A Study for guideline of the Eco-Design in Interior Architecture (생태적 실내건축 디자인 지침에 관한 연구)

  • As the environmental paradigm is the major issue today, the guideline of the ecological design in the interior architectural field is needed. One on the knowledge necessary to plan the ecological interior architecture as a designer is the spectification related factors for planning, which should be applied in materialistic matters. In this paper, the knowledge of materials and products needed to design interior space considering the ecological factors is studied. And, a guideline for the eco-design is investigated for the expression of the environmentally friendly perception.

Research on the Color Design by Building Use for the Classification of Tourism and Residential Areas - On Example of Building Color of Huinnyeoul Culture Village in Busan, Korea (관광 및 주거지역 구분을 위한 건축용도별 색채 디자인에 관한 연구 - 한국 부산 흰여울문화마을의 건축 색채를 중심으로)

  • The exterior color of the building reflects its style. With the advancement of the 'Village Art' project in South Korea, many villages have gradually developed into tourist attractions. Therefore, it is also important to distinguish between residents' lifestyles and tourist needs through architectural color design. This article first investigates the literature and analyzes the use function of the building and the role of the exterior color in the villages. Secondly, the four types of buildings in Huinnyeoul Culture Village: residential, commercial, leisure, and public toilets are investigated as the research objects. Analyze through the KSCA color measurement analysis system and questionnaire survey, and propose a color plan for the exterior of the building. Research results: First, the main color area of the outer wall of the residential building should be the largest, with a tendency of high brightness and low saturation. Second, small buildings with high chroma in the recreation area can be used as visual guidance.Third, the buildings in the commercial area are mainly of high brightness, high chroma, and multi-hue. Fourth, the main color of the bathroom is the main color of the residential area and the leisure area, which can provide a sense of visual stability.

A study on the Management of an Interior Design Office in Daegu (대구시 인테리어 디자인 사무실의 경영에 관한 조사 연구)

  • Today, importance is being placed on interior design and thus the scope of interior design market became very large. Management environment of an interior design office, however, often faces manu difficulties to meet a variety of customers' demand, so that expert and reasonable management ability is required. Accordingly, this study was conducted to provide basic materials on management environment for maximizing profit generation of an interior design office by investing real management situation on the subject of persons participating in management of an interior design office. As a result of investigation of 80 interior design offices which was registered in Daegu, design ratio of most of the offices was found to be less than 20% due to building owners' lack of recognition of and insufficient legal systems, and in spite that there was a department or staff fully in charge, top management makes an estimate. With regard to importance of interior design, it was found that they regarded reliability with customers as most important, and give priority to practical ability and human nature in employing a new comer. It was revealed that most offices have neither department taking fully charge of marketing, nor positive publicity, and in outside activities, the major of management have high relation with sales.

The Role of Key Housing Accessibility in the Relationship Between Mobility Disability and Residential Satisfaction of Seniors - A Case Study of the United States - (주요 접근가능한 주택디자인이 노년층의 이동장애와 주거만족도의 관계에 미치는 영향 - 미국 사례 연구 -)

  • This study investigated whether housing accessibility plays a significant role in explaining the relation between mobility disability and residential satisfaction of seniors. Also, it identified people who are at greatest risk of mobility disability and living in homes without housing accessibility. We analyzed the 2011 American Housing Survey data with a sample of 20,089 households aged 55 and over living in single-family homes. Results show that although residential satisfaction decreased as mobility became more disabled, the key housing accessibility features were significant buffers against the negative impact of mobility disability on residential satisfaction. Seniors who were Black, low-income, housing-costs burden and renters in older housing in an urban area were more likely to have mobility limitations but fewer housing accessibility features. The moderating effect of housing accessibility on residential satisfaction was much greater for seniors with greater mobility disability. For vulnerable seniors living in an old single-family home, housing policymakers or local communities should consider home modification programs and services after evaluating housing accessibility.

A Study on the Pilotis Design Characteristics in the Highrise Apartment Housing Estates (고충아파트 필로티 디자인 특성 분석에 관한 연구)

  • This study investigates the design features of pilotis applied to 20 high-rise apartment housings in Korea, completed between January 2000 and August 2005. It analyzes the design characteristics of pilotis on the basis of its spatial configuration and the residents' behavior and suggests the directions of pilotis design in the future. The study finds the followings. 1) The pilotis spaces in foreign apartment housings are used mainly for communal functions such as the passages between buildings for both pedestrians and vehicles. Compared with this public use of pilotis in foreign counterparts, the pilotis spaces in Korean apartment housings are semi-private and have multiple purposes. 2) The pilotis design can be classified on the basis of the spatial configuration elements and the patterns of residents' behavior. The spatial configuration elements consist of ceiling, column, wall, and floor; the residents' behavior can be classified as viewing, resting and playing, driving and parking, and keeping privately-owned objects such as motorcycle and bicycle. 3) Two spatial configuration elements, the wall and the ceiling and two behavioral patterns, 'resting and playing' and 'viewing' are getting more attention by designers in the apartment housings analyzed in this study.
