  • There are currently tremendous amount of geotechnical information saved, which has been qcquired for essential application of site selection, plan, design, constructin, repari in the builing work. However, due to the lack of the location data attribute, there has been a trouble in its analysis and GIS implementation. In this study, the geotechnical information aquisition program(PGeo) for real-time database in the field and geotechnical information reporting program(GeoReport) by Web-GIS for additional data input and its reporting function has been developed.

  • The vascular plants species were summarized as 479 taxa: 89 families, 260 gents, 404 species, 66 varieties, 8 forms and 1 hybrid in the whole 6 surveyed areas of eastern parts of Jirisan (Georim Valley, Baengmudong Valley, Hanshin Valley, Jungsanri Valley, Sesokpyongjeon, and Chonwangbong). Based on the list of Korean endemic plants, 26 species were recorded: Athyrium excelsius (Aspidiaceae), Abies koreana (Pinaceae), Betula ermani var. saitoana (Betulaceae) etc. The special plants from the list of Ministry of Forest, the Forest Research Institute (1997) and the Ministry of Environment (2001), 15 species were recorded: Smilacina bicolor (Liliaceae), Disporum ovale (Liliaceae), Clematis chiisanensis (Ranunculaceae) etc. And 15 species of naturalized plants were recorded: Oenothera biennis (Onagraceae), Ambrosia artemisiaefolia (Asteraceae), Carduus crispus (Asteraceae), etc. Especially, the Korean endemic plants repeatedly appeared around mountain-trails and Ambrosia artemisiaefolia (Asteraceae), also, popular were distributed in the entire studied areas.

  • Coastal dunes have many environmental and ecological socio-economic importances; various human activities, however, have impaired their structures and functions over the years. In 2016, environmental survey on coastal sand dune was carried out to report the present status and update the coastal sand dune list in 2001. This research analyzed the survey data in terms of geomorphological and socio-economic aspects. A list of the 189 coastal sand dune and information was updated by province. A 36.5% reduction in coastal sand dune area have been identified for using agricultural land, development area since the approximately 1940-50s. Development area in coastal sand dune covered small area as 5%, the use intensity was relatively hard. Furthermore, the difference by province also showed. Approximately 80% of the development area was concentrated in 20% of total sand dune several sand dune. It is generally accepted that coastal sand dunes were exposed high development pressure. However the result means that the general brief dose not apply for all sand dune. Therefore, characteristics of each sand dune should be analyzed and concerned the diverse management plans.

  • In general bathymetric surveying is the method which gets depth. The water depth on chart is generally measured by a 200Khz frequency echo-sounder. In this study the thickness of the floating silt-clay was measured by a duel frequency sounder using 33Khz and 200Khz. This study shows the method of measuring the volume of the floating silt-clay in dredged basins dredged basin. After this surveying RI test was performed for verifying the existence of the silt-clay.

  • The subjects of this study are to examine and to apply the methods of making 1 : 10,000 scale digital maps using Russian's 2 m resolution satellite images of Alternative and 8 m resolution stereo satellite images of MK-4 for the Kyoha area of Paju-city where aerial-photo surveying is not possible. A digital elevation model (DEM) was calculated from MK-4 images. With this DEM, the Alternative images were orthorectified. Ground control points (GCP) were acquired from GPS surveyings and were used to perform geometric corrections on Alternative images. From field investigation, thematic attributes are digitized on the monitor. RMS errors of the planar and vertical positions are estimated to ${\pm}0.4$ m and ${\pm}15$ m, respectively. The planar accuracy is better than an accuracy required by NGIS (national GIS) programs. Local information from field investigation was added and the resulting maps should be good as base maps for, such as, regional and urban plannings.

  • This study was carried out to elucidate floristic data of Chirisan National Park by performing practical field investigation for 1 year and literatures survey simultaneously in 2004. The data from field study were yielded based on voucher specimens. Total number and components of flora of Chirisan National Park is revealed as 1,825 taxa. Among 1,825 taxa, 708 taxa were identified in this field study, and these were comprised 37 orders, 109 families, 382 genera, 590 species 3 subspecies 95 varities 20 forms. Unconfirmed taxa in field but recorded previous literatures were 1,117 taxa, which consist of 41 orders 130 families 500 genera 901 species 9 subspecies 140 varities 67 forms. In conclusion, there may be provisionally 1,825 (708+1,117) taxa in Chirisan National Park. The 43 taxa were firstly found out in this field study. In the floristic data from field study, the number of Korean endemic plants were 31 taxa, the rare and endangered plants which was designated by Korea Forest Service were 21 taxa, the taxa that is more than the third degree among the floristic regional indicator plants which was designated by Korean Ministry of Environment were 40 taxa, and naturalized alien plants to Korea were 27 taxa respectively. Among 1,117 taxa which were not found in this study but recorded in 22 previous literatures, the number of Korean endemic plants were 45 taxa, the rare and endangered plants which was designated by Korea Forest Service were 45 taxa, the taxa that is more than the third degree among the floristic regional indicator plants which was designated by Ministry of Environment were 121 taxa, and naturalized alien plants to Korea were 31 taxa. It can be inferred that the vegetation of Chirisan National Park was changing by some factors and valuable plant resources were tend to diminishing by such as human interference and developments.

  • This floristic study was conducted from April to September, 2014 in 12 days. The investigated area was Mt. Segeolsan (1,261 m) which is the part of Chirisan National Park and its neighbor region, Goan-ri, Sandeuk-ri. Based on voucher specimens, flora of this area consisted of 108 families, 376 genera, 584 species, 5 subspecies, 73 varieties, and 16 forma, totally 679 taxa. 17 taxa were endemic to Korea such as Carex okamotoi Ohwi, Cimicifuga austrokoreana H.W. Lee & C.W. Park., Thalictrum rochebrunianum var. grandisepalum (H.Lév.) Nakai, Fallopia koreana B.U. Oh & J.G. Kim, Asarum patens (Yamaki) Yamaki ex Y.N. Lee, and Stewartia pseudocamellia Maxim. etc. Among these species, C. austrokoreana, T. rochebrunianum var. grandisepalum, F. koreana, A. patens are considered having a southern boundary line of distribution in the Chirisan National Park region. And so Carex okamotoi has main distribution center in the Chirisan National Park region, this study region is assumed important in phytogeography. The useful plants were 633 taxa, ethonobotanic plants were 359 taxa in this area. Invasive alien species were 61 taxa, which were naturalized rate (9.0%) and urbanized index (17.4%).
