  • Recently, a variety of algorithms using encryption technology have been adopted as methods of unlocking smartphone. It is advancing toward the direction to solve the unlocking problem through human biometrics technology, which has already succeeded in commercializing. These include finger print recognition, face recognition, and iris recognition. In this study, the evaluation items are five algorithms, including finger print recognition, face recognition, iris recognition, pattern recognition, and password input method. Based on the algorithms adopted, the AHP (analytic hierarchy process) technique was used to calculate the preferred priorities for smartphone users. Finger print recognition ( .400) was the top priority for smartphone users. Next, pattern recognition ( .237) was placed in the second priority for smartphone users. Therefore, based on the results of the analysis, the limitations of the study and theoretical implications are suggested.

  • This paper describes novel scheme of a gray scale capacitive fingerprint image for high-accuracy capacitive sensor chip. The typical gray scale image scheme used a DAC of big size layout or charge-pump circuit of non-volatile memory with high power consumption and complexity by a global clock signal. A modified capacitive detection circuit of charge sharing scheme is proposed, which uses DLC(down literal circuit) based on a neuron MOS(vMOS) and analog simple multiplexor. The detection circuit is designed and simulated in 3.3V, $0.35{\mu}m$ standard CMOS process. Because the proposed circuit does not need a comparator and peripheral circuits, a pixel layout size can be reduced and the image resolution can be improved.

  • Biometric information such as face and fingerprint information is highlighted in many security areas, including authentication, due to its uniqueness and convenience factors. However, if exploited maliciously, it can cause more serious damage than traditional security measures, like passwords. This paper reviews the watermarking method that is able to verify the integrity of this biometric information. The watermark to be inserted is the date of the biometric information acquisition. It is combined with 16-bit Cyclic Redundancy Checks prior to insertion. In particular, face and fingerprint images are saved in a specific compressed format. The proposed watermarking algorithm will be designed in such a way as to remain resilient against compression. The watermark inserted at the acquisition stage will be extracted at each storage and deployment stage, so that the integrity of the biometric information can be verified.

  • The drastic growth of mobile communication and spreading of smart phone make the significant attention on Location Based Service. The one of most important things for vitalization of LBS is the accurate estimating position for mobile object. Focusing on AP's probabilistic position estimation, we develop an AP distribution map and new pattern matching algorithm for position estimation. The developed approaches can strengthen the advantages of Radio fingerprint based Wi-Fi Positioning System, especiall on the algorithms and data handling. Compared on the existing approaches of fingerprint pattern matching algorithm, we achieve the comparable higher performance on both of average error of estimation and deviation of errors. Furthermore all fingerprint data have been harvested from the actual measurement of radio fingerprint of Seoul, Kangnam area. This can approve the practical usefulness of proposed methodology.

  • In the modern electronic world, the authentication of a person is an important task in many areas of online-transactions. Using biometrics to authenticate a person's identity has several advantages over the present practices of Personal Identification Numbers(PINs) and passwords. To gain maximum security in the verification system using biometrics, the computation of the verification as well as the store of the biometric pattern has to be taken place in the security token(smart card, USB token). However, there is an open issue of integrating biometrics into the security token because of its limited resources(memory space, processing power). In this paper, we describe our implementation of the USB security token system having 206MHz StrongARM CPU, 16MBytes flash memory, and 1MBytes RAM. Also, we evaluate the performance of a light-weighted In-gerprint verification algorithm that can be executed in the restricted environments. Based on experimental results, we confirmed that the RAM requirement of the proposed algorithm was about 6.8 KBytes and the Equal Error Rate(EER) was 1.7%.

  • Currently, various security technologies such as fingerprint recognition and face recognition are being developed. However, although many technologies have been developed, the field of incorporating technologies is quite limited. In particular, it is easy to adapt modern security technologies into existing digital systems, but it is difficult to introduce new digital technologies in systems using analog systems. However, if the system can be widely used, it is worth replacing the analog system with the digital system. Therefore, the selected topic is the electronic attendance system. In this paper, a camera is installed to a door to perform a Haar-like feature training for face detecting and real-time face recognition with a Eigenface in principal component analysis(PCA) based face recognition using raspberry pi. The collected data was transmitted to the smartphone using wireless communication, and the application for the viewer who can receive and manage the information on the smartphone was completed.

  • Biometric information does not need to be stored separately, and there is no risk of loss and no theft. For this reason, it has been attracting attention as an alternative authentication means for existing authentication means such as passwords and authorized certificates. However, there may be a privacy problem due to leakage of personal information stored in the server. To overcome these weaknesses, FIDO solved the problem of leakage of personal information on the server by using biometric information stored on the user device and authenticating. In this paper, we propose a multiple biometric authentication method that can be used in FIDO environment. In order to utilize multiple biometric information, fingerprints and EEG signals can be generated and used in FIDO system. The proposed method can solve the problem due to limitations of existing 2-factor authentication system by authentication using multiple biometric information.
