  • Using information and communication technologies, many firms have increased their productivity. In resource based view, practical use of information and communication technologies is a process of increasing competitive advantage in uncertain environment. However, use of new information and communication technologies does not surely improve the productivity and work efficiency, but sometimes could be a factor to hinder firm performance. Technostress means adverse effect occurring in which the user of new information and communication technologies does not adapt to environment of new technologies. That is, Technostress is a negative impact resulted from using information and communication technologies. This study investigated the effect of technostress on counter-productivity. Unlike the previous studies, this study was made with the survey for firm employees of Daegu region, and both counter-productive work behavior and innovation resistance were used in this study. The empirical result means that technostress positively affects both counter-productive work behavior and innovation resistance. Because technostress increases both counter-productive work behavior and innovation resistance, systematic management for firm employees is needed in time adopting information and communication technologies.

  • One of the most enduring concepts in the history of marketing thought relates to the classification of consumer goods. The product classification theory first proposed by Copeland(1923) has, with little modification, survived to the present day, and continues to be endorsed by the American Marketing Association and other related institutions some 80 years after it was first published. In truth, Copeland's classification is now outdated and bears little, if any, relevance to modern product advertising, retailing and consumption. In particular, it can not accommodate the fact that, in modern societies, consumer preoccupations with style, personal identity and status have meant that the social characteristics of goods, heavily promoted by brand managers who understand their markets, are key determinants of consumer choice and buyer behavior. In this respect, the author attempted to explore the reasons why product classification theory has been unresponsive to changes in market conditions over so many years and argue that its failure to embrace the many social influences on consumption and on consumer behavior is now its most serious weakness. And also, the author proposed the new categorization system of goods, based on the several existing literatures.

  • Typological theories of offending postulate that childhood-onset delinquents have a high likelihood of being serious and chronic offenders and that there are a distinct set of risk factors predicting early-onset antisocial behaviors. It is useful to empirically classify children into subgroups based on their deviant behaviors because it helps us to identify unique factors associated with each subgroup. Using the first two waves of the Korean Youth Panel Survey, Elementary School Data, this study aimed(a) to empirically classify 5th graders into latent delinquent subgroups, and (b) to examine the impact of individual, familiar, school, and peer factors on the latent delinquent classes. Latent class analysis yielded three latent classes based on 15 indicators of deviant behaviors - delinquent class, low-level delinquent class, & normative class. The results from multivariate multinomial logistic regression analyses revealed that being male, reporting low self-control, coming from poor family, high association with deviant peers, and being bullied increased the risk of being in the delinquent class. Moreover, low self-control, aggression, domestic violence, low level of attachment to teachers, and deviant peers independently increased the risk of being in the low-level delinquent class compared to the normative class. Based on the study findings, implications for practice as well as future studies were discussed.

  • According to recent embodied cognition approach, understanding of actions is not based on abstract symbolic process but based on mental simulation of sensory-motor information related to those actions. As supporting evidence, motor resonance effect is a facilitation/interference effect of motor response in terms of similarity between observed action and concurrent own action. In the current research, we investigated this effect in the situation to perceive a complex social action perception and how it would be modulated by perspectives of construals of the social action scene. For this purpose, we created three kinds of fighting action scenes of two people in terms of body actions of the subject(ie., hitting, stepping, biting), and described them in two perspectives; active and passive. During the experiment, subjects had to verify the congruency of the picture and the description first, and if they are congruent, they had to do two different actions in terms of color of following cues. In the first experiment, subjects' response time for stepping on a pedal and pressing a button were analyzed for measuring motor resonance effect for the foot movement. In the second experiment, voice response time with a microphone and button pressing time were analyzed for the mouth movement motor resonance effect. Results showed the facilitation of the foot movement(in Exp1), and the mouth movement(in Exp2) only when the action scene was described in active perspective. Our results indicate that the motor resonance effect can be occurred during perception of social actions in the real life situation, but it can be also modulated by the perspective of the mental construal of the action event.

Do Women's Attitude to Domestic Works and Self-perception of Social Norms Enforce the Gender Division of Housework? - Analysis of Mediation Effects Using the Theory of Reasoned Action - (여성의 가사노동에 대한 태도 및 사회적 규범에 대한 여성의 인식이 가사노동시간의 성불평등에 영향을 미치는가?: 합리적 행위이론을 통한 매개효과 분석)

  • This study aims to empirically analyze whether the women's cognitive attitude toward gender role, which is formed through social norms, enforces the gender division of housework. In this study, 4,435 married women aged 18-59 years from the 5th wave dataset of Korean Longutudinal Survey of Women and Family Data were selected for analysis. Using the Structural Equation Model(SEM), we examine the direct effect of "attitude toward behavior" and "subjective norm" on the domestic working hours and whether those two independent variables, such as "attitude toward behavior" and "subjective norm," influence the mediator variable "Behavior Intention" which in turn affect the dependent variable. The study reveals that "attitude toward the gender division of housework" has a statistically significant direct effect on the domestic working hours as well as an indirect effect operating through "behavior intention." And"subjective norm "has only a statistically significant indirect effect on the domestic working hours, operating through "behavior intention." Despite the fact that many women are now aware that various work-life balance policies are avaliable to mitigate the gender inequality of domestic works, it is proven that the gender division of housework becomes worse. The reason behind this is not only because there exist some problems in implementing the institutions themselves, but also because women's deeply internalized self-perception of gender role based on the traditional patriarchal culture somehow exacerbates the gender division of housework. Hence, in order to instill a progressive change in gender division of housework, it is important for women to try to change the way they perceive the stereotypical gender roles as well as for men to treat women equally.

  • This study aims to characterize debate on a socio-scientific issue in the Internet and to provide implications from a postmodernist perspective. This study concentrates on disentanglement of the complex relationship among society, economy, politics and science in an issue and characterization of the given text centering on its originality, the relationship between writer and reader, and the purpose of utterance. Sixty-six most read articles on a web message board were chosen and analyzed as a typical case of a socio-scientific issue in the internet. In them, five scientific disputes were identified: the cause of mad cow disease (MCD), specified risk material and the incubation period, the cause of new variant Creutzfeld-Jakob disease (vCJD), vulnerability of vCJD and the relation of Alzheimer and vCJD in American patients. Each argument is intertwined with social, economic and political problems such as its impact on the domestic beef market, feeding environment of imported cattle and the retaliation against denial of importation. With regard to originality, it is found that the originality of an author is weakened but communal through repetitive quotation of 'Peom', cutting and pasting, and engagement of readers with their comments. Furthermore, in order to close the gap between writer and reader, identity and personal narrative of the writers are often introduced into their writing. In terms of purpose of utterance, these are intended to deliver one's feelings or facilitate human behavior rather than inform through verification of a principle.

The creative musical play program was implemented with six children in K Community Child Center for twenty (20) sessions. To investigate quantitative change, the Peer Relational Skills Scale and the Revised Social Skills Scale (for teachers) were filled out by children and teachers before and after the program. Also, to investigate musical and behavior changes related with peer relational skills in the creative musical program, the responses of children were categorized from the data of the children's responses according to previously identified sub-factors of peer relational skills. The results show that the participants' average scores presented an improvement in peer relational skills. Qualitative analysis of session logs presented that negative factors which had appeared in early sessions changed to positive traits as the sessions went on. In conclusion, the creative musical play program was effective in increasing peer relational skills of children in the community child center.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and to verify an effect of a group counselling program for children who are in need of improving social skills and relationships. In order to meet this goal, the study procedure was employed as follows: First, the literature review of studies on childrens in social welfare institutions was implemented. Second, to analyze need of staffs in facilities and to specify the present condition of children, 100 staffs were participated in basic investigation. The result of investigation revealed that social skill development programs should be held in form of total 11~12 sessions once or twice in a week, with 50~60 minutes per session. Third, based on the literature review and current situation investigation results, a program for improving social skills and competencies of children was developed. To verify the program, two groups composed of elementary children who are fourth grade to sixth grade were organized. The groups were a experimental group which was provided with a group counselling program and a control group with no program. The program was composed of twelve sessions throughout six weeks, and the subjects took social skill test after taking the program to verify educational effects. T-test were implemented to analyze difference of the test results of two groups statistically. As a result of a research, following major two findings were specified: (1) experimental group showed significant difference in the score of self-assertion, cooperation, and self-control, which indicates that the program was effective for social skill improvement: (2) according to the test result, the self-assertion, cooperation, and self-control skills were clearly improved. In conclusion, the program turned out to be an effective and a positive educational device to enhance social skills of the children. The program developing model were suggested to improve social skills of children in the state of family devision based on the study findings. The follow-up future studies should elaborate program models for various-aged children and for children with various learning styles. Furthermore, qualitative study method should be employed which can specify social attitude change of children.

  • The purpose of this paper was to introduce sociocultural theory which is a different epistemological perspective from constructivism and to understand the sociocultural theory in a systemic way by providing four specific criteria for a sociocultural theory from the analysis of Vygotsky's ideas. The four criteria are the followings: first, the origin of learning is not at the individual level, but at the social. Second, Learning takes place in a sociocultural framework through ZPD and there exists the stage of pseudo concept before it gets to a true concept. Third, a clear focus on action, especially mediated action, and the concept of psychological tools should be discussed in the boundary of a sociocultural theory. Fourth, actors in a learning process are not an individual child alone. In consequence, the role of adults, particularly teachers, are significant in a child's learning, and this fact provides a great potential for the active role of teachers in the students' learning of mathematics from the sociocultural perspective.

This research is approached from a security point of view. A lot of accidents occur by direct cause such as people's unsafe action and unsafe condition. but it is very difficult to remove the facts of direct cause, so the facts of indirect cause should be analyzed together. Drew-up of security related legislation should be included when the establishment of fire fighting related legislation is examined, also technical improvement should be examined with legislation. security company should be concerned about securing of expertise and reinvestment for the improvement of expertise to overcome limitations of private security such as job boundary, capability and responsibility.
