In den vergangenen Jahren ist im deutschsprachigen Raum eine Reihe von Studien entstanden, die sich mit wirtschaftlichen Auswirkungen von Hochschulen beschaeftigen, wobei vor allem die nachfrageorientierten regionaloekonomischen Ausgabeeffekte im Mittelpunkt stehen. Zu diesen Nachfrageeffekten gehoeren Auswirkungen der hochschulbedingten Ausgaben auf den Umsatz, die Beschaeftigung und das Einkommen. Sie lassen sich jeweils in direkte und indirekte Effekte aufgliedern und entstehen in der so genannten Phase der Leistungserstellung der Hochschule. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, angelehnt an bisherige Studien die regionalwirtschaftlich bedeutsamen Effekte der ausgewaehlten deutschen Hochschulen zu identifizieren und nachzuweisen. In der vorliegenden Untersuchung konnte festgestellt werden, dass die deutsche Hochschule einen wirtschaftlichen Stabilitaetsfaktor fuer die Region darstellt und traegt durch die Erhoehung des regionalen Einkommens und der Beschaeftigungseffekte erheblich zum Wohlstand in der Hochschulregion bei.

공항 개발은 공항이 입지하는 해당 지역의 경제뿐 아니라 국가 경제에도 중요한 영향을 미친다. 공항과 그 주변에 대규모 개발과 투자가 이뤄지고 지역 특성에 맞는 다양한 시설이 들어서게 돼 부동산 시장 파급 효과도 크다.

This study estimates causal effects of the governor vacancy on the regional economy, exploiting the case of exogenous governor vacancy in Korea. We find that the governor vacancy has a negative impact on the regional economy by lowering the employment rate and reducing the amount of credit card expenditures. Negative effects are more pronounced among vulnerable groups of the labor market such as women and aged 20~29 and 50~59. In addition, negative effects vary by characteristics of the governor. Negative effects of the governor vacancy on the regional economy show empirical evidence suggesting that leaders do matter.

This study analyzes the effect of airport investment on GRDP(Gross Regional Domestic Product) using Regional Production Function with public investment on social infrastructure. Particularly it includes the spillover effect of airport investment on the economies of neighbor regions beyond border. We estimate regional production function with the independent variable of airport investment stock using panel data with regional cross-section and time-series data. In the analysis with aggregate data of all industries, it shows the positive relationship between airport investment and GRDP which implies the affirmative effect of airport investment on regional economy in the aspects of direct and indirect spill-over effects. On the contrary, the research results of each industry do not appear to be the same. With the different characteristics of each industry, the direct and indirect effect may not be the same and the SOC investment contributes to the restructuring of regional economy by altering the industrial organizations of any specific region and its neighbors.

This study is to investigate spatial patterns of urban labor market growth driven by marketization process and its implication for understanding regional uneven development in post-reform China. Using a shift share analysis, it shows that the geography of employment growth in China's industrial labor market has closely interacted with the space economy of industrial output, which in turn indicates a deepening of economic reform. By decomposing net employment growth into output and productivity effects, it is shown that the non-state sector holds rapid growth of both output and productivity and contributes to net employment growth through positive net shifts. On the contrary, this study also presents that the state sector with relative decrease in output and productivity holds employment decline effects during the reform period. Since there is a significant spatial dimension for the trend above, it is contended that labor market dynamics together with space economy of industrial production play an important role in determining regional patterns of economic development. In addition, through situating this investigation in the context of structural and institutional changes in the reform period, our understanding of regional patterns of labor market growth will be much furthered.

This study has analysed riffle effect of shipbuilding business on regional economy in Jeonnam. For the analysis on connection to regional business, the most favored way to estimate economic effect of a certain industry in the nation and overseas, has been adopted. As a result of analysis, in case of 1,908,800 million won turnover in shipbuilding in Jeonnam, it would induce about 3,038,624 million won of production, about 940,656 million won of added value, about 13,361 employment and about 702,056 million won of income. Seeing production riffle effects of shipbuilding industry in Jeonnam on other businesses in the same area, it is found out to influence in order of on the primary industry metal products 458,784 million won, chemical products 128,250 million won, metal products 71,498 million won and on petrol and coal products 50,829 million won. Like this, shipbuilding industry is highly connected with metal and chemical industries, which make a cluster in eastern area of Jeonnam, suggesting that growth of shipbuilding industry in Jeonnam would maximize inter-industrial synergy effect in the region.

본 연구에서는 고부가가치를 창출할 수 있는 문화산업이 제주 지역 경제에 미치는 영향에 대한 파급효과를 보기 위하여 산업연관분석 기법 및 AHP 기법을 이용하여 분석하였다. 그리고 제주문화산업에 대한 현황 및 문제점을 분석하여 Porter의 가치사슬 (value chain) 모형을 토대로 지역발전전략으로서 지식기반 제주문화산업의 육성방안을 제시하였다. 분석결과, 문화산업에 대한 투자가 지역경제에 소득유발효과, 고용창출효과 및 타 산업으로의 전?후방 연계효과 등이 강한 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 소득유발효과와 고용창출효과 등의 파급효과로 인한 제주지역 경제를 활성화시키기 위하여 기식기반 문화산업을 육성하여야 할 것이다.

This paper attempts to examine the effect of EXPO 2012 Yeosu on the economy of Gwangyang bay area. Based on previous successful EXPOs, We identified four major positive effects (direct economic impact, regional infrastructure developments, redevelopment of slum areas and industrial complex, and internationalization of Gwangyang bay area). Especially, EXPO 2012 Yeosu will contribute to make the job creation of 97,842 employees and promote tourism industry. To maximize the above positive effects of EXPO 2012 Yeosu, we suggest several strategic alternatives in this paper. First of all, we need to make several plans for realizing the specialized theme of EXPO 2012 Yeosu. Second, local governments should create a more favorable business environment for foreign investors. Third, we have to make the strategic tourism programs to attract foreign tourists. Finally, local governments need to make the several communication strategies of utilizing mass media and non-mass media.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the effect of local festivals on regional economic growth through empirical analysis of festival - economic growth relation. Theoretically, the theory of creative city is at the center of the discussion as to how festivals can influence economic growth. We used the regional convergence equation and used pooled OLS, fixed effect model, and GMM estimation method to analyze the effect of festivals on regional economic growth. According to this empirical analysis, the effect of festival variables such as the number of festivals and the festival period on economic growth has not been affected. This suggests that the effects of festivals on productivity and efficiency have not existed. This implies that the creative city theory that local festivals influence regional economic growth does not work well.

This study aims to examine the ripple effect of the '119 Integrated Information System' for city disaster management on the local economy. The study was conducted in the area of Gyeongnam province, and the study method is the interdependence analysis based on the Input Coefficient drawn from Input-Output Tables in which Intermediary Transaction Tables drawn through RAS was taken advantage of to grasp the correlation among industries and regions in terms of the local economy, and the ripple effect of the changes of political exogenous variables on the local economy was divided to such elements as production, added value, and employment so as to attempt empirical analysis on the local economy system. To estimate the ripple effect on the local economy, three different amounts of the expected input were applied to the study respectively and the results are as follows: Some $28.7{\sim}42.4$ billion won for the production induction effect, some $7.5{\sim}11.4$ billion won for the added-value induction effect, some $103{\sim}157$ job openings for the employment induction effect, and some $3.8{\sim}5.7$ billion won for the income induction effect are expected to take place as the ripple effect on the local economy.
