  • The national capacity of electricity of Korea was 81,737 MW and the peak demand was renewed by the record of 71,230 MW in 2012 which has been increasing since the first lighting ceremony had taken place in the Royal Palace(Kyung-Bok Goong) in 1887. Aa the counteract on the rapid increasing of the demand, Korean government is constructing and operating the high capacity nuclear and thermal power plants, however, the operating reserve on weekdays is small while those of weekends are more than 40% of capacity, so they are providing the pumped-storage power plants with the surplus electricity during weekends and operating the power plants which cost higher production price and located in the capital area with WSS (Weekly Start and Stop) mode including the Seoul Thermal Power Plant. Since the Seoul Thermal Power Plant is spending huge amount of expenses for more than 30 times of the WSS annually due to the high production cost even though it is in Seoul, the core of the demand, I chose the power plant unit #5 which was on the grid in 1969 for the case to confirm reducing 23% of the warm start-up time by applying the "Start-up time management program", and that reducing 35% of the water temperature increasing time by accelerate the increasing rate of the inlet temperature of the water circulating pump.

  • This study attempts, based on the premise that gender roles and identity is a social construct, to show how TV portrayal of the male has changed through the years with changes in time and society, from the traditional depiction of hegemonic masculinity and ideal manhood as supported by the patriarchal system. A narrative analysis was conducted on popular variety shows "Dad, Where Are We Going?" and "Superman Returns". The results showed that both TV shows created a new type of masculinity by centering the narrative on the traditionally female roles of child rearing and housekeeping, and recreating the traditional strict and authoritative father figure into a non-authoritative and emotionally expressive father. However, as 'child rearing' and 'housekeeping' is expressed as 'play', there are limitations in that the actual daily lives and hardship of women is excluded from the narrative.

  • One of the most notable changes in entertainment programs has been the gamification since 1991. The comparative analysis of 255 weekend entertainment programs run by terrestrial broadcasters between 1991 and 1998 and between 2008 and 2014 indicates that entertainment programs have emigrated from the variety format to the reality, and that adopted entangled plots than interwoven ones more and more, using mission performances and competition heavily. Further, even within the reality format, different competitive factors and plot composition are adding the diversity in the end results immensely. The interaction among the gamification, plots and competitive factors is quite likely to drive creative changes in the broadcast formats in the years to come.

This research was conducted using survey questionnaires. The subjects of the study are fathers with children aged between seven and nine. A total of 688 subjects were selected from 800 samples. The survey on the needs for educational programs for fathers reveals that the respondents have more than average interest in each program. The needs of the content of programs vary. depending on the income levels and fathers' jobs. They prefer to take less than a month-long program where they meet a total of 4 times. They prefer taking the program during weekdays and want to have a class with less than 20 people. We should diversify objectives and education content of parental education so that individuals can choose the program they need and actually apply what they have teamed in real life.
