The aim of this work is to verify the self-quality assurances in medical institutions in Korea through the external audits by the group of experts and have a mutual discussion of the systematic problems. In order to validate the external audits 30 of 80 medical institutions across the nation were picked out considering the regional distribution and the final 25 institutions applied voluntarily to take part in this work. The basic rules were setup that any information of the participants be kept secrete and the measurements be performed with the dosimetry system already verified through intercomparision. The outputs for 2 or more photon beams, the accuracy of gantry rotation and collimator rotation and the poistional accuracy of MLC movement were measured. The findings for the output measurement showed the differences of -0.8%~4.5%, -0.79%~3.01%, and -0.7%~0.07% with respect to that of the verified dosimetry system for the 6MV, 10MV, and 15MV, respectively. For the reference absorbed dose 8 (16%) of 50 photon beams in 25 medical institutions differed 2.0% or greater from the reference value. The coincidences of Field size with x-ray beam and radiation isocenters of Gantry roration and collimator rotation gave the results of within ${\pm}2$ mm for every institute except 2 institutions. The positional accuracy of MLC movement agreed to within ${\pm}1$ mm for every institute. For the beam qualities of 6 MV photon beams kQ values showed the distribution within 0.4% between maximum and minimum. For the protocols 21 institutions (84%) used absorbed dose to water based protocol while 4 insitutions (16%) used air kerma based one. 22 institutions employed the SSD technique while 3 institutions did the SAD one. External audit plays an important role in discovering the systematic problems of self-performing Quality Assurances and having in depth discussion for mutual complementation. Training experts of international level as well as national support system are required so that both the group of experts of medical physicists and government laboratory could perform together periodical and constant external audits.

The Yellow sea, as described in article 123 of UNCLOS, is semi-enclosed sea surrounded by the Republic of Korea, the People's Republic of China and North Korea. In addition, the Yellow Sea is one of the 66 large marine ecosystems as it contains large amounts of marine resources. According to article 194 of UNCLOS, states should be aware of rights and duties with respect to the protection and preservation of the marine environment to be engaged with countries directly as regional entity or indirectly. Therefore, the legal blank is urgent in terms of trans-boundary environmental pollutant issues. The UNDP has conducted a project called Yellow Sea Large Marine Ecosystem (YSLME) which has reached the 2nd phase. The project has some notable achievements, namely performing joint activities on analysis of diagnostic trans-boundary issues in collaboration with China and South Korea, developing a strategic action plan based on TDA, and establishing regional strategic action plan. However, on the other hand, the project could not reflect the full participation of North Korea as a state party. As a result, the project has a limitation on effective implementation of RSAP. Therefore, this study focuses on the suggestion of a legally-binding trilateral treaty as a blue print for the next, 3rd phase of the project. By analyzing the best practice of the Wadden Sea Trilateral Treaty case, the study verifies the validity of legislative measures on establishing and managing a legally-binding trilateral YSLME Commission. By suggesting a three phase treaty, incorporating a joint declaration by establishing the commission, the signing of the treaty, and formulating an umbrella convention and implementation arrangement, the study expects to guarantee the consistency and sustainability of the trilateral treaty regardless of political issues pertaining to North Korea.
This study reviewed pension reform's overall characteristic and(anticipated) positive negative effect in OECD countries's and then analysed middle-old age's retirement transition and determinants of full/gradual retirement through the $3{\sim}7th$ Korea Labor and Income Panel considering that Korea has been aging society quickly and it is necessary to suggest not only solution of early retirement and working age reduction but also pension reform. As a result of this study, about 1/4 of 50 years and older have been continuing to work through various pathways after retirement and 98% among fully retired older who passed by re-employment step of occupational status including retirement are still searching for jobs. This showed that it is also inappropriate to typical retirement concept itself on the lines of labour market participation in Korea and part-time/temporary work or self-employment have been used by means of alternatives of maintaining works for middle-old ages. However, the duration of changed occupational status of gradual retirees is mostly only $1{\sim}2$ years. Therefore it is necessary to support the gradual retirement to minimize a term of income insecurity and promote the work of the old ages who have will and capacity of work. Most of all, partial pension system which is main program of gradual retirement, should make the rules that beneficiaries are those who age less than pensionable age and benefit levels should be actuarial fairness together with pension system and provide substantial help. But, the introduction of partial pension system is not the only way to solve and needs overall social economic approach. Especially guarantee the increase of quantitative qualitative employment for middle-old ages linking labor market policy and supporting gradual retirement not ought to be abused to force the part time works and early retirement route against their own will.
This study aims to find out the correlation between the number of snack intake frequency by the young Korean and the experience of dental caries by nationwide level, using data of Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey in 2007. participants whose age among 12 to 18 years-old were analyzed for this study. Of 373 total participants in this analysis, 200 were male and 173 were female. The Multiple Logistic Regression Analysis was used to estimate the association between food intake between meals and experience of dental caries. Data were weight-adjusted. The results were evidently found that those who eat between meals more frequently are likely to be linked more closely to the dental caries, in terms of the correlation between property of demography and the experience of disease (OR:2.1, CI:1.1-4.0). Thus, It is to raise the awareness of effect on dental health, regarding a kind of food consumed, an appropriate nutritional education or dietary consultation is required regularly at school.

The aim of this study was to understand home hospice care status and problem in Korea, and ultimately to develop the home hospice standard. This study was conducted as a part of a study on the institutionalization of the home hospice in Korea. A focus group interview with representatives of seven home hospice agency where have provided home hospice service for years was conducted. All of the participants agreed to the essential components for home hospice service including 24 hour on call service, multidisciplinary team visiting, and periodical team meeting. Visiting frequency was 1-3 times per week mostly by nurses. And they agreed requisitely to fulfill an office for home visiting nurses, storage space, and home visiting bags. The obstacles of providing home hospice were 1) no reimbursement system, 2) difficulties to change medication at home, 3) lack of inpatient beds for symptom control. Standardization of home hospice is critical to improve service quality and to develop reimbursement system. The findings of this study could be used as a basic data to develop home hospice standards and guidelines.
In this study, the convergent relation between perception of patient safety culture and safety nursing activity was investigated to prevent safety accidents and prepare data of nursing intervention for patient safety. Nurses in B City who signed on the written consent participated in this study between February 16 and 28, 2015. A total of 266 copies were collected and were analyzed using the SPSS 20.0 program. The mean score of patient safety culture was 3.60 on a scale of 0 to 5, and safety nursing activity, 4.28. The subcategory of perception of patient safety culture, which included the accident report frequency and patient safety level positively (+) influenced safety nursing activity. Therefore, effective communications and report systems in hospitals may be necessary to enhance patient safety culture. Education programs of patient safety should be developed and provided to nurses in hospitals to enhance the levels of patient safety management and their services.
This study was executed to provide the basic data to prevent and manage the workers' metabolic syndrome (MS) in workplace by analyzing the health examination data of 1,152 workers at the ages from 19 to 34 and comparing the differences in MS prevalence, its components and living habits according to obesity. As a result, MS prevalence showed 8.9% in male and 1.5% in female respectively. MS prevalence according to obesity showed the differences that prevalence of male subjects without obesity was 1.6% and 21.7% with obesity and prevalence of female subjects without obesity was 0% and 12.5% with obesity. Components of MS according to obesity showed 4 factors except hypertriglyceridemia were significantly related with obesity in female subjects and all factors were significantly related with obesity in male subjects. With the above results, obesity is identified as the risk factor affecting MS prevalence and components of younger than 40 year old workers. Therefore, it is suggested health manager should consistently implement obesity management to prevent and manage the MS in working place and increase the workers' participation through the development and utilization of a web-based obesity management program considering space-time restriction and efficiently manage the MS.

The knowledge and information processing competence is one of the essential competencies in an information-oriented society which is highly related to science education. The purpose of this study is to investigate middle school students' difficulties in science inquiry activity in view of the knowledge and information processing competence. Collection, processing, and application of information are extracted as common elements of the knowledge and information processing competence through literature search. Data were obtained from eight students of a middle school in Seoul for five months and were analyzed based on constant comparative method to extract students' difficulties. As a result, the element of information collection is observed through science inquiry and the element of information processing is observed in hypothesis setting step, inquiry result analysis step, and inquiry result sharing step. The element of information application is observed in the creation of posters for sharing and inquiry reports. Difficulties in information collection were found in lack of confidence in information gathering, systematic search strategy, and information reliability. Difficulties in information processing appeared in the inexperience of analysis program use, information transformation, and interpretation of linkage information. Difficulties in information application were caused by the lack of effective organization and effective expression of information. In this study, it is meaningful to provide a clue as to how the knowledge and information processing competence can be established in science education.
The purpose of this study is to find out what their professionalism is and how their expertise grows among Christian alternative school teachers. Professionalism refers to the broad expertise such as specific knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for a particular profession. The teacher expertise is also closely related to the life cycle of a teacher. The present study collected and analyzed the data using a mixed research method that combined a survey and interview. The survey, which involved 276 Christian alternative school teachers, asked about the current teacher's interest, the importance and retention of each element of professionalism, and, in addition, the level of external efforts and help in developing professionalism. The in-depth interview was conducted on 7 Christian alternative school teachers and identified the meaning of teacher professionalism, teacher quality and competencies, and environment for the professional growth. The results reveal that the professionalism recognized by Christian alternative school teachers is rather complex. It includes communication and relationship, calling and identity in addition to the curriculum and instruction expertise that reconstructs the curriculum from a Christian perspective. It is further found that teachers' decision to respond to the calling, subsequent continuous self-development, the teacher community that embodies such calling and efforts, and the school environment where autonomy and responsibility coexist, are equally important for their professional growth. Thus, in order to promote the professionalism of Christian alternative school teachers more effectively in the future, it would be necessary to provide programs that take the teacher's whole life cycle into account and are also directed to teachers themselves rather than to institutions. Considering the emphasis on the expertise in communication and relations, pre-service teacher education should focus not only on developing subject matter expertise, but also fostering communication and relational skills with students and other school community members.
This study applies policy network theory to examine the main policy actors and their relations in the green growth policy making process. Also the development of and changes in South Korean government's green growth strategy are analyzed. The results demonstrate that the president and the presidential council were the key players to introduce and to push green growth policy in a short time. Policy influence and key roles were concentrated on them. The development of green growth policy were initiated from the president's change in perceived problems and preferences. He set green growth policy on the government's top priority. These changes lead to another changes in strategies, rules, norms and resources within the network. As a result, the president-led green growth policy established new laws, environmental regulations and governmental structures to facilitate the policy implementation. Green growth policy, however, was almost stopped after new presidential election in 2013. Because new government has a different national agenda, the previous governmental agenda lost its status as national priority. In addition, this study shows that government-led green growth in Korea has policy consistency problem after administration was changed by presidential election. Former president-led green growth policy making under the situation of the lack of policy participation from the private sector led to discontinuities in policy after a presidential term was over.
