A Study on Optical Properties of Nanocomposite Composed of Au Nanorods and Organic Dyes (금 나노막대와 유기 염료로 구성된 나노복합체의 광학특성 연구)

  • In this study, we studied optical properties on the layer-by-layer (LbL) assemblies consisting of Au nanorods and organic dyes. For this purpose, poly (allylamine hydrochloride), PAH and poly (styrene sulfonate), PSS were selected as ionic polymers and rhodamine B isothiocyanate (RB) was utilized as an organic dye based on its spectral overlap with plasmon band of Au nanorods. In the view point of assembling methods, RB was covalently attached to PAH, then, LbL structure of Au [PSS/PAH]2/PSS/PAH-RB was prepared by sequential coating of PAH, PSS, PAH-RB on Au nanorods. Since the prepared LbL assembly exhibits both plasmonic and fluorescent properties, we studied the mutual nanorod-dye properties by dissolving Au nanorods.

  • Static seals are used to seal high temperature gas and cryogenic fluid under high pressure, at interfaces between liquid rocket engine components such as combustion chamber, turbopump, gas generator, valves, etc. As thermal expansion and contraction at assembly interfaces cause undesirable leakage under cryogenic and high temperature environments, static seals applied for sealing of joint interfaces without relative motion should be designed properly. The additional function of rotation at the sealing face is also required for static seals, when the spherical flange is used for improvement of assembly at misalignment interfaces. In this study, structural analysis and leak tightness test of simulating test rig for several important interfaces are performed, to verify structural integrity of static seals.

A Study on the Structural Behavior of Fabricated Columns Reinforced with Steel sheet Forms and Angles (ㄱ형강과 강판을 이용한 조립 기둥의 거동에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to experimentally evaluate the structural behavior of built-up type column consisted of angles and y-shape steel sheet forms for filling concrete. This column for minimizing form working and reinforcement placing is able to improve capacity of construction and reduce the term of works. Thirteen 1/3 scaled columns were fabricated. The main variables are 1) effect of angles and y-shape steel sheets of fabricated columns, 2) slenderness of column, 3) eccentricity of column. The results show that the experimental capacity of built-up type column is similar to theoretical one by reinforcement concrete design code. The maximum loads increase according to the rate of angle to cross section of column.

The Synthesis of CdTe Nanowires Based on Stabilizers with Low Concentrations (저비율의 안정제를 이용한 CdTe 나노선 합성)

  • Nanomaterials (NMs) based on cadmium telluride (CdTe) are the theme of numerous research areas due to their unique chemical and physical properties. NM synthesis via a size-controlled procedure has become an intriguing research topic because NMs exhibit novel optical and physical properties depending on their size and shape. In this study, we prepared CdTe nanowires (NWs) via self-assembly from individual Nanoparticles (NPs). Thioglycolic acid (TGA)-to-Cd ion ratio of 1.3 was used instead of the traditional value of 2.4 and the reduced amount of stabilizer resulted in reorganization from individual NPs into NWs consisting of multi-layers of individual NPs. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were performed to characterize NWs. The produced nanowires were straight and long in shape and their length ranged from 500 nm to tens of micrometers.

Development of SSPA-based X-band Transmitter with Graceful Degradation (점진적 성능저하 기능을 가지는 X-대역 SSPA 송신장치 개발)

  • In this paper, we designed a 4.5kW X-band SSPA transmitter to replace the TWTA search radar transmitter with low MTBF and high maintenance cost. The transmitter is designed for the performance of over 520W average transmission output and 4.0kW maximum transmission output. In particular, by implementing a graceful degradation, it is designed to maintain better performance than conventional TWTA transmitter up to 40% (13 assembly modules) failure level of 200W power amplifier assembly. Through an experiment on the effective range of X-band, the performance of proposed transmitter verified the values of the maximum transmission output 6.1kW, spurious output 69.16dBc, RF pulse rising time 15.2ns and RF pulse falling time 16.3ns. The experiment confirmed the change of output power according to the graceful degradation due to fault injection.

  • 조립식 빗물침투형 저류블록은 우수유출 저감시설로, 황토 및 친환경 무기질 결합재를 이용하여 제작한 고강도 투수성 블록의 적층 및 요철에 의한 끼움식 조립에 의해 형성된 공간에 빗물을 저류하고, 저장된 빗물은 시간이 지남에 따라 지반으로 침투시키는 우수유출 저감용 빗물관리시설로, 집중강우 시 유출수가 발생하는 해당지역에 분산식으로 설치하여 국지적 호우 발생에 대처할 수 있으며, 지속적인 침투를 통한 지하수위 확보 및 가뭄현상의 저감은 물론, 미기후 조성과 건전한 물순환 구조 형성에 이바지하는 빗물관리기술이다. 본 기술은 집중형 대규모 빗물저류조의 적용상의 문제점과 단순저류의 한계성을 극복하고, 기존 침투시설의 낮은 침투능을 증대시키고자 저류기능과 침투기능을 동시에 확보하여 집중호우시 빠른 침투저류능을 향상시킨 조립식 빗물침투형 저류시설이다. 보다 구체적으로는 집중강우에 대한 방재적 측면과 함께 가뭄으로 발생하는 지하수위 저하 등에 친환경적으로 대응하기 위한 복합적인 빗물관리 기술로서, 빗물 유출저감과 함께 물순환 회복 및 저영향개발을 위한 각 지자체의 지침과도 부합될 수 있다. 또한, 콘크리트 제품의 환경적 문제점과 플라스틱 제품의 낮은 물성을 극복하였고, 시공 시에는 보다 현장상황에 맞게 가변적 형태로 적용이 가능한 단순조립 적층공법으로 공기단축에 탁월한 장점이 있으며, 유지관리 시에는 별도의 동력이 요구되지 않는 형태로 개발하였다. 조립식 빗물침투저류블록의 구조체를 이루는 단위 블록유닛은 투수성 소재로 제작되며, 상하부가 개방되어 있고 사각형의 내부에 힘을 받는 격벽과 전후벽이 상호 대응되는 요철로 형성되어 있으며, 단위블록 유닛 다수개가 수직수평으로 연속적으로 조립되어 규모의 제한, 형태의 제한이 없는 구조물 형성이 가능하다. 본 구조체의 저류공극율은 80%이상 확보 가능하며, 또한 블록자체의 투수율이 0.83mm/sec로서 순모래나 순자갈의 포화투수계수보다 투수율이 높아 침투저류 효율성이 높으며 시공 후 상부 토지는 자유롭게 활용 가능하다. 본 조립식 빗물 침투형 저류블록을 이용하여 저영향개발 계획, 우수유출 저감대책 수립, 빗물관리시설 계획시 기존의 시설들에 비하여 경제적, 효율적인 설계가 가능하다.

An Amplitude Comparison Direction-Finding Antenna Assembly for Mounting on a Small Flight Vehicle (소형 비행체 탑재를 위한 크기 비교용 방향 탐지 안테나 조립체)

  • In this paper, a compact antenna assembly for an amplitude comparison direction-finding(DF) method for a small flight vehicle is presented. Designed antenna assembly consists of four antennas and it is mounted on a radius of 1.45 λc where λc corresponds to the wavelength of the center frequency. To achieve compactness and robustness of the assembly, the elements are fed by end-launch feeding method and have modified aperture shapes of E- or H-sectoral horns. The feeding part consists of SMA connector, stepped impedance matching structure, and square waveguide of 0.6 λc × 0.6 λc. To achieve different main beam directions for every antenna which is required condition for amplitude comparison DF method, all apertures of the antennas are inclined and it makes the main beam direction of each antenna to top, bottom, left, and right with respect to the axis of the platform. To verify the validation of DF performance of the presented antenna assembly, amplitude comparison curves using measurement results are presented. The bandwidth of the antennas are above 3.2 % in Ku-band(VSWR ≤ 2:1).

  • Satellites are generally put in horizontal configuration to install a weighty, large and deploying SAR antenna which is required precise alignment. It is not to damage an antenna deployment mechanism from impellent strength as SAR antenna rotation axis is aligned with the gravity axis and SAR antenna is put in a zero gravity condition. In order to install such a deploying antenna, satellite should be a same condition of the vertical configuration without the deflection of satellite when it is rotated horizontally. In this paper, it is shown how to measure the deflection of satellite and how to get a reaction force value for compensating the deflection.

  • The Fuel Test Loop (FTL) consists of In-Pile Test Section (IPS) and Out-of-Pile System (OPS). The test condition in IPS such as pressure, temperature and quality of the main cooling water, can be controlled by the OPS. The FTL has been developed to be able to irradiate three pins to the core irradiation hole (IR1 hole) by considering for its utility and user's irradiation requirement. The IPS vessel assembly (IVA) consists of IPS head, outer pressure vessel, inner pressure vessel, inner assembly and test fuel carrier. The IVA is approximately 5.6 m long and fits within a 74 mm in diameter envelope over the full height of the chimney. Above the top of the chimney, the head of the IPS is enlarged to allow the closure flanges and pipe work connections. IVA was designed to test the CANDU and PWR nuclear fuel pin together. Specially, wished to minimize interference by nuclear fuel change in design and synthesize these items and shape design for IVA.

  • This study is for a bulletproof experiment through speed acceleration of steel ball(2.385 mm) at the laboratory level. The secondary propulsion method is used for speed acceleration, which uses a sabot assembly consisting of a sabot body, a plunger, water, and a sabot cap. At the core of the secondary drive, it is important that the energy in the water of the private particle is transferred well to the steel ball. The experiment was conducted by selecting a plunger that pushes water and water charged with variables. judging that the longer the contact time, the greater the energy transferred to the steel ball. As a result of experiments with each variable, the amount of water does not affect the speed acceleration efficiency of the steel ball and, when the length of the plunger is increased by 200 %, the speed of the steel ball can be accelerated up to 130 m/s.
