This paper analyzed the effects the regional competitiveness index on the characteristics of the regional growth. This study divides the regions in the US based on the static and dynamic standard of income for the characteristics of the regional growth. The results of the analysis are as follows. First some regions such as Alaska, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming have higher levels of SCI and both the rate of growth and per capita income than the national average. These are considered prosperous regions based on their high level of SCI. Second, in regards to the relation between the income level and regional competitiveness index for the regional growth, the variables such as human resource, science technology, business incubation, openness, safety and environmental policy are significant. Third, infrastructure, human resource, science technology and openness are the significant variables concerning the relation between the rate of income growth and regional competitiveness index for the regional growth.

국가 간의 자유무역협정을 통한 세계 경제는 통합화를 추구하고, 이러한 결과로 국가 또는 기업 간의 경쟁이 점점 가속화되고 있다. 시대적 Paradigm은 세계 경제의 통합과 경쟁 방식의 변화이며, 이러한 가운데 소비자들은 건강과 Wellbeing에 대한 관심이 혁신적으로 증대되고 있다. 특히 U-Health의 필요성 증대, 지속적인 U-Health 시장 수요의 증가의 전망되고 있으며 고령화 사회로 접어들면서 건강관리 비용이 GDP의 7% 상회할 것으로 예측되고 있다. 따라서 국가는 국가 경쟁력을 위해, 지역은 지역 경쟁력을 위해 U-Health 산업의 육성을 간과할 수 없다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 충북 지역의 독자적 생존노력 강화 차원에서 차별적인 U-Health 서비스의 우수 브랜드 개발을 통하여 지역 경제활성화 방안을 연구하고자 한다. 먼저 충북 지역은 U-Health 분야의 Power Brand 제정을 통한 충북 지역의 U-Health분야의 독자적 경쟁력을 구축할 수 있다. 그렇게 하기 위해서는 U-Health 제품에 대한 효율적 마케팅전략 전개 필요하다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 SWOT 분석을 통한 경쟁력 확보 전략, STP 분석을 통한 지역 산업화 전략, Marketing Mix 전략을 통한 산업의 활성화 전략을 연구하였다.

The purpose of this study was to examine perceptions on the festival competitiveness of festival specialists. Though extant studies for improving competitiveness of local festival is continued, differences of competitive perception is shown. Thus this study used Q methodology in order to analyze local festival competitiveness perceptions by specialists. The Q sample was based on a review of related academic literature and newspaper, as well as interviews, while Q sample consisted of festival committee, public officers, related artists, art directors, event companies, and related professors. The analysis shows that meaningful three types of competitiveness perception. The results show that local festival competitiveness perception is source of local festival competitiveness. Theoretical and practical implication were discussed.

The Material·Part·Equipment industry is mostly an industry centered on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and is an important industry for revitalizing the local economy, which is the source of manufacturing competitiveness. In this study, we tried to derive the implications necessary for the development of the Material·Part·Equipment industries by analyzing the competitiveness of the Material·Part·Equipment industries in the Chungcheong region. To this end, we analyzed the industrial development stage and competitiveness of each region (Daejeon, Sejong, Chungnam, and Chungbuk) based on business scale factor, industrial growth rate, industrial specialization, and regional competitiveness for the Material·Part·Equipment industries in the Chungcheong region. Using data such as the number of employees, the number of businesses, and the amount of production in 2014 and 2019, significant industrial groups by region were identified considering the level of industrial specialization and regional competitiveness. In addition, by identifying the positions of these significant industrial groups in the stage of industrial development, suggestions for the development of the Material·Part·Equipment industries in the Chungcheong region were presented.

This paper is aimed to analyze the determinants and their relative importance that affect regional competitiveness in the era of globalization and climate change. The panel model was set by a balanced panel data for 7 metropolitan areas & 9 provinces and for the period of 2001~2010. Gross regional income per capita is used as the dependent variable and competitiveness-based factors, economic production factors, and climate change adaptation factors are selected as the explanatory variables. In this study, Model 1(typical regional competitiveness model) and Model 2 (added adaptation to climate change adaptation factors) were compared. The important findings can be summarized as follows. The most influential determinants on regional competitiveness are the ratio of knowledge-based industries and human capital and energy inefficiencies decrease the regional competitiveness. Compared to Model 1, Model 2 showed that the effects of the regional openness and the technology innovation capital are relatively more influential in Model 2. The results of this empirical study provide policy implications to strengthen the regional competitiveness in the future of the era of globalization and climate change.

항만간의 물동량 확보 경쟁은 국외 항만간 뿐만 아니라 국내 항만간에도 치열하게 이루어지고 있다. 이와 같은 상황에서 항만 물동량 확보를 위한 경쟁력 강화의 방안 중 하나로 O-D 분석(Origin-Destination, 기종점분석)을 통한 교역구조와 교역품목 분석을 고려 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 최근 10년간 국내 주요 4대 항만에 대한 전체 국내외 교역구조와 지역과 항만별 교역품목 분석하여 항만 경쟁력 강화를 위한 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구의 결과는 국내 주요 항만은 국내 지역과 국외 지역, 항만별 특색을 가진 교역 구조를 나타냈으며, 교역품목에서도 지역별, 항만별 특색을 보이는 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 항만 물동량 확보를 위한 마케팅 대상 지역과 품목에 대해 활용이 가능할 것이다.

최근 지역 경제주체들의 혁신역량을 극대화할 수 있는 지역혁신체제 구축을 통해 지역의 국제경쟁력 제고가 중요한 이슈가 되고 있으며 이러한 지역혁신의 원동력은 지역에서 성장가능산업의 발굴 및 활성화를 통한 지속적인 성장동인을 제공하는 것이 중요하며 지역 전략산업 및 지연산업 중심의 산학연관의 지역혁신체제 구축이 필요하다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 지역의 혁신역량 분석을 통한 산학연관의 네트워크를 구축하고 지역산업 육성 및 활성화를 위해 우리나라의 성장동력인 항공산업의 특성화를 통해 지역에서 경쟁력을 강화할 수 있는 방안에 대한 연구가 진행되었다.

China has become the group of two (G2) in almost fields including the scientific technology following the economic growth and joining the WTO in 2001. The main reason is that the government had strong intention for the industrialization of the scientific technology and connected the scientific technology and the economy. Typically, for analyzing the cause of the meteoric rise of China, the competitiveness of the scientific technology was analyzed by the entire score of the nation. However, in the case of China, there are differences in the pattern of the development between the eastern, central, and western province. Also, the industrialization and the competitiveness of the scientific technology are difference because each province established the decentralization of power. Therefore, it is more meaningful to analyze the main factors of Chinese economic growth on a province unit. In this study, therefore, we analyzed the competitive of R&D in China by 124 indexes in 31 areas. The data was analyzed by Partial least squares regression analysis. In conclusion, the scale of the area and the ability of R&D of the company are very important factors for total amount of production in the area. And the journals, patents, the transfer of technical know-how and the investment of R&D are main factors of the amount of export on the high-tech product. According to these results, the factors which make the difference in the industrialization and the competitiveness of the scientific technology in China were analyzed. Finally, it will be helpful to establish the policy for the development of the industrialization and the scientific technology in Korea.

This study investigated the conceptualization and application of new concept of regional resilience with case study in Korea in order to promote more sustainable regional development strategies, while problematizing dominant regional competitiveness concept in the current regional development circle under the condition of stagnant growth and ever-existing crisis in these days. Through literature review, this paper found out that regional resilience is a useful concept both to understand dramatic regional changes and to promote new regional development strategies. Furthermore, the study formulated basic research topics and issues for regional resilience through reviewing existing research outcomes on the measurement and factors of regional resilience. Through case study of two macro city-regions in Korea, this study also found out that regional resilience patterns and processes are differentiated according to the place and its scale and that both regional industrial structure formed in a path-dependent way and regional competitive characteristics are all significant to understand the regional resilience patterns and processes.

우리나라 해운 항만 물류기업의 국제물류 서비스 향상 및 글로벌 경쟁력 강화를 위한 방안 가운데 하나는 해외 현지 물류네크워크 구축이며 이를 통해 고객이 원하는 물류서비스 제공 및 글로벌 시장 내 경쟁력 확보 차원에서 필수적이다. 그러나 아직까지 필리핀 물류시장에 대한 우리나라의 해운 항만 물류기업 진출 및 투자 지원에 관한 체계적인 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 인도에 진출하는 우리나라 화주기업 및 물류기업의 물류 애로사항 해소 지원, 해운 물류기업의 경쟁력 강화 등 정부차원의 다양한 정책과 지원 사업에 관한 연구가 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 필리핀 항만물류시장의 현황을 분석한 후 향후 우리나라 해운 항만 물류기업들이 물류 네트워크 구축 방안을 수립하는데 있어 투자대상 시설 및 투자 유망지역 등 다양한 정보를 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 필리핀 물류시장을 면밀히 파악하는 것뿐만 아니라 필리핀 경제, 인프라 현황, 기업 분포 등 다양한 지표 분석을 통해 물류서비스 경쟁력 제고에 기여할 수 있는 투자 유망지역을 제시하였다.
