A Study on the Effective Factors of the Organizational Structure upon the Organizational Effectiveness of University Libraries (대학도서관의 조직구조가 조직유효성에 미치는 영향요인에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구는 대학도서관의 효율적인 조직구조의 형성방안을 위하여 대학 도서관 조직구조의 상황변수, 기본변수, 구조형태 및 조직유효성 간에 상호영향을 미치는 요인을 규명하고자 한 것으로서 이론적인 배경을 토대로 연구모형을 설계한 후에 실증적인 검증을 시도하였다. 이 검증을 위하여 상황변수는 환경, 기술, 규모, 전략유형, 권력유형을 채택하고, 기본변수는 복잡화, 공식화, 집권화를 채택하였으며, 구조형태는 단순조직, 기능별조직, 분관조직, 주제별조직(I)(II)로 구분하였고, 조직유효성 변수는 능률성, 유연성, 정보자료관리 및 만족성을 채택하였으며, 만족성은 조직몰입과 직무만족으로 세분하였다. 연구결과 조직구조의 상황변수, 기본변수 및 구조형태는 상호간에 영향을 주며, 궁극적으로 조직유효성에 영향을 주지만 그 내용은 극히 미약한 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 모든 측면에서 조직유효성이 높은 조직은 없고, 조직유효성에 영향을 미치는 구조형태는 극히 미약한 것으로 분석되었다.

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate the organizational effectiveness of uniersity libraries in Korea. This study models emphasized the situational factors, fundamental factors and types of organiz tional effectiveness. environment, technology, size, strategy, and power were taken as situational factors of organizational structure ; fundamental factors were complexity, formalization, and centralization ; organizational structures were diveded into simple organization, functional organization, departmental organization, subject divisional organization(I), (II). Efficiency, flexibility, information service and satisfaction were taken as effectiveness factors and satisfaction was subdivided into organizational commitment and job satisfaction. In this study, situational factors, fundamental factors and types of organizational structures influence one another, ultimately affect the level of organizational effectiveness. Organizational effectiveness represents no organization of high organizational effectiveness on all levels.

  • Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) System has been adopted and operated by many governments and public institutions to intensify their global competitiveness. Recently these organizations are facing many problems because of the increased demands and complexity of Information Technology (IT) service. Especially, difficulty with ITSM gets bigger and bigger because of increasing IT outsourcing. An expectation regarding ITSM is grown up when facing to solve problems. Therefore, this study suggests effective alternatives about ITSM organization structure for public sectors. The ITSM organization structures changes from traditional structures based on functions to new structures based on its goal, customer, and its process. In other words, ITSM organizational structure can be composed of Service Strategy directorate, Service Design directorate, Service Transition directorate, Service Operation directorate, and Service Improvement directorate. To ensure the effectiveness and the professionalism of ITSM in an organization, this paper specifies the roles of participants and the responsibilities for each unit. The proposed ITSM organization structures will be useful for public sectors.

  • 이 논문은 Minnesota대학 Paul Campus 도서관 부관장인 존슨(P. Johnson)이 Journal of Academic Libraianship, Vol. 16, No. 4(Sept, 1990), pp.222-229에 게재한 "Matrix Management: An Organizational Alternative for Libraries"을 완역한 것으로, 도서관의 전통적인 조직구조에 대한 대안을 모색하는데 참고할 수 있는 이론적 논문으로 사료됨. 도서관조직구조가 점점 복잡해 짐에 따라 다양한 방안들을 모색하여 왔다. 이 논문은 전통적 계층구조에 대한 대안으로서의 매트릭스구조의 효용에 관하여 논의 한 것이다. 매트릭스관리가 매우 성공적으로 이루어질 경우에는 사서들에게 유연성을 증대시키기 위한 신전략과 고도의 전문적 독립성, 그리고 보다 균형된 의사결정과정을 제공해 준다. 제2차 세계대전까지만 해도 도서관을 포함한 대다수 기관의 조직구조는 몇 가지로 나눌 수 있었다. 비록 이들 조직구조가 바뀌게 되었다 하더라도 그것은 의도적인 계획하에서 진전된 것이 아니라 안정적이고 예측가능한 환경에 매우 적합하도록 자연스럽게 이루어진 것이다. 다만 최근 여러 해 동안 급격한 환경변화로 인하여 보다 새로운 조직구조가 발전하게 되었는데, 이는 자연진화적인 조직변화라기 보다는 오히려 특정적 요구를 충족시키기 위한 자의적인 계획의 결과라고 하겠다. 이와 같은 급격한 변화에 대처하도록 특별히 계획된 매우 혁신적인 조직구조중의 하나가 조직매트릭스이다. 이 논문은 대학도서관에 있어서 조직구조, 조직대안으로서의 매트릭스구조, 매트릭스경영관리의 효용 등 세 가지의 문제에 대하여 고찰하고자 한다.<역자주>

  • In the case of ICT-enabled organizational changes such as Smart Work, appropriate change management is required. To achieve work-life balance, organizational change management should be conducted from both a structural and a cultural perspective. This study looked at organizational factors that affect Smart Work facilitation through a case study with the view of ICT-enabled change management. From November to December 2019, eight Smart Workers of Company A were interviewed and analyzed for organizational support. The results show that structural support such as institutionalization, ICT infrastructure office environment improvement, Smart Work center as well as cultural support such as enhancing autonomy, communicating style of managers, trusting organizational climate are required. The findings suggest balanced organizational support to provide cultural support along with structural support for activating Smart Work operations. In the future, it is necessary to demonstrate the causality between structural/cultural support factors and outcome factors.

Influences of Organizational Structure on Organizational Culture and Job Satisfaction in Construction Management Site Organizations (건설사업관리 현장조직의 조직구조가 조직문화 및 직무만족에 미치는 영향)

  • As construction projects become more complex and larger, the role of the organization becomes more important. In order to increase the performance of the construction management(CM) site organization, it is necessary to find an organizational structure suitable for the CM, lead an organizational culture correctly, and increase the job satisfaction of the members. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to study the influence of the organizational structure of the CM site organization on the organizational culture and job satisfaction. As results of the study, the organizational structure of the CM site organization was the highest at 3.51 for formalization and the lowest at 2.71 for centralization(out of 5). In addition, as results of correlation analysis, organizational structure was found to have a correlation with organizational culture and job satisfaction. This study is considered to be helpful in planning an organizational structure suitable for the CM site organization.

  • This paper focused on exploratory testing the organizational management area by examining conceptualized relationships between e-commerce usage type and organizational structure. The research model consists of three e-commerce usage type such as buy-side, internal, sell-side activities and four organizational structure dimensions like decentralization, specialization, formalization, and administration intensity. An interview and an e-mail survey of managers were used to obtain information on the variables relevant to e-commerce activities and organizational structure. The data resulted in response from 58 companies. Major findings of this research are summarized as follows: buyer related e-commerce activities is positively relate to the administrative intensity and the specialization, internal process is positively relate to the formalization, while customer related e-commerce is directly relate to the decentralization and the specialization in terms of organizational management.

  • 본 논문은 다양한 침입행위를 탐지하고 보안시스템의 효율적 관리를 보장하는 국방전산망과 같은 대규모 네트워크 환경에 적합한 계층적 구조의 통합보안관리시스템 모델에 대한 연구이다. 전산망 위협요소 및 공격유형에 따른 취약점을 분석하여 필요한 전산망 보호기술을 판단하고 침입차단/탐지시스템, 안티바이러스 시스템, 취약점분석 시스템 등의 보안시스템과 상호연동 모델을 분석하여, 도출된 요구사항을 기반으로 대규모 조직에 적합한 계층구조의 통합보안관리시스템의 구축 방안을 제시하였다.

  • Recently, many korean construction companies have faced many environmental changes and demands for external changes. This demand for external changes is necessary for all companies that is under the survival of fittest. The internal/external of environmental changes affect the organizations of company largely, and these management organizations have relation with the corporate of management performance closely. In response to that, to be adapted to the environmental change and to raise the corporate of management performance, the construction companies have tried to change the organizations such as organization re-design, organization re-build, organization innovation. Because the organizational structure that is preventive in the growth of companies bring a negative effect, the companies need to have the effective organizations to raise the corporate value. The effective organizations could be used the important indicator that builds the corporate goals and manages the organizations. Also, the organization development and organization management can prepare for environmental changes can be the important base to increase the management performance. Therefore, After surveying and analyzing the character of organization structure in respect to the OLC, this study present the Organization Structure Model that can design the appropriate organization by the growth of companies.
