  • There are two kinds of cost estimate system in construction in china. Quota valuation model is a traditional cost estimate system under the unity of quantity and price, which is easier and has been used for decades. But the Quota valuation model becomes increasingly unsuited to the needs of society with the development of market economy. To meet the needs of China's market economy development and construction works in the field of international cooperation, the Bill of Quantities valuation model was introduced in 2003. However, there are still many shortcomings and deficiencies in the course of implementation of Bill of Quantities valuation model. In addition, interest in the Chinese construction market continues to increase in Korea due to the recent new North Korean policy and China's the Belt and Road policy. This paper aims to examine the cost estimate system of public construction works in China, and to provide basic data for deriving future improvement plans by comparing and analyzing it with standard cost estimate system in Korea.

  • Since the late 1990s, the BOT mode in China has been extensively used in the water sector in order to attract private investment, improve technical and operational efficiency, and expand the coverage of water services. The BOT mode has been hailed as this provides a win-win structure between the government and private players through formalized procedures and an optimal risk allocation. However, recent market analyses show that some foreign investors are reluctant to participate in the market or even retreat due to uncertainties and risks in the market. This study aims to explore various risks in the Chinese water BOT market based on the thorough literature review, fieldwork, and the case studies on the two wholly foreign-owned BOT water projects: the Chengdu No. 6 and the Shanghai Dachang Water Supply BOT projects. The research results indicate that the Chinese BOT market embraces high risks in political, institutional and legal, and financial systems. The key to a successful takeoff of the BOT mode in the Chinese water market depends on the extent to which the government will be able to remove risky factors in political, institutional and legal, and financing systems. This research outcome will provide a useful reference to the Korean construction companies which consider expanding business to overseas water markets in the form of public private partnership.

Management of arts such as performance art involves organizational management, human resources management, marketing and financial management. However arts management needs a new perspective in terms of access to specific academic area of arts while it can be approached in a derivative perspective of management theories. For arts include professional areas that need aesthetic perspective and interpretation of aesthetic history. As art market were opened where active international exchanges have been made over the past ten years, a new strategic approach in management is needed for major international arts markets such as the U.S.A., Europe and China. Such international arts markets involve international auctions markets, international Biennale, international art fair and overseas advance of galleries. First, we need strategic approaches such as nurturing star artists. Second, large-scale exhibition planning of artistic works from world-famous museums or art museums should be developed.

  • This study explores and examines the impacts of the cultural characters on the brand attitude of Chinese regional consumers. This study used the 1,500 sample sized data collected from three major cities: Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. We investigate that power distance, individualism/collectivism, uncertainty avoidance and long-orientation are statistically different across cities. The empirical studies show that individualism/collectivism and uncertainty avoidance have significant impacts on the brand attitude of Chinese regional consumers. We tested that the relationship between the brand power and the brand attitude is moderated by individualism/collectivism, the results indicate that the effect of the brand power on the brand attitude is moderated by uncertainty avoidance. These results imply that Chinese consumers' culture character of individualism/collectivism and uncertainty avoidance moderate their brand attitude. Based on this results, We suggested some implications for further market segmentation strategy, brand marketing strategy, and Chinese regional consumer culture research.

  • China has achieved rapid economic growth in the late 1970s with economic reform and open-door policy. China's economic growth began initially in the eastern coastal areas and from the 2000s expanded to the western and northeastern regions where the economy was relatively underdeveloped. In particular, in 2013 'One-Belt One Road' initiative proposed by Xi Jinping, the current General Secretary of the Communist Party of China is not only a key strategy for China's advancement into the world and also provides important opportunities for the development of these backward regions. Inland Port is the inland logistics hub and plays a crucial role in enhancing access to maritime ports as well as access to adjacent inland countries. Therefore, a number of inland ports have been developed and operated in order to enter into overseas markets and secure resources in the northeastern and western regions of China. This study aims to examine the role and development of inland port in 'One-Belt One Road' scheme. In conclusion, 'One-Belt One Road' will further increase the role of inland port, and in response, the development of inland port will play a pivotal role in one belt one road initiative. In this respect, Korean companies need to consider plans to participate in the development and operation of inland ports in China, which would provide opportunities to spread Northern markets including China, Russia, Central Asia, Eastern Europe.

  • As purchasing power of Chinese consumers has increased and their purchase channels have become more various, Chinese consumers are paying more attention to foreign products and purchasing more of them as well as the domestic goods. With great expectations, many companies in different nations are scrambling into the Chinese market. • The purpose of this study is to examine the current situation of IMC strategies of Korean fashion brands which enter into Chinese market and to propose the efficient IMC strategies. Twenty Korean fashion brands which enter into Chinese market were selected and in-depth interviews with the managers were conducted. First, advertising is focused on magazines, and outdoor advertising, advertising in departments' magazines, distributing catalogs, and star marketing are performed in some cases. Brands often execute sales promotion activities such as price deduction, offering coupons, and presenting gifts. PR activities like events and sponsorship marketing which targets uncertain public or loyal customers are performed. PPL is conducted passively though it can be very effective. CRM is not operated systematically and customer management is conducted through tele-marketing and direct mail by shop managers. Web sites of brands have insufficient contents and are operated ineffectively. VMD follows brand's basic policy, but in cases of agents whose copyrights are transferred or branches which are place in areas where managing them is hard, shop managers operate their stores by themselves. Finally, because of socialistic consciousness, the perception about service of sales people is lacked.
