Ecotourism has been considered as sustainable tourism since it has been believed to preserve the environment of a tourist destination as well as to satisfy the various needs of tourists. However, most of destinations recently developed for ecotourism have confronted environmental degradation. Therefore, it is necessary to challenge and reestablish the concept of ecotourism. This study seeks to provide new perspectives on the concept of ecotourism by estimating the sustainability of three ecotourism destinations in Jeju Island. The Yae-Rae Dong Ecotourism Village shows a high level of sustainability, while the Ah-Bu Oh-rum at Song-Dang Ri and the Experience Beach at Jong-Dal Ri shows a low level of sustainability. In result, the ecotourism in itself is not sustainable tourism, and further this study suggests that appropriate planning, development, and management of a destination are important factors to decide the success of sustainable tourism.

This study was to investigate the sustainable regional ecotourism development and management of the Quinta Mazatlan World Birding Center & Edinburg Scenic Wetland World Birding Center in the Lower Rio Grand Valley, Texas, USA. In oder to identify the substantiality of these two institutions, sustainable tourism evaluation indicators were developed based on the previous researches. Data were collected in December 2016 and March 2017 at the two World Birding Centers. Official documents regarding the sustainable management of the two agencies were collected and interviews with the directors of both centers were also proceeded. The findings show that the two World Bird Center have adopted basic measures for environmental substantiality but have adopted various management techniques, especially for economic and social sustainability. In particular, Quinta Mazatlan World Birding Centers have developed twenty programs and events to attract four different target markets including children and adolescents, families with young children, and adults. It also secured income by donation as wells as admission and rental fees. Furthermore, the two World Birding Centers have provided diverse volunteer opportunities for the local residents. Practical implications of the study for the Korea regional ecotourism development and management were also discussed at the end.

Tourism is one of the largest and fastest growing industries in the world, and is a major industry in many developed and developing countries. It is an increasingly important source of income, employment and wealth in many countries. However, its rapid expansion has also had detrimental environmental and socio-cultural impacts over many regions. Like tourism, the rapid growth in cruise tourism has also put greater pressures on environmental and cultural resources in cruise-ship ports of call. Through this paper, we would like to argue that more emphasis should be given to minimize national and international environmental impacts originated from cruise tourism with preparing infrastructures for sustainable tourism.

This study proposes a new model of tourism destination management based on the tourism management program using information and communication technology provided by LBS. The personalized tourist information service can enhance the satisfaction of tourists. Sustainability can be expanded through management based on the capacity of the tourism destination. Increased satisfaction leads to more diverse tourism activities. Various tourism activities increase the consumption expenditure, which satisfies the local tourism destination management purpose. The tourism destination management plan of the central and local governments is a comprehensive system in which detailed policy support plans are formulated from the perspective of the three requirements for sustainability-economic, socio-cultural, and environmental-and concerned parties are connected and resources are supported through detailed processes in which the sources of disparities in accessibility are identified and the roles are delegated at the national, community, and regional levels.

After COVID-19, interest in "sustainable tourism" increased, and the number of tourists who wanted to experience "sustainable tourism" also increased. However, there is a problem that the programs and methods for 'sustainable tourism' are not specific and diverse. In addition, since most of the interests of "sustainable tourism" focus on "environment" and "carbon neutrality," there are not many programs or government policies that can contribute to the community. Therefore, in this study, news data and review data were analyzed to suggest a method for promoting 'sustainable tourism'. First, in this study, major themes of sustainable travel were derived through news big data analysis. Through this analysis, policy themes and events of 'sustainable tourism' were derived. By analyzing news big data related to "sustainable tourism," we would like to analyze the reasons why sustainable travel has not been activated in Korea. Finally, in order to promote sustainable travel in Jeju island, we analyzed user review data of Jeju local currency, and propose a idea to coexist with the local community.

Caves have the values of learning sites and tourism resources. But show caves are at risk of being ravaged, destroyed, and Polluted. The Purpose of this study is to analyse the management condition and the problems of the show caves, and to suggest the alternative improvement for the cave management. The research of the Cultual Properties Administration revealed many Problems including the management system, safety diagnosis, the demand for comprehensive academic research and so on. An analyzing of the questionnaire about cave manager demanded to reform working conditions, tourist education, an amendment of the Cultural Properties Protection Act, expert education for cave manager. In conclusion, It is necessary that construct the mutual cooperation system of an administrative organization, cave manager and tourist, and the Cave Management information System to manage database of cave environment.

관광의 활성화에서 지방정부 및 지역사회의 관심은 절대적인 요소에 해당한다. 수도권 동부지역은 관광서비스와 관련하여 지방정부 및 지역사회의 관심이 부족하다고 판단된다. 지속적인 관광의 활성화보다는 일시적이고 가시적인 관광효과에 치중한다고 판단된다. 지속 가능한 관광개발은 가시적 효과보다는 지역의 잠재력을 최대화할 수 있는 측면에 초점을 두는 것이 바람직한데, 연구지역은 이러한 지속적인 관광개발이 체계적으로 전개되지 못하고 있어, 향후 관광효과를 최대화하기 위한 새로운 방안의 모색이 요구된다.
