Habitat Type Classification System of Korean National Parks (국립공원 서식지 유형 분류 체계 구축)

  • This study was conducted to develop a habitat type classification system and its map based on the ecological characteristics of species, spatial type, vegetation, topography, and geological conditions preferred by species. To evaluate the relationships between species and their habitats in Korean national parks, we prepared a classification standard table for systematic classification of habitat types. This classification system divides habitats into 6 low-level and 59 mid-level ecological classes based on habitat structure. The mid-level system divided forest ecosystems into 20 subtypes, stream and wetland ecosystems into 8 types, coastal ecosystems into 7 types, arable land into 6 types, development land into 9 types, and 1 type of marine ecosystem. A habitat classification map was drawn utilizing square images, detailed vegetation maps, and forest stand maps, based on the above habitat classification system, and it covered 1,461 plots spanning 21 national parks. The habitat classification system and survey protocol, which consider domestic habitat conditions, should be further developed and applied to habitat assessment, to enhance the utility of this study.

Nursing Performance and Organizational Socialization of New Nurses according to Teaching Style of Preceptors and Personality of New Nurses (프리셉터의 지도유형과 신규간호사의 성격특성에 따른 신규간호사의 간호업무수행과 조직사회화)

  • Purpose: In this study, we examined the differences and relationship between teaching style of preceptors, and personality, nursing performance, and organizational socialization of new nurses. Methods: The participants were 118 new nurses. The data collected from March to May 2011 were analyzed using descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficients. Results: Teaching style of preceptors was most frequently judgement-initiative, and personality of new nurses was most frequently extraversion. Nursing performance ($3.05{\pm}.59$) and organizational socialization ($3.05{\pm}.59$) of new nurses were at an average level. Nursing performance and organizational socialization of new nurses were not significantly different according to teaching style of preceptors. Significant correlations were found between personality and nursing performance, and between personality and organizational socialization. Conclusion: These findings indicate that changes in perceived teaching style of preceptors and personality of new nurses may be necessary to increase efficiency of preceptorship related to nursing performance and organizational socialization of new nurses. The above-mentioned results should be reflected in the development of effective preceptor training programs.

Analysis of Misunderstood Types Relate to Trigonometric Function and Its Teaching Method (삼각함수에 관한 오류 유형 분석과 그 지도 방법)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze students misunderstood types relate to trigonometric function and to devise its teaching method using GSP. To do this, we performed several steps as followings: First, we performed questionnaire survey to 70 students belong to second year at high school to find students comprehension degree about radian angle representation and trigonometric function graph. Second, we devised the teaching-learning materials relate to trigonometric function graph using GSP. And then, we used them in the class of 35 students who are at the time to learn trigonometric function in the first year at high school. Third, we conducted Questionnaire survey to students studied through teaching and learning materials using GSP. As a result of doing the survey, we found that general students were interested in the class using GSP and they could also operate computer without difficulty.

Differences in Job Stress, and Job Satisfaction according to Teaching Style, and Personality of Preceptors (프리셉터의 지도유형과 성격특성에 따른 직무스트레스와 직무만족도의 차이)

  • Purpose: In this study, differences and relationship between teaching style, personality, job stress, and job satisfaction among preceptors were examined. Method: The participants were 121 preceptors. Data were collected in November and December 2010 and analyzed using descriptive statistics, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, and Pearson correlation coefficients. Results: The most frequent teaching style was judgement-initiative, and personality scores were highest for conscientiousness. Job stress was average (3.05${\pm}$.59), and job satisfaction was below the mid-point level (2.76${\pm}$.39). Job stress and job satisfaction were significantly different according to teaching style. Significant correlations were found between personality and job stress, and personality and job satisfaction. Conclusion: These findings indicate that changes in perceived teaching style, and personality may be necessary to decrease job stress, and to promote job satisfaction among preceptors. The results of this study should be considered in the development of effective preceptor training programs.

Factors Influencing Mothers' Perceptions about Types and Causes of Young Children's Challenging Behaviors on Mothers' Use of Instructional Methods: Comparison of Mothers between Children with and without Disabilities (유아의 문제행동 유형·원인에 대한 모의 인식 특성과 문제행동 지도방법에 미치는 영향요인 연구: 장애·비 장애유아 모의 비교)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine types, causes and instructional methods of challenging behaviors perceived by mothers of young children with and without disabilities. Then it was also to determine influencing factors of mothers' socio-demographic variables and mothers' perceptions of types and causes of young children's challenging behaviors on using instructional methods perceived by the mothers. The subjects were 176 mothers of young children aged from two to six including 100 mothers of young children without disabilities and 76 mothers of young children with disabilities in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. Results showed that first, there were significant differences in areas on internalized challenging behaviors and avoidance of social activities for the types of challenging behaviors. Second, on the cause of challenging behaviors, areas on children's behaviors and nature had significant differences between the groups. Third, on instructional method of challenging behaviors, there were significant differences on areas of establishing supportive environment and social and emotional strategies. Lastly, for the mothers of young children without disabilities, mothers' educational background and children's nature area as cause of challenging behaviors significantly affected instructional methods. For the mothers of young children with disabilities, family's income and others area as cause of challenging behaviors affected instructional methods. Developing practical application strategies were suggested based on the results. Research limitations and further research suggestions were also discussed.

An Analysis of Korean Language Learners' Understanding According to the Types of Terms in School Mathematics (수학과 용어 유형에 따른 한국어학습자의 이해 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics and types of errors in the conceptual image of Korean language learners according to the types of terms in mathematics that are the basis for solving mathematical word problems, and to prepare basic data for effective teaching and learning methods in solving the word problems of Korean language learners. To do this, a case study was conducted targeting four Korean language learners to analyze the specific conceptual images of terms registered in curriculum and terms that were not registered in curriculum but used in textbooks. As a result of this study, first, it is necessary to guide Korean language learners by using sufficient visualization material so that they can form appropriate conceptual definitions for terms in school mathematics. Second, it is necessary to understand the specific relationship between the language used in the home of Korean language learners and the conceptual image of terms in school mathematics. Third, it is necessary to pay attention to the passive term, which has difficulty in understanding the meaning rather than the active term. Fourth, even for Korean language learners who do not have difficulties in daily communication, it is necessary to instruct them on everyday language that are not registered in the curriculum but used in math textbooks. Fifth, terms in school mathematics should be taught in consideration of the types of errors that reflect the linguistic characteristics of Korean language learners shown in the explanation of terms. This recognition is expected to be helpful in teaching word problem solving for Korean language learners with different linguistic backgrounds.

Representation Types of Gog and Magog in Old Western Maps (서양고지도에 나타난 곡과 마곡의 표현 유형)

  • For the study of the development of Asia map made by european map makers, one should consider Gog and Magog which existed in the maps for more than 700 years. Gog and Magog are described as an apocalyptic people in the Bible and medieval literature, and they are important elements in medieval mappaemundi and early modem world maps. This study classified representation types of Gog and Magog in old western maps. Maps were classed in to six categories according to the location and ethnic groups which they represent, and they were discussed in cartographic context. The maps until the fourteenth century place Gog and Magog, shut up by Alexander, near Caspian Sea. In the fifteenth century, Gog and Magog were described as Closed Jews in maps. From the sixteenth century they appear in the far northeastern part of Asia and they are named as Amagog or Ung and Mongul. In the mid-seventeenth century, they are located in Eastern Siberia by French cartographers. But with the expansion of geographic knowledge, Gog and Magog disappeared completely in the eighteenth century. In general, God and Magog were represented on the basis of traditional lore rather than on the Bible, and they became one means of mapping others of European community.

A Study on the Urban Climate Mapping Method Using GIS (GIS를 이용한 도시기후지도 제작방안 연구)

  • The objective of this study is 10 investigate the method to produce urban climate map so as to cope with climate change and efficiently control greenhouse gas in the city by using GIS. To produce urban climate map by using GIS, statistical data and spatial data of greenhouse gases related to climate change were collected and analyzed and the correlation between the type of urban climatop and urban climate change was analyzed by establishing GIS framework data construction method to prepare urban climate map and preparing and analyzing urban climate map related to the demonstration area. It was found that exact greenhouse gases emission quantity and absorption quantity can be calculated for each type of urban climatop by preparing urban climate map and the temperature is high in residential area, commercial area and industrial area and the emission quantity per unit area is high in the traffic area and industrial area. It seems that the influence of climate change can be presented for urban development by suggesting urban climate change for type of urban climatop and they can be utilized to save energy in urban area and to establish greenhouse gases reducing policy.

  • 자동차 항법장치의 디스플레이는 도로, 교통정보, 부가정도 등 ITS 정보를 운전자에게 직접전달 하는 부분으로 그 핵샘부품인 도로지도는 정보의 정확성 및 신뢰성의 획득과 함께 운전자의 안전 및 수 행도 향상 항법장치의 사용성 향상을 위하여 운전자가 쉽고 빠르고 정확하게 자신이 원하는 정보를 획 득할 수 있도록 운전자 중심의 설계가 실시되어야 한다. 이에 97년 G7 Navigation 시스템 제작기술 프 로젝트의 일환으로 실시된 본 연구는 지도의 회전방법(map-rotation)방법인 Heading-Up 및 North-Up 과 지도상 지형지물 명칭 문자정보의 회전(text-rota-tion)을 실험변수로 하여 운전자의 반응시간 에러발 생 정신적부하의 측면에서 교차로 유형별 지도진행방법에 따른 인간공학적 평가를 실시한다. 본 연구의 결과로 한국인의 정보인지 형태에 적합한 항법장치 도로지도 진행방법을 제시하며 각 진행방법의 특징 및 운전자의 정보인지에 영향을 주는 요인을 추출한다.
