The purpose of the study is to analyze the relationship between the warning picture on a cigarette pack and non-smoking attempt, which is expected to contribute to the negative perception of smoking as a research subject about smoking adolescents. An online survey data of the Youth Health Behavior in 2018 has been used, and 3,722 adolescents who are currently smokers were selected for the study. For the measurement of variables, demographic sociology, health-related, and smoking-related factors have been revised, and multivariate binomial logistic regression analysis has been performed. The perception rate of cigarette warning pictures among adolescents who smoke currently is 84.7%, and among them, the attempt rate to quit smoking is 72.8%. As a result of the multivariate binomial logistic regression analysis, there is a meaningful relationship between adolescent smokers' attempts to quit smoking and whether they perceived cigarette pack warning pictures, and school grade year, academic performance, stress perception, and ease of purchasing cigarettes have been also expressed as meaningful variables. To be based on the result, it is necessary to manufacture to design a cigarette pack warning picture that can be easily recognized by smoking adolescents in the future.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors that influence the consumption of convenience foods among Korean adolescents. Methods: This study had a descriptive cross-sectional study. Data were obtained from the 15th (2019) Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey, which involved a nationwide representative sample of 57,303 middle- and high-school students. Convenience-food consumption was defined by frequency of adolescents consuming convenience foods obtained from convenience stores, supermarkets, and cafeterias over the previous 7 days. The analyzed variables were related to sociodemographic, mental health, and health behavior. The Rao-Scott χ2 test was applied to examine the difference in the rate of consuming convenience foods obtained from convenience stores according to each factor. Hierarchical logistic regression was conducted to examine the factors that influence convenience-food consumption among Korean adolescents. Results: It was found that 29.1% of Korean adolescents consumed convenience foods obtained from convenience store more than three times per week. The significant influencing factors were female sex; low subjective academic achievement, and subjective household economic status; high perceived stress; low subjective sleep sufficiency; experience of depression; suicidal ideation; lower physical activity; skipping breakfast; lower consumptions of fruit, milk, and vegetables; higher consumptions of soda drinks, sweet drinks, caffeine, and fast food; lower water intake; current smoking and drinking; drug use; and experience of violence. Conclusion: These findings provide a better understanding of the sociodemographic, mental-health, and health-behavior factors that influence the consumption of convenience foods among Korean adolescents. We suggest that differentiated policies, strategies, and nutrition education need to be developed and implemented, in order to address the above-mentioned factors and thereby reduce such behaviors among Korean adolescents.
Purpose: This study examined the association between fruit and vegetable intake and mental health in Korean adolescents. Methods: This study used the data from the 2014-2017 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Survey, a national cross-sectional survey on 137,101 boys and 130,806 girls aged 12-18. Fruit and vegetable intake was assessed based on the frequency of consumption. The outcome variables were the perceived happiness, perceived stress, depressive symptom and suicidal ideation over the previous 12 months. Logistic regression models were used after adjusting for the demographic, life style and other dietary factors. Results: Only 34% and 29% of Korean adolescents consumed fruits more than 5 times/week and vegetables more than 2 times/day, respectively; whereas 37%, 25% and 12.2% of Korean adolescents had perceived stress, depressive symptom and suicidal ideation, respectively. After adjusting for the confounding variables, the greater consumption of fruit and vegetable were all associated with a higher odds of perceived happiness; the adjusted odds ratios (AORs) (95% CI) were 1.53 (1.46-1.60) in boys and 1.82 (1.73-1.90) in girls who consumed fruit ≥ 5 times/week, and 1.65 (1.54-1.76) in boys and 1.62 (1.51-1.72) in girls who consumed vegetable ≥ 2 times/day. In contrast, the consumption of fruit or vegetable were all significantly associated with a lower odds of perceived stress, depressive symptom, and suicidal ideation; the AOR (95% CI) were 0.70 (0.67-0.73), 0.88 (0.84-0.93), and 0.78 (0.73-0.83) in boys who consumed fruit 3-4 times/week, and 0.71 (0.67-0.76), 0.88 (0.81-0.94), and 0.68 (0.62-0.74) in boys who consumed vegetable 5-7 times/week. Similar associations of fruit or vegetable consumption with perceived stress, depressive symptom, or suicidal ideation were found in girls. Conclusion: These findings provide evidence that increasing fruit and vegetable intake is important for better mental health among adolescents.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine factors influencing health-related quality of life in middle and old adult one-person households. Method: This study carried out secondary analysis using the data from the $7^{th}$ Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Subject samples who were selected are 497 middle and old adult one-person households over 40 years. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, simple and multiple regression techniques with the SPSS/WIN 24 program. Result: Factors influencing health-related quality of life in middle adult one-person households were activity limitation, depression, exercise, smoking habits with 57% prediction. In male old adult one-person households they were subjective health, metabolic syndrome, activity limitation, perceived stress with 44.8% prediction and in female old adult one-person households they were subjective health, activity limitation, home income with 35.9% prediction. Conclusion: Therefore, to improve their health-related quality of life it needs to develop & to apply national and local promotion policy and intervention program on health-related quality of life of middle and old adult one-person households.
Based on the Motivational States Theory(MOST), the present research expanded and complemented Kim(2007)'s proposal to add the Life Satisfaction Expectancy Scale(LSES) to Diener et al's Satisfaction With Life Scale(SWLS) to measure subjective well-being(SWB). In the present study, the Life Satisfaction Motivation Scale(LSMS) was introduced to measure the strength of motivation for life satisfaction in general. Two hundred and eighty six college students participated in this study. Factor analyses revealed a two-factor structure, with the factors corresponding to life satisfaction and life satisfaction expectancy. Measures of internal and temporal reliability show the LSMS to be a good complement for the measure of SWB(The LSMS showed high internal and test-retest reliability). It was found that the addition of the LSES provided a significant increment in predictive power over the SWLS in the prediction of various factors related with well-being prediction. Exceptionally, in the prediction of anger the LSMS had the most predictive power. There were some differences between male and female students in the correlations among life satisfaction, life satisfaction expectancy and life satisfaction motivation and well-being-related factors. The merits of including LSES in the measurement of subjective well-being and the limitations of this study are discussed.
This study explored the role of perceived stress in Korean high school students' suicidal thought. In so doing, we also investigated the mediating role of high school students' internet use time and amount of drinking alcohol. For this, 2019 Korean adolescent health behavior survey was used. Complex design multivariage logistic regression analysis revealed that high school students' perceived stresss(OR:5.607, 95%CI:5.077-6.191) and amount of drinking(ranging from OR:1.412, 95%CI:1.159-1.720 to OR:2.325, 95%CI:1.928-2.803) played a significant role in their suicidal thoughts. Internet use time and amount of alcohol consumed were found to play a mediating role. Implications of the results are discussed. Therefore, since internet use mediated suicidal thinking among adolescents, it is necessary to develop a intervention program or message for them.

This study examined the effects of the demographic and health characteristics and chronic diseases on the health-related quality of life in service employees. From January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2014, this study analyzed the data on 607 service employees based on the 2nd data of the 6th National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey with at-test, ANOVA, and hierarchical regression analysis use of SPSS. The results of the analysis showed that the quality of Life in women was lower (${\beta}=-.074$, p=.050) than that of men, and the older the subjects were, the lower their quality of life(${\beta}=307$, p=.000). Regarding the subjective health status, there was a significant increase in the "very Poor"(${\beta}=186$, p=0.027) and "good"(${\beta}=196$, p=.001) status. The quality of life improved with increasing activity (${\beta}=-0.222$, p=0.000)). Some of the subjects perceived "high stress" (${\beta}=-0.123$, p=0.003) and the others perceived "low stress"(${\beta}=-0.176$, p=0.000). The less they perceived stress, the higher their quality of life. The factors explained 24.6% of the health-related quality of life of the subjects. Therefore, to improve health-related quality of life of service employees, more activity opportunities should be given, the subjective health status should be positively perceived and psychological measures to decrease the level of stress should be developed.
