Study on the Accelerating Effect of an Accelerating Unit in Grinding using Machining Center (MC를 이용한 연삭시 증속기의 증속효과에 관한 연구)

  • A problem in the grinding with a small diametric wheel is the decrease of wheel speed. In order to resolve this problem, an accelerating unit which increases the wheel speed is recommended. In this paper, the accelerating effect of an accelerating unit has been investigated through the side-cut grinding experiments performed with a vitrified bonded CBN wheel in a machining center(MC). The static stiffness, normal force, and machining error were measured in the experiments. As the accelerating unit is attached on the column of machining center, the static stiffness of tool system is largely decreased. But as the wheel speed increased by the accelerating unit, this problem is overcome and machining efficiency is improved. The lesser the quill stiffness was, the higher the accelerating effect became.

  • 복잡한 지형에서 컴퓨터를 이용한 물리적 기반 수치모의는 합리적인 시간내에 연산을 완료하기 위해 대개 큰 연산장비 들을 요구한다. 더욱이 모의되는 현상이 시간단계마다 갱신되어지는 동역학적 현상에 기반된 비정상상태일 때 연산성능은 고려되어지는 가장 중요한 주제가 될 수 있다. 연산 시간을 줄이기 위한 가장 널리 이용되는 전략중의 하나는 적절한 수의 프로세서를 이용하는 병렬 기법이다. 최근 들어 연산속도를 가속화하기 위해 다수의 코어를 이용한 OpenMP 와 MPI 기법들이 병렬해석기법으로 대두되었고 그래픽 연산장치를 이용한 병렬처리 해석기법도 소개되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 중앙연산장치를 이용한 병렬 해석기법을 이용하여 제내지 침수해석의 적용성을 검토하고 그 결과을 비교하였다. 본 연구를 위해 OpenMP 병렬기법을 이용하여 확산파 침수해석 프로그램의 원시코드를 재작성하여 가상 및 실제 유역에 적용하였다. 해석결과는 분산메모리 병렬해석 기법인 MPI를 도입한 모형의 결과와 비교되었다. OpenMP를 도입한 모형과 MPI를 도입한 경우 유량 및 수심의 경우 오차 허용 한계내에 수렴되어 만족되었으나 그러나 연산 속도의 경우 두 기법간의 자료의 저장 방법 차이로 인해 차이를 나타내었다. 가상 유역에 적용된 결과로 검토된 각 기법의 증속(speedup) 효과는 MPI의 경우 4 코어를 이용하였을 때 최고 2.62 배 정도에 도달하는 것으로 나타났다. OpenMP 를 적용한 경우 2.87 배 정도로 나타나 OpenMP 를 이용하였을 때 증속효과가 조금 더 뛰어났다. 이는 두 기법의 메모리 저장방식의 차이로 인해 자료의 전송량과 전송 시간이 적은 OpenMP 를 도입한 모형에서 MPI 모형 보다 상대적으로 뛰어난 결과를 나타내었다. 실제 유역의 적용을 위해 상대적으로 우수한 증속결과를 나타낸 OpenMP를 도입한 모형을 Malpasset 댐 붕괴 유역에 적용하였다. 적용된 요소의 수는 각각 45254, 11352 개로 비교적 많은 요소를 가진 하류지역에 적용하여 병렬효과를 극대화하고자 하였다. 적용결과 두 경우 모두 병렬 해석 기법을 도입한 모형에서 유속과 침수심 등은 순차적 모형과 동일한 값을 나타내었으나 증속효과로 인한 연산시간은 순차적 모형에서 8.57 배로 나타나 병렬 모형의 상대적으로 빠른 연산속도를 판단할 있었다. 위의 적용결과를 통해 계산 요소들이 많은 2 차원 해석의 경우 기존의 단일 코어를 이용한 순차적 해석은 장시간에 걸치 연산시간으로 인해 작업효율이 낮아지는 결과를 발생시킬 수 있으며 병렬 해석을 도입할 경우 주어진 컴퓨터 자원를 효율적으로 이용가능하여 합리적인 연산시간으로 연산결과를 얻는 것이 가능하여 반복적 통계 기법/Ensemble 해석 등을 이용한 종합적 해석이 좀 더 실용적으로 이루어 질 수 있을 것이라고 판단되었다.

  • Railroad alignment improvements and operating speed increase occupy considerable portion in recent railroad market. Developing countries have limitations to construction of new high speed railroads due to the burden of budgets and the lack of demands, and the projects of operating speed increase arepracticallyrecommended. Thisstudy developed the methodologyto provide the railroad alignment design alternatives and the costs by upgrading the "Intelligent Railroad Alignment Design Program (ei-Rail)" which has been used to obtain the alignment plans and construction costs for railroad construction projects. The program provides the cost for alignment improvement, design drafts and the effects of operating speed increase with the input of target improvement speed and the prevailing railroad alignment on the numerical map. It is then expected for the ei-Rail program to be used for the supporting tool for the railroad alignment improvement projects.

Three-dimensional Modeling of Transient Enhanced Diffusion (과도 증속 확산(TED)의 3차원 모델링)

  • In this paper, we report the first three-dimensional simulation result of the transient enhanced diffusion(TED) of dopants in the ion-implanted silicon by employing our 3D semiconductor process simulator, INPROS system. In order to simulate three-dimensional TED redistribution of dopants in silicon, the dopant distributions after the ion implantation was calculated by Monte Carlo(MC) method, followed by finite element(FE) numerical solver for thermal annealing. Excellent agreement between the simulated 3D profile and the SIMS data has been obtained for ion-implanted arsenic and phosphorus after annealing the boron marker layer at 75$0^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours. Our three-dimensional TED simulation could successfully explain the reverse short channel effect(RSCE) by taking the 3D point defect distribution into account. A coupled TED simulation and device simulation allows reverse short channel effect on threshold to be accurately predicted.

  • 본 논문에서는 열차와 교량의 상호작용과 주행속도에 의해 결정되어지는 진동지속시간과 차체연직가속도 증폭효과를 고려하여 철도교량의 진동사용성 허용처짐을 제시하고자 하였다. 열차가 교량을 통과할 때의 처짐 형상을 사인파로 가정하고 열차와 교량의 상호작용을 진동전달함수로 표현하여 철도교량의 진동 사용성 허용처짐을 유도하였다. 그리고 진동지속시간을 고려하기 위해 연직가속도 허용기준으로서 진동지속시간을 고려한 교량구조물의 진동사용성기준을 사용하였다. 매개변수연구를 통하여 열차 주행속도의 증가에 비례하여 차체연직가속도는 증가하지만 교량최대변위의 변화는 미미함이 확인됨으로 인하여 차체연직가속도 증가와 동반하여 연직가속도 허용기준역시 증가하는 것을 보정할 필요가 있을 것으로 판단하였다. 따라서 전개된 철도교량의 진동사용성 허용처짐식에 매개변수연구를 통하여 가정한 가속도 증폭계수를 적용하여 열차의 증속에 의한 가속도증폭효과를 고려하였다.

  • We have tested the developed Korean tilting train in main exisiting commercial line for speed-up on cuve section to achive reduction effects of running time. We have conducted a trial run test to speed-up 30km/h on curves in Gyeongbu line successfully. Normal current train have been operated 110km/h in 600m radius. Yet, tilting train was tested 135km/h(maximum operation line speed) in same sections. We confirmed that the dynamic runing stability of train was safety by regarding wheel load and lateral force.

  • In a transmission or geared rotor system a coupled phenomenon of lateral and torsional vibrations may occur due to the gear meshing effect. Particularly, in high speed or low vibration and low noise applications of geared rotor systems a coupled rotordynamic analysis is required to precisely predict their dynamic characteristics. In this paper a generalized finite element model of a gear pair element is developed, which actively couples the lateral and torsional vibrations due to the gear meshing effect. In the modeling the generalized forces due to the transmission error. geometrical eccentricities. and unbalances in the gear system are also considered. Then. using the developed gear pair element model a coupled unforced rotordynamic analysis is performed with a prototype 800 RT turbo-chiller rotor-bearing system having a hull-pinion speed increasing gear. Results show that the torsional vibration characteristics experience some changes due to the gear meshing and lateral dynamic coupling effect, but that they have no adverse effect and the lateral ones have no practical changes in an operating speed range.

  • Applying a general coupled lateral and torsional vibration finite element model of gear pair element, this paper intends to look into in detail the coupled lateral and torsional vibration characteristics of a turbo-chiller rotor bearing system, having a bull-pinion speed increasing gear. Investigations have been carried out systematically by comparing the uncoupled and coupled natural frequencies and their mode shapes upon varying the gear mesh stiffness with considerations on rotating speeds, and also by comparing the strain energies of lateral and torsional vibration modes. Results hale shown that some modes may hale the coupled lateral and torsional mode characteristics as the gear mesh stiffness Increases over a certain value, and moreover that their associated dominant modes may be different from their initial modes, j.e., a certain dominant mode may change from an initial torsional one to a lateral one or from an initial lateral one to a torsional one.

  • The wheel-rail interaction forces are influenced by the velocity of vehicle, wheel load, alignment (curve radius, cant etc). For the safety of track structure, it is required to evaluate the influences for track and influential factors. Recently, the HEMU 430-X, which was developed by Next Generation High-Speed Rail Development R&D Project, achieved 421.4km/h in a test run of Daegu.Busan section of the Gyeongbu high speed rail on March in 2013. In the case of additional speed-up test on Test-Bed Section(Gongju.Jeongeup: KP 100~128km Osong starting point), the analysis of track forces is required for outer rail by the increase of dynamic force and centrifugal force of vehicle. In this paper, the vehicle speed variation on HSL line is evaluated by TPS analysis considering the tractive effort of HEMU 430-X, tested running resistance and alignment of Honam HSR. And the track forces are evaluated by centrifugal force and impact factor on curved track.

Dynamic Response and Reinforcement of the Railway Plate Girder Bridges (무도상 철도판형교의 동적응답특성 및 보강방안)

  • In this paper, the dynamic behavior of a 12m plate girder railway bridge is analyzed using the commercial FEM program. A time history load is applied to a standard train load via the shape function ofthe beam element. In addition, lateral behavior characteristics were simulated using the Klingel sine movement. A feasibility study of the FEM program and an analysis were performed by comparing the displacement and the acceleration, from the experimental data and the results of the FEM analysis. the time history of the lateral and vertical displacements are reflected in the experimental results. Six kinds of reinforcements were studied from the effects of the displacement and the acceleration. The RF-1 model that was applied to the upper lateral bracing system, and the RF-3 model that reinforced the plate, turned out to be the most effective reinforcement methods with respect to weight limits and construction simplification.
