  • Based on the analysis of the NDL authority system, this study was conducted to analyze the characteristics of subject authorities related to Korea in the NDL. The results are as follows. First, NDL subject authorities related to Korea are 3,143 in total including 2,205 headings and 938 subdivisions. Among them, social sciences accounted for more than half with 52.4%, and economics by individual discipline accounted for the most with 552 cases, 17.6%. Second, most of the subject headings of historical events caused by or directly related to Japan are described from the Japanese perspective, and terms familiar to Korea are mainly described in reference, not in heading. Third, subject headings representing Korean characteristics or historical events are considerably lacking or nondescript. Forth, when referring the name of the country, the term 'Joseon (朝鮮)' continues to be used to refer to both South and North Korea; however, it is necessary to subdivide the history after 1948 which includes the era of the 'Republic of Korea' and the 'Democratic People's Republic of Korea'. Using the term Joseon to refer North and South Korea may cause the reader to perceive Korea as persisting in the Joseon Dynasty. Furthermore, while 'Balhae (渤海)' is regarded as Chinese history, it is a part of Korean history and should be added to the Korean historical periods.

  • Altmetircs is the new method to measure social impact of research result which couldn't be found by traditional way, through measuring how much research result is reacting to social media. As academic communication has been diverse and OA repository which can preserve diverse type of article has been activated, New paradigm that measure impact of articles through multifaceted and complex way has been started. This study considers background, status of application, pros and cons about altmetircs. And by using Impactstory which is open source based tool, analyses the research output about digital library of Korea, china and japan which is published in international journal. Besides, analyses correlation between Altmetricss and citation rates. As results, "saved" shows higher than "cited" in library research analysis, it means that even though articles are not cited by followed study, there are a lot of articles that has saved in reference management tool. And positive correlation(r = 0.718) exists between "saved" and "cited", it can be inferred that Altmetricss complement the bibliometrics based evaluation system. Meanwhile, Korean researches are saved more in reference management tool than other countries.

  • The study aims at constructing adaptation model, CampusQual, to evaluate the services which Tsinghua provides for Korean Students. The study is based on ServQual's "expectation-feeling difference" via conducting a survey on satisfaction on their campus life. We implement a survey including 30 questions in 5 sections: demographic statistics, study & information literacy, campus life, social & culture and regulations. Then through CampusQual model, we analyze the Korean students' adaptation level. CampusQual is a new service model that would enable Korean students to better live and study in universities in China. It also provides feasible suggestions and guidance for administrators on improving campus services for Korean Students.

  • This paper analyzes Taiwan's 「New Southbound Policy」 from the perspective of 'balancing' and 'bandwagoning' in international politics. Specifically, it examines the changes and characteristics of 'Southbound policies' that have continued since the period of the Lee Teng-hui(李登輝) administration, and examines the meaning of the New Southbound Policy promoted by the Tsai Ing-wen(蔡英文) administration. Taiwan's foreign policy has been strongly influenced by external variables such as U.S.-China relations. Previous Taiwanese governments have actively promoted Southbound policies to advance to Southeast Asian countries such as ASEAN with the aim of 'De-Sinicization', but have not achieved much results. This is because variables such as cooperative U.S.-China relations and strong checks from China played a role at the time. In this environment, Taiwan had to pursue an appropriate 'balancing' between the United States, China, and Southeast Asian countries. However, since the inauguration of the Trump administration, strategic competition between the U.S. and China has been maximized, creating a new space for Taiwan's foreign policy. This is because the U.S. valued cooperation with Taiwan in the process of embodying the 'Indo-Pacific Strategy' to curb China's rise. The New Southbound Policy promoted by the Tsai Ing-won administration is different from the existing Southbound policies in that it seeks to link with the U.S. India-Pacific Strategy and attempts to advance to South Asian countries such as India. From an international political point of view, the Tsai Ing-won administration's New Southbound Policy can be interpreted as a 'bandwagoning' to the United States, not a balanced strategy between the U.S. and China. Strategic competition between the U.S. and China is expected to intensify for a considerable period of time in the future, and honeymoon between Taiwan and the U.S. are also expected to continue. Taiwan's bandwagoning strategy, which actively pursues a link between the New Southbound Policy and the India-Pacific Strategy, is also expected to be maintained.

  • The purposes of this study are; 1) to make a comparative analysis of the background factors helping the development of the library automation among Korea, Taiwan and Japan. 2) and on the basis of the analysis results, to make some suggestions on improving the variables which are likely to have influence on the library automation development. To accomplish the purpose of the study; 1) the use of computer and data communication technology for the library operations and the science policies among three countries were discussed as the background factors, 2) the pattern of library automation among three countries were presented, 3) the process of MARC development of three countries were compared with, 4) and three countries# information processing systems were discussed. The results of the study can be summarized as follows; 1) The a n.0, pplication of a computer into the library operations in Korea began much later than the other countries. 2) Korea has not have any independent department in the government organization taking charge of the policy making about the library automation in relation to the science policy. 3) Speaking of the national scientific and technological information center, JICST was founded in 1952, 국과회과중심 in 1958, and KORS TIC in 1962. 4) On the one hand, in both Taiwan and Japan, the circulation and acquisition systems tended to be first automated, on the other hand, in Korea the developments of MARC and bibliographies through the production of database were laid the emphasis. 5) The introduction and dissemination of LC MARC Tapes were implemented in Japan in 1972. Taiwan made various tests in the Tape in 1974. Korea planned to introduce and make tests on the Tape in 1983. 6) For the input system, Korea has developed KIPS series, 1,2,3. Chinas# 삼각호마법 and Japan#s 병음한자변환방식 have prospect to be prevalent. The following suggestions can be made from these results, 1) All the information infrastructures should be established in a desirable way. 2) The communication window for the information users is recommended to be set up. 3) The su n.0, pport for the physical environment such as library building, computer facilities, etc. should be provided. 4) The facilities necessary for the education of professionals in the library science department should be su n.0, pported. 5) A department of the government organization exclusively responsible for the development of library automation should be founded.

  • This study objected books having been imported from China until the 7th century when unification was made among the three kingdoms together with distributed books by Korean nationals after compiling them, and clarified main characteristics by investing their whole pictures. The three kingdoms had imported books from China from the 5th century, and made them reflect to the enactment of laws and regulations, introduction of educational system, promotion of learning, international diplomacy, and national history compilation etc for settling down the ancient nation. And Buddhism having been transmitted to the Korean Peninsula in the late 4th century was nothing more than simple handing-down Buddhist scriptures in early stage, but teaching and learning developed into levels of forming new sects after the 7th century when the complete collection of Buddhist Sutras was introduced, so the study paid attention to a fact that full-scale compilation of our collection literature was appearing. As the result of analyzing the phenomena of book distributions till the 7th century when the three kingdoms were unified in this way, transmitted books showed concentrating aspects to confusion and Buddhist literature mainly, and books having been compiled by Korean nationals themselves appeared high in history books of the three kingdoms and collection literatures of Buddhism, and also a fact was grasped such like Sohak books required for basic learning and professional ones on science fields were imported from other countries. Most books having been distributed in the three kingdoms at that time were imported from the 6th century really, so majority of them seemed to be supplied with manuscript forms. However, this study considered the possibility of using bamboo scriptures on history books such as Liugi(留記) and Seogi(書記) etc that had been compiled before the 5th century at the three kingdoms.
