A convergence study of cervical cancer knowledge and health belief affecting male non-health related majoring students' HPV vaccination intentions (비 보건계열 남자대학생의 인유두종 바이러스 예방접종 의도에 영향하는 자궁경부암 지식 및 건강신념 융합연구)

  • This study is to investigate the HPV vaccination intention among male university students by cervical cancer knowledge and health belief. A sample of 159 male non-health related majoring students was asked to respond to a self-administrated questionnaire about the intention to inject HPV vaccine, knowledges of cervical cancer, and the level of health belief. T-test, ANOVA, pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple group analysis were utilized. Vaccination intention had a positive relation with knowledge of cervical cancer(${\beta}=.200$, p=.01). Health belief was also related with the vaccination intention. There was a significant relation between the vaccination intention and perceived seriousness (${\beta}=.362$, p=.01). This study suggested that the health and HPV convergent education at least as an extracurricular course should be offer to male university students for them to develop an intention to HPV vaccination.

  • This study is to investigate the knowledge and attitudes of personal hygiene impact on practices of lactating women in Senegal by applying the Health Belief Model. The subjects were 217 lactating Women aged between 15 and 35 in Dakar, Senegal. Data collected from December 2 to 8, 2017. This study used structured questionnaires and all collected were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 22.0 and AMOS 21.0. Data were analyzed with real numbers, percentages, means, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, and path analysis. The results of path analysis, personal hygiene knowledge, perceived sensitivity, perceived severity, perceived threats, perceived benefits, and perceived disabilities are factors that influenced personal hygiene practices, accounting for 87.7% in the practices variance of personal hygiene.

The Influence of Cervical cancer, HPV knowledge and health beliefs on HPV Vaccination among Undergraduate Students (남녀 대학생의 자궁경부암에 관한 지식 및 건강신념이 인유두종바이러스 예방접종에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of cervical cancer knowledge, HPV knowledge, and health beliefs on HPV vaccination. The survey was conducted to undergraduate students of the university in Chungbuk province. Total 271 copies were used in the final analysis. The mean score of cervical cancer and HPV knowledge level was very low(5.34/26). The health beliefs about HPV, the perceived benefit(2.58), perceived barrier(2.52), perceived seriousness(2.49) were generally low level. Especially the perceived susceptibility(1.77) was very low. HPV vaccination rate should be rise 1.229 times(p<.01) and 1.567 times(p<.05), if the cervical cancer knowledge and perceived benefit of HPV vaccination would be that each rise 1unit. In conclusion, The educational strategy would be needed to strengthen the perceived benefit and as well as to increase the cervical cancer knowledge and perceived susceptibility about HPV.

  • This study was to develope a structural model for risk perception and individual response against terrorism, including several psychological factors - cognitive, social and emotional factors. In this model we measured perceived probability of terrorism, perceived seriousness of the aftermath, and perceived coping(cognitive factors), trust in authorities, in expert group and in preparedness of institutions(social factors), fear and worry(emotional factors), individual preparedness, information seeking, information analysis, and checking relational network(individual behavior responses). Major finding was that cognitive and social factors influenced on emotional factors and then emotional factors influenced on the individual responses. The perceived coping, which one of cognitive factors was linked with individual responses directly and indirectly via emotion factors. We discussed the importance of perceived coping in preparing for terrorism.

  • Recently, as internet shopping mall users rapidly, a form of shopping changed from off line to on line. The rapid growth of customers and transaction volume through evolution of new media, internet, brings new problems to internet marketers. It is the most important task that how internet shopping mall operators obtain their customers trust and repeat buying. This empirical research investigates online shoppers for their trust dimensions for online retailers. The study aimed to determine whether e-trust antecedents(perceived reputation, perceived quality, perceived value) influence trust dimension and whether the multidimensional trust contributed differently to perceived risk and willingness to depend on e-retailers. Consequences of the research are as follows: First, it reveals that of reputation, web site quality of the internet shopping mall have influence upon trust dimension. Second, the higher level of trust consumers have, the higher level of willingness to depend and intent to revisit on the retailers they have. But level of perceive risk consumers have not influences on willingness to depend on the retailers. It is necessary for internet shopping mall to development its reputation and familiarity to obtain customer's trust. Accordingly, this research will be helping internet shopping mall insight for marketing strategies, constantly should study about action and mind of consumer.

Development and Validation of Situation Awareness Tests for Commercial Drivers (사업용 운전자를 위한 상황인식 검사의 개발과 타당화)

  • This research aimed to investigate whether commercial drivers' situation awareness ability is related to their frequency and magnitude of caused accidents and penalty points. For the purpose of measuring drivers' situation perception and interpretation capacities, two tests named 'situation awareness test' and 'hazard perception test' were developed. The tests were based on the data from 299 commercial drivers (test drivers) using a driving simulator. The outcome of drivers' performance on situation awareness and hazard perception tests was designed to be categorized into 5 grades, classifying the best as grade 1 and the worst as grade 5. As the result, low grades on situation awareness test had positive relationship with accumulated penalty points, frequency of accidents and safety index. Grades on hazard perception test were also positively correlated with accident frequency and safety indices. This suggests situation awareness ability of commercial drivers is significantly related to traffic violations and accident causing tendencies.

The relationship between hand washing practice and health belief model of hand washing among dental practitioners (치과종사자의 손씻기에 대한 건강신념과 손씻기 수행도의 관련성)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the correlation between hand washing practice and hand washing on the health belief model among dental practitioners. A self-reported questionnaire was completed by each 140 dental practitioners in dental clinics, general and university dental hospitals. The data were analyzed statistically with t-test, 1-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient test(${\alpha}=.05$). The hand washing practice showed a quantitative linear relationship(p<0.01) of r=0.285 with the hand washing on health belief. In order to prevent hospital infection of dental practitioners working in dental clinics or general and university dental hospitals, health beliefs about hand washing consisting of perceived susceptibility, perceived seriousness, perceived benefit, perceived barriers, and cues to action in infection control education should be considered.

  • This study was carried out to provide basic data for the development of an educational program by assessing the its effects on the MDROs infection management performances of nurses at general hospitals. Data was obtained through a structured questionnaire survey conducted on 202 nurses. The average of knowledge score was 17.68 and their perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, and performances had correlation. There was difference in their performances in accordance with their general characteristics including marriage, clinical experiences, positions, and affiliated department. Factors that affected MDROs infection management performance included perceived benefits and affiliated department with an explanation power of 35%. Therefore, it is necessary to emphasize the benefits by including advantages and effects of performing the MDROs infection control at the time of the development. In addition, nurses are required to have MDROs infection control education.

  • As the coronavirus disease(COVID-19) pandemic is declared and the number of confirmed cases and deaths increases in countries around the world, the world is gripped with fear. Therefore, in this study, psychological factors of infection prevention behaviors of firefighters and maritime police officers were analyzed based on the Health Belief Model. Although there was no significant difference in the COVID-19 prevention behaviors between the two groups, there was a significant positive correlation between the perceived disease infection possibility, perceived severity, and perceived benefits in the general characteristics and the COVID-19 prevention behaviors. There was no significant difference with perceived obstacles. This study is of great significance in that it is the first analysis of firefighters and maritime police officers as a health belief model, and can be used as basic data for the implementation of new infectious disease prevention actions.

  • This study aims to provide basic information on how to secure competitiveness of companies from a practical point of view by examining how information sharing for companies' infection prevention and service quality improvement affects revisit intentions. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, 341 visitors over the age of 19 who visited offline stores located in Busan and Gyeongnam were selected as study subjects. As a result of this study, it was found that consumers' perceived health beliefs, perceived disease infection probability, and perceived disease infection severity had a significant effect on revisit intention. In addition, it was found that the company's infection prevention information sharing and infection prevention customer management had a significant mediating effect on the relationship between perceived health beliefs and revisit intention. Based on these research results, the conclusion suggested that a company needs a series of management activities that can contribute to the sharing of information on infection prevention and customer management among members of the organization and achievement of business performance.
