A Study on Factors Related to Knowledge Management and Organizational Performance: A Conceptual Model and Implications (지식경영 및 조직성과와 관련된 변인들에 관한 연구: 개념적 모델과 시사점)

  • Although previous studies show that organizational culture and organizational communication could be influential factors in knowledge management and organizational performance, the more integrated research to indicate relationships among all of the factors is still needed. By indicating the inter-relationships among the factors and the direction of the influence, this paper suggests various ways to develop an integrated approach to the improvement of organizational performance through knowledge management and other related factors. Thus, the purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships among national culture, organizational culture, organizational communication, knowledge management, and organizational performance. Based on a comprehensive review of extant literature on the relationships among these factors, the relationships are summarized in the conceptual model. According to the model, organizational performance is influenced by knowledge management, organizational communication, and organizational culture, and knowledge management is influenced by organizational communication and organizational culture. Based on the conceptual model, implications for human resource (HR) researchers and practitioners seeking to optimally improve organizational performance are presented.

Study on the Determinants of Efficiency in Korean R&D Manufacturing Firms: Focused on the Effects of R&D and Patents (국내 R&D 제조기업의 효율성 결정요인에 대한 연구: R&D 및 특허효과를 중심으로)

  • In that economic growth strategy through maximizing input would not working anymore in the rapidly changing economic environment, now we should focus on the improvement of firms' efficiency. This study estimate the efficiency and determinants of the efficiency using the panel data of 938 Korean manufacturing firms which ranked in high R&D investment firms during 2005~2018. We found that both R&D intensity as R&D input and patent stock as R&D output increase the efficiency of firms independently. And firm size, debt ratio, profitability also affect the firm's efficiency.

  • In this paper, the necessities and process for introduction of the 'Knowledge Management' are analyzed in R&D. The application of knowledge management for R&D system is regarded as most useful strategic tool to accomplish technology innovation. In this study, the understanding of paradigm changes in R&D is reviewed and the success and failure points in the stage of introduction of the knowledge management are surveyed to maintain objectivity. And the aggregate knowledge management system are proposed for the national nuclear R&D system.

  • Knowledge management is an innovation paradigm to improve organizations competitiveness by strengthening organization's knowledge competency. Most organizations which have implemented knowledge management have experienced various difficulties in improving organization's knowledge competency, and so they have strived to find solutions. For the problems, it may be considered as an effective approach to link between knowledge management and human resource development. This study introduces two real cases adopting such approach focusing on competency development and career development which are primary areas of human resource development, and presents a model structuring core mechanisms which can be found in the cases. The model focuses on creating synergy effects between knowledge management and workforces' competency development. The cases and the model are expected to be helpful in enhancing organizational competency and the performance of knowledge management.

  • Recently, due to the continuous changes in the business environment and increased competition, enterprises are introducing technology management to increase their value and enhance their competitiveness. In this study, based on the structural equations model, we investigated the effects of the core success factors of knowledge management on job fidelity and organizational performance and the mediating effects of organizational learning. In addition, organizational culture and information technology and process were assumed to be the key factors affecting knowledge management, and organizational learning was represented by experimental learning, indirect learning, and shared learning. As a result, it was found that knowledge management positively affects business fidelity and organizational performance and, even when it is mediated by organizational learning, it positively affects business fidelity and organization performance directly or indirectly. Therefore, we were able to confirm the importance of utilizing knowledge management in companies and to suggest an appropriate application scope for applying knowledge management and organizational learning.

마케팅 메시지로서의 지식: 유비쿼터스 개인지식관리 환경을 중심으로

  • 본 연구는 개인이 이른바 '유비쿼터스 개인지식관리 시스템'을 갖추고 있을 때 발생하게 될 것으로 예상되는 마케팅 메시지로서의 지식의 역할에 대한 개념적 연구를 수행한다. 기존의 마케팅 광고 메시지는 인간의 생물학적인 감각과 인지, 기억 능력에 의존하였기 때문에 반복적이고 자극적이어야만 했다. 그러나 유비쿼터스 환경에서는 UPA(Ubiquitous Personal Assistant)를 활용하여 개인이 소비하는 컨텐트를 이음매 없이(Seamless) 습득, 저장할 수 있게 되며, 이러한 변화는 마케팅과 광고의 방법에도 변화를 가져오게 될 것으로 판단된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 유비쿼터스 환경에서의 개인지식관리를 통하여 변화되는 마케팅과 광고의 모습을 나타내고자 하며, 이를 위해 시나리오를 제시하고 분석한다.

An Empirical Study on the Success Factors for Military Knowledge Management System (군 지식관리시스템의 성공요인에 관한 실증적 연구)

  • This research derived five success factors(the characteristics of system, knowledge, management, organization and users) for knowledge management system(KMS) and empirically analyzed the influence on the performance(usage and user satisfaction) by setting these characteristics to military KMS. This study shows that user characteristic affects most positive(+) effect to usage, and knowledge characteristic affects most positive(+) effect to user satisfaction but organization characteristic affects negative(-) effect to usage and user satisfaction. The result of this research illustrates the successful operation of military KMS and expects the early settlement of the military forces that will establish KMS by reducing initial trial and errors.

  • 지적 창의경영은 지식의 공유와 생성으로 나눌 수 있는 데, 지식 생성 분야에서 창의성 연구에서 나온 창의적 문제해결 방법론이다. 이 글에서는 공학 분야에 주로 사용되는 TRIZ 이론을 비공학 분야와 비즈니스 분야, 지적 창조경영의 지식 생성 분야에서 응용사례와 활용 가능성을 기술하였다. TRIZ는 공학분야의 전세계 특허와 기술혁신 사례들을 분석하여 개발하였으나, 이 창의적 문제해결 이론은 러시아 공산주의 사회라는 특수한 상황에서 개발되어서 경영과 비즈니스를 다루고 연구하는 일에는 많은 어려움이 있었다. 그러나 러시아가 개방되면서 최근 TRIZ의 다양하고 강력한 기법들을 비공학 분야와 선진기업 경영이나 비즈니스에 접목시켜 연구되고 있다. TRIZ연구는 변화와 경쟁이 기본이라고 여겨지는 비지니스 활동에서 강력한 문제 해결능력과 아이디어를 가지도록 도와주고 있다. 이 글에서 비즈니스에서 성공과 실패라는 모순을 일으키는 문제를 고전적인 TRIZ의 모순 해소 매트릭스와 비슷한 비즈니스 매트릭스를 이용해서 해결되는 선진 기업의 창조적 경영 응용 사례를 살펴 보고 향후 활용 가능성을 연구하였다.

  • This study explores the ways to upgrade the services of the special libraries and information centers and strengthen their competitiveness. First, this study examines the characteristics of the special libraries and information centers and the competitive environments which they face. And this study considers the possibilities to make use of Knowledge Management(KM) and Competitive Intelligence(CI) in special libraries and information centers in Korea finally, this study provides the management strategies to strengthen the competitiveness of the special libraries and information centers in Korea.
