Urbanization due to population growth and regional development can cause various environmental problems, such as the urban heat island phenomenon. A planned city is considered an appropriate study site to analyze changes in urban climate caused by rapid urbanization in a short-term period. In this study, changes in land cover and surface heat island phenomenon were analyzed according to the development plan in Sejong City from 2013 to 2020 using Landsat-8 Operational Land Imager/Thermal Infrared Sensor (OLI/TIRS) satellite imagery. The surface temperature was calculated in consideration of the thermal infrared band value provided by the satellite image and the emissivity, and based on this the surface heat island effect intensity and Urban Thermal Field Variance Index (UTFVI) change analysis were performed. The level-2 land cover map provided by the Ministry of Environment was used to confirm the change in land cover as the development progressed and the difference in the surface heat island intensity by each land cover. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the urbanized area increased by 15% and the vegetation decreased by more than 28%. Expansion and intensification of the heat island phenomenon due to urban development were observed, and it was confirmed that the ecological level of the area where the heat island phenomenon occurred was very low. Therefore, It can suggest the need for a policy to improve the residential environment according to the quantitative change of the thermal environment due to rapid urbanization.

As the national income level is improving, housing urbanization and economic speed are progressing rapidly, household waste and food waste are rapidly increasing. The "Waste Management Act" (founded in 1991) introduced the volume-based household waste system in 1995, and even after implementation, the odor of food waste and the prompt disposal process continue to be a social problem. For this reason, the food waste recycling business is attracting attention. In this paper, regarding the role of resource recycling such as feed, compost, and other resources of food waste, this thesis aims to reduce the inefficiency of the recycling process. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) of the relationship between inputs and outputs of 33 facilities nationwide, excluding facility data (insufficient) among 394, (238 public, and 156 private ones), as of the end of 2020, which is running a domestic resource recycling project This study was conducted to investigate the important role in the relative management performance of food waste recycling facilities. It was hypothesized that the influence of business history, facility capacity, capital, and machinery of a company running a food waste recycling business on sales was tested.

In accordance with the urban development project, cases of constructing temporary wall structures for ground excavation in the vicinity of railway structures are increasing. In addition, the complaints about train vibration are also increasing from people living in large buildings newly built after installing the temporary wall structures. In order to solve this problem, a method for reducing train vibration is considered from the design stage of the building, and a vibration reduction system is installed on the structure when the building is newly constructed. However, the vibration reduction method established at the structure design stage can be determined through the results of field measurements or dynamic numerical analysis for a specific area, and there is a limit to evaluating whether the established vibration reduction method is appropriate due to the lack of objective research data. Therefore, in order to provide objective basic data when establishing a vibration reduction method, this study performed the dynamic numerical analysis for a operating train with a speed 80km/h by applying differently the depths of railway structures, the distances between railways and temporary wall structures, and ground conditions. It was found that the range of influence of a train operating at 80 km/h was within 4.5D of the lateral distance from the railway structure in the case of the condition where the temporary wall was installed.

This study identified the materials and construction methods of 'Old Wall' in 13 villages which were designated as National Registered Cultural Heritage at the time of designation and examined the their structural changes based on field survey. The results are as follows: First, the 'Old Wall' consisted of 10 Soil-Stone Wall and 5 Stone Wall. At the time of designation, Stone Wall, which was built irregularly by dry-construction of natural stones, is similar in shape, but Soil-Stone Wall showed difference by the construction method of making used stones, joints, and faces. Second, the study extracted the changes of 'Old Wall' by repair and examined the changes of construction methods as well as the substitution and addition of materials of structure. The wall-roof was built with cement roof-tile and asbestos slate which have the advantage improve durability and cost-effectiveness. In addition, tile-mouth soil was added to korean traditional roof-tile to prevent rainwater from flowing in. Besides, to improve constructional convenience, the natural stone of the wall-body was replaced with blast stone, float stone and cut stone. Cement block, cement brick and cement mortar were frequently used to repair as well. As Soil-Stone Wall was transformed from irregular pattern-construction to comb pattern-construction and wet-construction was changed to dry-construction, it caused landscape and structural problems. Also, the layer of cement mortar applied to wall-foundation blocked the flow of rainwater that was induced by dry-construction of natural stones. Third, the study regarded that the problem with the repair of 'Old Wall' may occur as it is located in living space, because the owner of the wall could repair for the minor damages without technical knowledge. In addition, it is difficult for repair companies in charge of maintenance of Cultural Heritage to supply local materials, and it is differential construction specifications are not applied.

Korean government has taken various population policy so far According to demographic results, The aging population is rapidly aging and it is expected to deepen in the future. However, many senior citizens are also exposed to poor economic conditions and inconsistent health care risks Most seniors suffer from mental illness and chronic diseases. seniors in traditional cities feel very alienated as they change from large family to small family. As the number of elderly people living alone grows, social problems increase. At present, the health care for the elderly who live alone is not being taken properly, and they are under a very poor management system, both physically and mentally. Every human being has to be old, and we aim to spend our old age processes physically and mentally healthy. As the basic age of the elderly increases, it is necessary to consider various aspects of the welfare policies and medical policies that are followed. In this study, 100 elderly people over the age of 65 were surveyed for economic situations and physical and mental health conditions, and specially performed study on utility of 'urban senior multi care zone' to prove the necessity of introducing the latest digital devices to resolve these problems more effectively by analyzing serious feelings of alienation, loneliness, and emotional situations. Lastly, We conducted this research to find ways to help the elderly through customized health care.

Universities and local governments in Korea are simultaneously experiencing the difficulties of a decrease in the youth population and a decrease in the school-age population, and close cooperation between universities and local governments is urgently needed to solve this problem. Representative methods of such cooperation include the establishment of a regional innovation system and the theories of innovation clusters and triple helix models. In addition to these theories, the aim is to derive sustainable conditions for the local government-university cooperation model by examining various cases of cooperation at home and abroad. This is the purpose of this paper. In particular, through case studies of cooperation between local governments and universities at home and abroad, three types of models (job, education, and housing) were analyzed, and common conditions and requirements for sustainable cooperation were proposed. In order for cooperation between local governments and universities to continue and produce successful results, mutual benefit creation, infrastructure construction and operation appropriate for capabilities, flexibility, and mutual responsibility are necessary. Furthermore, a model that suits the capabilities of local governments and universities must be found, and in this process, the university's research capabilities and commercialization capabilities of research results are especially important. In addition, it is essential to establish a new cooperation system between local governments, universities, and the central government.

This study examines the living conditions and life satisfaction of single-person households according to their life cycle. The survey was conducted from August to October 2022, and respondents were single-person households from Kimpo, South Korea. The respondents were categorized to three groups namely, young, middle-aged, and older adults by life cycle, and items regarding their sociodemographic background, personal life, family relations, and life satisfaction were included in the analysis. Descriptive statistics, Chi-square analysis, analysis of variance, and multiple regression analysis were performed. The key findings were as follows. First, significant differences were found according to life cycle in the respondents' diet, clothing, housing, financial and home management, self-care, and leisure life. Second, the variables that significantly affected the level of life satisfaction of single-person households were the life cycle with young adults showing a higher level of satisfaction; having a family member to care; living alone voluntarily, discrimination experience; community awareness; and ties with the local community. Based on the results, it is clear that single-person households have different needs and problems in each stage of life cycle. Thus, to reflect the different experiences and needs of single-person households by life cycle, tailored policy and programs should be provided for young, middle-aged, and older adult single-person households.

Urbanization brings many challenges such as traffic, housing, and environment. To solve these problems, researchers are working on new transportation systems like urban air mobility (UAM). UAM aircraft should fly safely without burdening the existing air traffic system in the early stage of low-density operation. The airspace should also be managed and operated efficiently. Therefore it is important to make urban air traffic predictable by using corridors and collecting data on low-density operations in the early stage. For this purpose various simulations are needed before operation to create scenarios that estimate potential collisions between UAM aircraft and to evaluate the risks of aircraft spacing, loss of separation (LoS), and near mid air collision (NMAC). This paper focuses on identifying the requirements and considerations for setting separation standards for urban air traffic based on the results of studies.

The study aims to examine that regular leisure activity of the elderly has a beneficial effect to enhance their health condition. The elderly subjects of 164 (82 of elderly who do leisure and 82 of elderly who do not leisure) aged over 60 years in Suwon area were employed. Survey questionnaires were administered to investigate general characteristics, life style, mental status, dietary life and nutritional status. From the findings, the elderly who do leisure were highly educated, better in living status and higher employment rate. The mental status of the elderly without leisure activity was very much inferior to that of the elderly with leisure activity, representing higher prevalence rate of depression. Furthermore, the elderly who do not leisure showed higher drinking and smoking rates, irregular eating habits, poor teeth condition and chewing style as well as having eating obstacles. Mean caloric intake of both the elderly was also lower than that of RDA. The elderly who do not leisure have shown lower intakes in most of essential nutrients in contrast to the elderly who do leisure. In conclusion, the elderly with regular leisure activity seemed to have better life style and mental status, dietary life and nutritional status. Therefore, it is critically important to establish the health program combined with various leisure activity for the seniors to promote and energize the later years of life.
