Analysis of Disaster News Contents on TV News Programs: Three Network TVs and JTBC's News Coverage of Sewol Ferry Disaster (방송 뉴스의 재난보도 콘텐츠에 대한 분석: 지상파 3사와 JTBC의 세월호 참사 보도를 중심으로)

  • The news coverage of Sewol Ferry catastrophe has reprimanded from numbers of people because of false reports and mediamorphosis such as distorted news. Thus, the purpose of this study is to examine the news coverage of television news programs about the Sewol Ferry catastrophe. Specifically, this study was conducted to figure out problems with the disaster news reports of several broadcasting stations such as, KBS, MBC, SBS and JTBC. Furthermore, the study also explores about how they reported without following the rules of disaster news coverage and policy of disaster news coverage by content analysis.

  • 선진 각국의 지상파 디지털 방송 기술 개발 동향을 파악하고 미국, 영국, 일본, 독일 호주 등 주요 국가별로 대표방송사를 선정하여 재무제표 자료를 토대로 투자 및 운영효율성에 대한 정량적 분석을 수행하고 DEA(Data Envelope Analysis)모형을 이용하여 각국의 경쟁력을 비교 분석한다. 분석 결과를 우리나라의 방송 3사(KBS, MBC, SBS)의 상황과 비교 분석함으로써 국내 디지털 지상파 방송이 경쟁력을 갖추기 위한 조건을 제시하고자 한다.

  • This study conducted usability test to users in 20s in order to find problems for improving news apps of the major broadcasting companies. Efficiency, effectiveness, and satisfaction were evaluated by mobile news content type. Also there is including analysis of the news topics (hard news, soft news) and broadcasters (MBC, SBS). As a result, same problems were found in common items according to mobile news content types. And in the news topic, there was a difference in the news values and news attributes that need to be improved. This study gives practical implications to the news producers to improve the contents of news apps.

  • 지상파 UHDTV가 2017년 5월 31일부터 수도권을 중심으로 송출되기 시작한지도 벌써 1년 가까이 되었으며, 수신되는 지역을 조금씩 확대하여 2021년까지는 전국을 커버하고자 진행되고 있다. 지상파 UHDTV는 직접수신이나 방송공동수신설비를 활용하여 수신율을 높이고자 하나, 현재까지는 "방송채널별 변복조형 신호처리기"의 보급이 활성화되지 못하여 시일이 조금은 미루어질 것으로 예상된다. 특히 지상파 UHDTV의 장점을 발휘하기 위해서는 해결해야 할 난제가 여러 가지가 있다. 본 논문에서는 지상파 UHDTV의 수신뿐만 아니라 ATSC3.0이 갖고 있는 다양한 특성과 장점을 알아보면서 제언을 하고자 한다. 결과적으로 UHDTV는 국민에게 무료 보편적 서비스로 당연히 제공되는 방송이 맞지만, 더욱 다양한 서비스(Wake-Up 이나 홈포털, VoD 등)가 무료나 유료로 제공되기 위해서는 지상파 방송사가 정부, TV제조사나 통신망 사업자 등과 상호협력이 필요함으로 지속적인 대화를 통한 해결방안을 찾아야 할 것으로 보인다.

  • Domestic free TVs play roles as for contents provider and TV station : they need to acquire not only ad revenues but also distribution revenues from internet service, cable channel and DMB. It is however doubtful to keep the windowing of programs through the different windows due to recent decrease of ad revenues of the stations. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to search for the mechanism of windowing of free TV's programs and the strategy of the distribution. As a result, the life cycle of the broadcasting programs is so short to be distributed within 7 days, Regarding the windowing, there are at first the strategy increasing the accumulated revenue by the diversification of the windows ; secondly, the strategy focusing on the prospective window neglecting the holdback. It is necessary to choose to take the appropriate strategy by the particularity of each program and the market background.

  • This study looked into coping strategies of local terrestrial broadcasting companies in the media market, since the introduction of comprehensive programming channels was confirmed. Local terrestrial broadcasting companies vulnerable to market competitiveness are driven more out to the difficulty of survival in a limited advertising market with the advent of comprehensive programming channel. and Local terrestrial broadcasting receive discriminative application than comprehensive programming channel. They have reverse discrimination in must-carry, broadcasting area, programming regulation, advertisement regulation, broadcasting development fund. Hence, Local terrestrial broadcasting needs diverse countermeasures at difficult media circumstances. Above all, Competitive content reinforcement is desperately needed. That's why content distribution structure needs diversification. And, It is necessary for local terrestrial broadcasting companies to diversify the content distribution system. As a way to expand distribution structure of local broadcasting, the introduction of local programming regulations for total amount will be highlighted in the nationwide network program. The mandatory policy that programs produced by local terrestrial broadcasting companies will be broadcast regularly in prime time through a nationwide network is an example. In addition to developing high content independently, 2nd Multiple channels of distribution is needed. It has to be supplied to various platforms including local broadcasting, SO and etc. In addition, it is necessary to activate regional co-production program between local terrestrial broadcasting companies and regions. Time rate between central stations and local terrestrial broadcasting companies must be distributed practically. And also, local terrestrial broadcasting companies in addition to ad revenue model to themselves and their own businesses by expanding the sponsorship to strengthen the competitiveness will have to nurture self-sustaining. Moreover they must have enlarge economy of scale through widen of broadcasting area.

  • 지상파 방송 3사(KBS, MBC, SBS)는 2017년 5월 31일부터 지상파 UHD(Ultra High Definition Television) 본방송을 개시하였다. ATSC(Advanced Television Systems Committee) 3.0 표준방식으로 이루어진 세계 최초 지상파 UHD 본방송으로써, 국내뿐만 아니라 미국, 일본, 유럽의 DTV선진국에서도 많은 관심을 보이고 있다. 본 논문에서는 시험방송 기간에 방송사와 가전사가 공동으로 실시한 ATSC 3.0 기반 지상파 UHD 본방송을 위한 물리계층 필드테스트 결과에 대해 살펴보고자 한다.

  • 브로드밴드 네트워크의 발전으로 네트워크를 통해 콘텐츠를 제공하는 TV포털이나 IPTV 서비스가 활성화되고 있으며 시청자들은 온디멘드 서비스에 익숙해지고 있다. 하지만 지상파 방송사는 방통 융합 서비스의 핵심이라고 할 수 있는 양방향 네트워크를 갖고 있지 않으므로 증가하고 있는 시청자의 온디멘드 서비스 요구에 적절히 대응하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 지상파 방송사의 입장에서는 상대적으로 운용비용이 많이 드는 인터넷과 같은 양방향 네트워크의 전송 효율을 높이기 위해 온에어 DTV 채널을 기반으로 인터넷을 접목하여 TV와 PC 나아가서는 모바일 단말과 같은 다양한 단말에서 콘텐츠와 관련 데이터를 공유할 수 있는 DTV 기반의 크로스미디어 서비스가 적합하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 이러한 크로스미디어 서비스를 제공하기 위해 필요한 콘텐츠 제작 요소기술과 온에어와 인터넷을 통해 콘텐츠와 관련 정보를 송수신하는 요소기술을 제안하는 바이다.

  • Platform operators adopted ATSC standard send only their own channel program schedule information, so in order for the viewer to see other channel information, they have to tune the channel to the other. This issue arises from the operators' lack of bandwidth and the business interest conflicts between the platform operators. This paper guides how ATSC standard could be used within Xlet based application to display other channel information through the ISG (Integrated Scheduling Guide) technology via interactive return channel services. Its own channel information can be displayed by using on-air PSIP (Program and System Information Protocol) data.

  • In this study, we research for characteristics of exportation of Korean TV dramas during 10 years. During this decade, media environment has been changed significantly : platforms have been increased and viewing attitude have been also changed. We will find out these changes in TV exportation : types of TV rights, price per countries, frequency of trade per countries, etc. For this, export records of 2 Korean TV stations from 2005 to 2014 have been obtained. As a result, export countries have been diversed, price have been increased and types of TV rights also have been various.
