  • Strength development of concrete subjected to cold weather is generally delayed due to its low temperature. In case of soil nailing method, it is necessary to apply the shotcrete. However, the shotcrete placement under low temperature experiences retardation of strength development due to delayed hydration reaction. Therefore, in this paper, the use of fine particle cement which is produced through particle classification in cement manufacturing process, is discussed to enhance the strength development of the shotcrete under low temperature. According to the results, the concrete containing 100% of fine particle cement had excellent strength development even at $-9^{\circ}C$ of temperature and at 5days, it reached design strength with PE film curing. It is thought that more than 70% of fine particle cement can secure required strength of the shotcrete even at low temperature condition.

  • Although the accelerators are used at the early stage to control setting-time and strength of concrete when cold-weather concrete is utilized, no security of workability occurs because the early hydration makes them react rapidly. Therefore, the tablet used in previous study is applied in this study. In particular, because a small amount of fly-ash being replaced in cold weather concrete of domestic, fly-ash concrete incorporating the tablet is discussed in workability by elapsed time, early strength to ensure the development of adequate strength, and freezing-thawing resistance. As a result, both 0.5 and 1.0% tablets were found to be superior. Thus, it was verified in cold weather concrete incorporating fly-ash that workability can be secured, as well as the development of early strength to prevent early frost.

  • The hydration and strength of concrete are affected by curing conditions, especially curing temperature. In this paper, the hydration temperature of heated curing concrete specimen are measured by thermo-couples instead of conduction calorimeter, and strengths of concrete are tested. The results of this study show that the compressive strengths of concrete are especially dependent on the curing temperature. And the strength results of concrete agree approximately with the results of approach to the hydration process of cement concrete.

  • Purpose: Research and development of high-strength concrete enables high-rise buildings and reduces the self-weight of the structure by reducing the cross-section, thereby reducing the thickness of beams and slabs to build more floors. A large effective space can be secured and the amount of reinforcement and concrete used to designate the base surface can be reduced. Method: In terms of field construction and quality, the effect of reducing the occurrence of drying shrinkage can be confirmed by studying the combination of low water bonding ratio and minimizing bleeding on the concrete surface. Result: The ease of site construction was confirmed due to the high self-charging property due to the increased fluidity by using high-performance water reducing agents, and the advantage of shortening the time to remove the formwork by expressing the early strength of concrete was confirmed. These experimental results show that the field application of ultra-high-strength concrete with a design standard strength of 100 MPa or higher can be expanded in high-rise buildings. Through this study, we experimented and evaluated whether ultra-high-strength concrete with a strength of 130 MPa or higher, considering the applicability of high-rise buildings with more than 120 floors in Korea, could be applied in the field. Conclusion: This study found the optimal mixing ratio studied by various methods of indoor basic experiments to confirm the applicability of ultra-high strength, produced 130MPa ultra-high strength concrete at a ready-mixed concrete factory similar to the real size, and tested the applicability of concrete to the fluidity and strength expression and hydration heat.

  • The use of fly ash in cement and concrete industries has many benefits including engineering, economic, and ecological aspects. However, it has a disadvantage of low strength development, especially at early ages. In this study, in order to overcome this problem, the early strength accelerating agent($NA_{2}$ $SO_{4}$) was selected and applied to the production of high strength concrete(HSC) containing fly ash. It was found that the compressive strength of fly ash concrete incorporating TEX>$NA_{2}$ $SO_{4}$ has greater than that of concrete containing fly ash only until 7 days after casting. From the microstructural point of view, ettringite increased and pores decreased in fly ash concrete incorporating TEX>$NA_{2}$ $SO_{4}$ , leading to the development of early age strength. It was also found that the velocity vs. strength relationship of HSC is considerably different from that of low-strength concrete(LSC). Therefore, in order to predict early age strength of HSC, a estimation equation different from that for LSC is needed.

  • Nowadays, with high-storied and large-sized of structures, high-strength concrete is applied to the various kinds of concrete structure. Among of them, for reduction of completion time, high-strength concrete is applied to the high-storied tower, building which is constructed continuously by the slip-form method and it is expected to be on the increase. In this case, it is very important to grasp development of early-strength to apply the slip-form method. But the strength data prior 1 day is rare. Therefore, to apply slip-form method in field, this study aim is to present basic data for development of early-strength of high-strength concrete, through examining development of strength by different curing temperature, replacement of fly-ash.

  • The quality of the concrete compression strength can be determined after the passage of 28 days, but if any defect is found the quality of concrete after that length of time, there can be serious problems in dismantling and repair. Thus, in response to the use of concrete using non sintering cement (NSC), the present study purposed to propose a method of managing the strength of high strength concrete using NSC in comparison with high strength concrete using ordinary Portland cement (OPC) through early strength estimation using microwave, which enables the quick estimation of the strength of high strength concrete using NSC.

  • This study selected a method which uses high early strength cement as a way to reduce the curing time and curing energy source of concrete secondary products and reviewed the improvement in the initial strength of concrete secondary products setting the target strength of the concrete capable of removing the form to 15MPa and the curing time to 6 hours. As a result of the test, the only specimen which achieved the form removal strength of 15 MPa only through atmospheric curing within the target curing time of 6hours was ACC-100, and the specimens of TRC-100 and TRC-50 satisfied the values of 6 hours and 15MPa through steam curing. However, we could see that it was difficult to secure workability in the case of the specimen of ACC-100 due to its high rapid setting property and a retarder such as anhydrous citric acid was required to be used to improve the workability. When we look into the pattern following changes in the water to binder ratio, while, in the case of stream curing, OPC-100, TRC-100, and TRC-50 were all found to satisfy achievement of the form removal strength within 6hours as the water to binder ratio decreased, in the case of atmospheric curing, TRC-100, and TRC-50 achieved 15MPa within 12hours.
