  • 지그비 보안 인증 방법은 총 4가지가 있으며, 하나의 네트워크는 특정 인증 방법을 선택하여 그 인증방법을 통해서만 보안 인증이 가능하다. 이는 효율적이고 유연한 지그비 네트워크를 구성하는 데의 한계점으로 작용하기에, 본 논문에서는 현재 표준 인증 방법의 한계점과 동적 인증 방법의 필요성, 동적인증을 위한 표준 프로토콜 수정 내용을 제시한다. 이를 통해 타 네트워크와의 인증, 인증 방법의 다양성 부여를 통한 보안성 강화가 가능하다.

An Transmission Time Allocation Scheme in ZigBee Network (지그비 네트워크에서의 전송 시간 할당 방법)

  • When ZigBee network supports beacon transmission mechanism, ZigBee devices have the restriction of the transmission range from the coordinator. On the contrary, when it does not support beacon transmission, it is not easy to save the energy through turning into sleep mode. This paper proposes active slot allocation method that allocates a transmission time and does not use the beacon transmission mechanism. It is based on the ZigBee's distributed address assignment mechanism and supports the scalability. This paper explains the active slot structure and the allocation order and describes the operation of ZigBee devices. We verify the proposed mechanism through the simulation and show the performance evaluation. It can be useful on the industrial automation and the environmental surveillance.

  • The coordination of distributed entities and events requires time synchronization. Precision time synchronization enables a variety of extensions of applications and provides much accurate information. The IEEE 1588 precision time protocol (PTP) provides a standard method to synchronize devices in a network. This paper deals with the design and implementation of a PTP gateway to extend IEEE 1588 to Zigbee networks. The PTP gateway can not only extend IEEE 1588 to Zigbee networks but also share the same time reference using IEEE 1588 between two or more Zigbee networks. This paper also presents experiments and performance evaluation of time synchronization using the PTP gateway. Our result established a method for nodes in a network to maintain their clocks to within a 300 nanosecond offset from the reference clock of a master node via Ethernet.

  • Recent advances in wireless communication, electronics, MEMS device, sensor and battery technology have made it possible to manufacture low-cost, low-power, multi-function tiny sensor nodes. A large number of tiny sensor nodes form sensor network through wireless communication. Sensor networks represent a significant improvement over traditional sensors, research on Zigbee wireless image transmission has been a topic in industrial and scientific fields. In this paper, we design a Zigbee wireless image sensor node and multimedia monitoring server system. It consists of embedded processor, memory, CMOS image sensor, image acquisition and processing unit, Zigbee RF module, power supply unit and remote monitoring server system. In the future, we will further improve our Zigbee wireless image sensor node and monitoring server system. Besides, energy-efficient Zigbee wireless image transmission protocol and interworking with mobile network will be our work focus.

  • ZigBee based on the most vulnerable part of u-Healthcare system that uses the ZigBee communication is the wireless section. ZigBee communication sectors to identify vulnerabilities in this paper, we propose to compensate. ZigBee has been raised from the existing vulnerabilities organize and ZigBee also uses the 64bit address that uniquely identifies a vulnerability that was defined as exposure. And to prevent the exposure of a unique identifying address was used to address a temporary identification. ZigBee security services, the proposed system during the Network Key for encryption only use one mechanism of Residential Mode is used. Residential Mode on all nodes of the entire network because they use a common key, the key is stolen, your network's security system at a time are at risk of collapse. Therefore, in order to guard against these risks to the security policy Network Key updated periodically depending on the method used to. The proposed evaluation and comparative analysis of the system were exposed in the existing system can hide the address that uniquely identifies a public key Network Key also updated periodically, so that leaks can occur due to reduced risk.

  • The conventional channel selection method for a ZigBee communication network basically detects the energy values in all channels. In the ISM band, no license is required to use channels in this band, so there may exist various interference factors in this band. It is well known that WLAN is the major interference factor degrading the performance of ZigBee in the ISM band. In this paper, we propose an efficient channel selection algorithm which uses the pattern of WLAN channel uses as the a priori information. By using the proposed algorithm, we may save the time required to select channels for the ZigBee communications.

  • 홈 네트워크 산업은 인간의 욕구와 맞물려 앞으로의 발전 가능성이 큰 분야이다. 미 가전협회의 조사에 따르면 소비자들도 홈 네트워크 시스템에 많은 관심을 가지고 있고, 애널리스트 샘 루세노는 "홈 오토메이션 시장은 해를 거듭할수록 규모가 커질 것이다."라고 예상하고 있다. 최근 네트워크 기술은 유선에서 무선으로 발전되고 있으며 홈 네트워크 서비스에는 유선보다 무선 네트워크 기술이 많이 쓰이고 있다. 본 논문에서는 각종 무선 네트워크 통신 기술에 대해 비교분석하고 홈 네트워크 서비스와의 연관성을 살펴보기 위하여 현재 홈 네트워크 서비스에 널리 사용되고 있는 무선 네트워킹 기술인 IEEE 802.11 무선랜 그룹과, IEEE 802.14.1의 블루투스 및 IEEE 802.14.5에 정의된 지그비 통신 기술에 대한 비교분석 한다.

  • ZigBee networks developed for low power and short range communication are being used as home network solution for ubiquitous computing. However, as smart phones and tablet PCs have been widely used, WLANs which use same frequency with ZigBee networks have been increasingly used. Therefore, radio frequency interference causes many problems. To solve radio frequency interference problem among ZigBee networks and WLANs, many researches focus on designing interference minimization schemes in ZigBee networks. However, existing schemes have problems that have waste of resource for detecting interference, and have unnecessary time to avoid interference. In this paper, we propose an interference minimization scheme to solve radio frequency interference in ZigBee networks. The proposed scheme detects interference using ACK mechanism to reduce waste of resource, and avoids interference using table driven channel hopping scheme which is faster than existed schemes. The performance of proposed interference minimization scheme is evaluated by using OPNET simulator. Through the simulation result, we prove that proposed scheme has faster channel hopping than existing schemes.

A study on the implementation and performance evaluation of low-power ZigBee sensor in the M2M gateway system (M2M Gateway 시스템을 위한 저전력 지그비 센서 구현 및 성능평가에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes the implementation of a ZigBee sensor node that can be utilized as a multiband and machine to machine (M2M) communication gateway. The IEEE 802.15.4-2003 standard was used as the wireless network frequency band. Ember's Type EM357 SoC was used as the transmission and reception device to perform the communication function, and it was also used for both the main M2M gateway and the sensor node. For the implementation of the operating protocol, EmberZNet Stack 4.5.4 from the Ember Corporation was used. The measurement of the reception sensitivity in the receiving module and the actual output signal from the reference were obtained from the transmission of a packet, and the packet included the M2M gateway within the attached ZigBee sensor. The packet error rate was measured as 0% with a -98 dBm reception sensitivity at the ZigBee frequency. In addition, excellent current characteristics of the ZigBee modules were shown by the implementation of the low-power circuit.

  • Wireless sensor networks consist of resource constraint devices which typically send data measured by sensors attached to the end devices towards a coordinator. One of the best solution for wireless sensor networks is ZigBee, where it is wireless standard introduced for low power, low cost wireless communication with moderate data rates. In this paper, we present porting of Z-Stack and implementation of UART on the TI CC2530. We show that our implemented board works correctly in terms of transmitting and receiving data via serial port.
