considering regulators as kinds of control systems. Pressure offset of self-operated regulator is analyzed with sensitive parameter defined as the ratio of valve travel to pressure offset. It is shown that pressure offset of self-operating regulator can be improved by incorporating proportional and integral controls and they can be materialized with pilot regulator systems.

  • 밸브 트레인에서 국부 마멸을 줄이기 위한 태핏의 회전은 캠과 태핏의 접촉면에서 태핏속도의 변화를 가져오게 된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 태핏의 회전속도를 캠/태핏 접촉면의 윤활 및 마찰 해석을 바탕으로 해석하고 이에 영향을 미치는 변수인 오프셋 거리, 엔진 회전속도 그리고 태핏과 실린더 헤드사이의 틈새에 대한 영향을 살펴보았다.

  • Electro-pneumatic servo valve is an electro-mechanical device which converts electric signals into a proper pneumatic flow rate or pressure. In order to improve the overall performance of pneumatic servo systems, electro-pneumatic servo valves are required, which have fast dynamic characteristics, no air leakage at a null point, and can be fabricated at a low-cost. The objective of this research is to design and to fabricate a new electro-pneumatic servo valve which satisfies the above-mentioned requirements. In order to design the mechanism of the servo valve optimally, the flow inside the valve depending upon the position of spool was analyzed variously, and on the basis of such analysis results, the valve mechanism, which was formed by combination of the spool and the sleeve, was designed and manufactured. Further, the performance of pneumatic servo valve has been verified through an overall performance test on the developed product.

  • A one-stage direction and flow control valve was studied theoretically and experimentally. A direction and flow control valve maintains a constant flow rate by changing the spool-orifice area under the variation of valve pressure drop, since the spool-orifice area is varied by the action of flowforces on the spool. A direction and flow control valve has the advantage of simple and low-cost structure compared to a conventional flow control valve utilizing a pressure regulating spool which regulates the pressure drop caused by flow through the metering orifice. The static and dynamic characteristics of a one-stage direction and flow control valve was analyzed. Experimental results on the flow control characteristics of the manufactured valve show satisfactory agreement with simulation results.

  • Whine noise in engine oil pump system was issued in developing an engine. Generally, A noise of engine oil pump largely are classified two cases. The first one is a gearing noise caused by relative motion of inner rotor and outer rotor. The other is fluid pulsation noise caused by oil pressure fluctuation. The aim of the paper is to identify a noise mechanism in engine oil pump and improve its Noise. Also, it suggests to the guide line on the design of oil pump.

  • A thrust control valve of a liquid rocket engine plays a role to increase or decrease the thrust of an LRE by modulating the flow rate of propellant into a gas-generator. This paper deals with a flow regulator that has functions of not only modulating thrust but also maintaining constant flow rate regardless of pressure change at inlet or outlet of the flow regulator. A direct acting flow regulator was fabricated and tested for the comparison of experimental and simulation results under steady-state conditions. The drawbacks and limitations of the flow regulator were analyzed. Also the new design of a flow regulator was proposed.
