  • The purpose of this paper is to seek the Sustainability in the Rural living considering Regional characteristics that would be referred the natural heritage in the rural areas and the different particular natural environment. In addition, based on this results, the local peoples who live in rural villages, will be possible to maintain and improve their life by their own effort continuously. Research methods are as following. At the first, The case study carried out for Japan's rural village, that how the residents would be participated of the town development and What is the motivation to participate to make their town well. and then, this paper analyzed the causing and problems the decline and developing possibilities of village targeting 'Bosanwonri' which is traditional rural village located in Kwangdukmean, Cheonansi, Korea. and in its final analysis, this paper proposed an possible alternatives which can retains the sustainable development.

  • Recently, the housing market in Korea has been changed from new construction to building-stocks, and focusing on supplier to focusing on users. Open housing is a design method not only content to users' various needs but also to the means of sustainable development by adapted to longevity of buildings. There are some indicators for Open Housing related to Green Building Certification Criteria which were worked by Mock & ME. But those indicators are limited to flexible design methods. This is a basic study for the selecting of Open Housing indicators for complementation of Green Building Certification Criteria by the analysis of SI housing in Japan, domestic Green Building Labelling and those of other countries.

  • Growing concern and technical improvement in the housing industry has promoted continuous customization to be the most significant parameter for ecological and social sustainability of housing. The basic principle of Open Building is based on the concept of sustainability, but the theoretical relationship of the open housing system in terms of environmental architecture has not been examined profoundly yet. In order to generate an overall approach toward sustainable housing, a further alignment between Open Building and sustainability should be established. Therefore, this study aims at the establishment of the theoretical relationship between Open Housing system and environmental architecture, and the examination of Open Housing system in terms of sustainability for the suggestion of the future development in housing environment.

  • IDF (Intensity-Duration-Frequency) 곡선에서 익숙하다시피 강우지속시간과 최대강우강도는 반비례한다. 그동안 이러한 관계를 살펴보는 것은 대개 수십 시간의 규모에 그쳤다. 이 연구에서는 과연 시계열에서 시간 규모를 계속 증가시키면서 해당 시간 동안의 최대강우강도가 어떻게 변하는지를 살펴보았다. 가능한 장기간의 강수관측이 이루어진 우리나라 24개 지점을 대상으로 시간 규모를 최장 한 세기까지 키우면서 최대강우강도의 변화를 분석하였다. 작은 시간 규모에서는 그 관계가 멱함수를 따르지만, 시간 규모가 점차 늘어나면서 최대강우강도는 설계 목적의 지속시간 범위에서 결정된 멱함수 또는 기존 IDF 곡선으로부터 외삽하기 어려워진다. 이러한 변화는 점차 정상 연강수량으로 점근하는 결과를 가져온다. 분석된 결과를 토대로 연 단위를 초과하는 지속시간에 걸친 최대강우강도의 감쇄를 적절하게 표현할 수 있는 함수식을 제시하였다.

And the framework of analysis about the planning characteristics of New Urbanistic Waterfront and urban development was derived by compiling theory of Waterfront and Waterfront city and considering prior study. This study will analyze the advanced cases at home and abroad through the analysis of the urban development and architectural characteristics analysis system of the New Urbanism Waterfront and Waterfront City Development by analyzing the advanced cases of the domestic and foreign countries through the analysis.

  • Current trend on sustainable tall building shows significant efforts on the integrated design approaches for the performative design to achieve efficient building for the energy, structural and materials. The design of tall buildings should take into consideration of environmental impact and economic benefits from sustainable approaches to ensure low energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Designing sustainable tall building require concerns and comprehensive understanding of sustainable building technology, sustainable rating system and supporting incentive policy. The research has been conducted on available rating system and the incentive policy for sustainable building design methodology through cases studies for this study. In the paper, author tried to emphasis the role of the incentive policy for the sustainable building and provides survey of the impact on rating, adaptable use of sustainable building technology on the current practice of tall building design.

  • Now, there are many cases where materials are maintained at construction sites or standard construction prices are not in accordance with the applicable regulations, resulting in a lot of fine dust. Therefore, a particulate matter measurement system is applied not only to manage particulate matter at construction sites but also to reduce particulate matter .This study aims to evaluate the applicability of this particulate matter measurement system to the construction site through long-term measurement experiments using a light scattering method particulate matter measurement instrument at the construction site.

  • As carbon neutrality becomes an issue around the world, research is actively being conducted to achieve reduction targets for each industry by declaring 2050 carbon neutrality in Korea and implementing the greenhouse gas target management system and emission trading system. The construction industry quantitatively predicts and evaluates carbon emissions by stages through the evaluation of the entire building process, but research on this is insufficient in the case of the construction process. Therefore, as part of the research on predicting and reducing carbon emissions generated at construction sites, data from actual construction sites were collected to analyze the facilities and characteristics of each energy source, and a scenario was proposed to quantitatively predict the use of each energy source.

  • Fast industrialization caused from Descartes' dichotomy has enormously developed our world, but endangered the ecosystem. In this study, the ecosystem aesthetics is not only a critique against existing growth-ideology and technical civilization, but also the art pursuing the life as an artistic state and achieving the dream for qualitatively different new future. Lao-tzu's Natural Beauty assumes that the adaptation to natural laws can lead every purpose's achievement. Based on such theoretical alternative, the earth construction as a medium for coexisting mankind, nature and construction interacts with the other objects through the natural affinity, the energy efficiency, the material generation. The earth construction provides the images of naivety, naturalness, folk as well as emotional stability in cultural terms. This study's direction and method are as follows. First, it researches the ecosystem aesthetics from the Taoism viewpoint, the alternative for environmental healing based on theoretical reviews about the ecosystem aesthetics. Second, it researches the earth construction's ecosystem aesthetic features and construction features from the low-tech aspect in continual construction genealogy. Third, it analyzes some cases targeting domestic buildings by drawing out expression methods and features through the connectivity of earth construction and ecosystem aesthetics. The earth construction lies between the heaven and the earth, but coexists in natural cycle. The earth construction caused from ecosystem aesthetics will be a future alterative, and various studies about its features and methods should be continued.

A Study on Eco-School Design for Sustainable Education Environment in the UK - Focused on BREEAM Certification Projects - (영국의 지속가능한 교육환경을 위한 친환경 학교 디자인에 관한 연구 - BREEAM 인증 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • The world is constantly endeavoring to reduce global $CO_2$ emissions by international agreements. However, in general, the public cannot be fully understood and it is difficult to know how to implement sustainable development. The purpose of the study is to explore the concept of Eco-School and to investigate the eco-friendly education program in order to prepare an environmental school design guidelines. In addition, an analysis of the UK's Green Certification Program(BREEAM) explores the sustainability of the educational environment and how it achieve the built environment. Furthermore, this study suggests ways to increase sustainability in education and design field. First, through the literature review, recent trends of eco-friendly school design will be analyzed and the concept with characteristics of Eco-School system should be examined. Second, the evaluation factors and application methods of BREEAM will be explored, and the correlation between Eco-School and BREEAM evaluation items by sustainable development goals of United Nations Development Program(UNDP) will be considered. Through the analysis of the BREEAM schools which are constructed in England based on the BREEAM New Construction 2018, design characteristics and methods of eco-friendly schools will be researched so this study suggest practical ways to contribute design guideline which enables to create the specific policy and design improvement of eco-friendly schools in Korea.
