In this study, the analogies in the chemistry domain of middle school science textbooks developed under the 2007 revised National Curriculum were analyzed. A total of 235 analogies were found in 27 middle school science textbooks analysed, which means that one analogy per 10 pages was used on average. The number of analogies found in each textbook considerably varied depending on both publishing company and chemistry domain. Functional analogies, verbal and pictorial analogies, analogies with abstract target and concrete analog, enriched analogies, everyday contexts analogies, student-centered analogies, and analogies with low systematicity were frequently used. On presenting the analogies in the textbooks, the term analogy and description about the limitations of the analogies were rarely mentioned. In comparison with the analogies in the science textbooks developed under the 7th National Curriculum, the frequency of analogies per page was increased. There were positive changes in the aspects of representation, extent of mapping and artificiality. No differences, however, were found in the patterns of the other aspects.
Several researches have been proposed to formalize the knowledge preconditions problem - j.e., an action or a plan is epistemically feasible. However, since the feasibility is only checked at design-time and is assumed that it will also 1)e feasible at run-time, it is not suitable in the context of Semantic Web services composition, where many agents should share the limited resources required for the execution of Web services composition. Therefore, in this paper, we formalize a transactionally executable Web services composition which enables to guarantee its atomicity. Moreover, in order to formalize the transactional executability, we propose $TL-ALCFK_{NF}$ which extends TL-ALCF with the modal operators K and A. Based on $TL-ALCFK_{NF}$, we show how to carry out the epistemic reasoning with TL-ALCF as a language to represent Semantic Web services composition.
This study intended to examine the English-Medium Instruction (EMI) policy in terms of developmental background and current situation in Chinese and Korean higher education institutions and to provide policy implications for each country. EMI policy in China and Korea shared common characteristics that the EMI courses in both countries were expanded through government leadership at the beginning in order to respond to internationalization since early 2000s. In terms of the differences, EMI policy in China aimed to improve educational quality and nurture bilingual talents while in Korea it primarily aimed to attract international students and internationalize universities. Although both governments took the lead in implementing the policy, universities in two nations responded differently. While the Chinese universities merely followed the government policy to expand EMI courses, its Korean counterparts had a more strong intention to increase EMI courses. Related policy implications were addressed.
This study aims to find the method to promote interaction in L2 classrooms. Active interaction between learner-to-learner and learner-to-teacher in L2 classroom plays an important role in language acquisition. In light of this, L2 classroom would benefit with the help of learning tools such as Clickers which helps learners to express their level of understanding during the process of learning itself. This is because the anonymity of Clickers allows learners to express their needs without the social risks associated with speaking up in the class. It allows for an evaluative feedback loop where both learners and teachers understand the level of progress of the learners, better enabling classrooms to adapt to the learners' needs. Eventually this tool promotes participation from learners, This is in turn, believed to be effective in fostering classroom interaction, allowing learning to take place in a more comfortable yet vibrant way. This study is finalized by presenting the result of an experiment conducted to verify the effectiveness of this approach when teaching pragmatic aspect of the Korean expressions with similar semantic functions. As a result of the research, the learning achievement of learners in the experimental group was found higher than the learners' in a control group. Analyzing the data collected from a questionnaire given to the learners, the study presented data suggesting that this approach increased the scope of interactivity in the classroom, thus enhancing more active participation among learners. This active participation in turn led to a marked improvement in their communicative abilities.
The aim of this research is to obtain a basic quantitative understanding of the effect of a noncondensable gas on the absorption of water vapor by a $H_2O$ / LiBr combination with n-octanol as the surfactant. Nonflowing aqueous solutions of LiBr (40,45,50 mass%) were exposed to saturated water vapor following the addition of an n-octanol sufactant (0.01 and 0.6 mass%). A small amount of a noncondensable gas (air) was allowed into the absorber (0.03 volume%) and its effect was analyzed by measuring the amount of water vapor absorbed. This study will aid to predict the performance of heat pump and safety operating condition when the noncondensable gas is not allowed in the absorber The results indicate that, in the presence of small amounts of a noncondensable gas, vapor absorption enhancement ratios are less than half o( those obtained under the same experimental conditions when a noncondensable gas is not present (1). The presence of a noncondensable gas causes the partial vapor pressure of air to increase at the vapor / liquid interface, which results in an instability of vapor absorption rate nd. hence, in an inhibition of interfacial disturbance.

The aim of this study is to prepare basic data that can be used for evaluation and intervention by investigating the characteristics of diphthongs produced by children with speech sound disorders. To confirm this, two groups of 10 children each, with and without speech sound disorders were asked to imitate the meaningless two-syllable 'diphthongs + da'. The slope of F1 and F2, amount of change of formant, and duration of glide were analyzed by Praat (version 6.1.16). As a result, the difference between the two groups was found in the slope of F1 of /ju/. Children with speech sound disorders had smaller changes in formants and shorter duration time values compared to normal children, and there were statistically significant differences. The amount of change in formant in the glide was found in F1 of /ju, jɛ/, F2 of /jɑ, jɛ/, and there were significant differences in the duration of glide in /ju, jɛ/. The results of this study showed that the range of articulation of diphthongs in children with speech sound disorders is relatively smaller than that of normal children, thus the time it takes to articulate was reduced. These results suggest that the range of articulation and acoustic analysis should be further investigated for evaluation and intervention regarding diphthongs of children with speech sound disorders.
This study was conducted to evaluate the perception and satisfaction of undergraduates majoring in culinary arts and food service with working and internship abroad. The responses of the participants to 10 questions regarding perception and 13 questions regarding the importance and satisfaction with working and internship abroad were measured on a 5 point Likert scale. The primary results were as follows : 1) The subjects were composed of 50.9% male and 49.1% female students, of which 42.1% were employed and 57.9% experienced an internship abroad. 2) Most students went abroad to gain experience with respect to various foreign cultures in response to recommendations by the western cuisine department. 3) The items "I wish to conduct my affairs continuously"(M=4.21) and "I have good relationships with my colleagues at work"(M=4.11) received the highest points from male and female respondents, respectively. 4) Male students considered "cooperation among divisions"(M=4.11), "language skills"(M=4.38), and "kitchen environment"(M=4.34) to be very important. However, female students believed that "language skills"(M=4.36),"social relationships"(M=4.21), and "wage income"(M=4.18) were most important. Furthermore, male students were most satisfied with "company size" (M=4.28), "kitchen environment"(M=4.21), and "business hours"(M=4.10), while female students were most satisfied with "kitchen environment","incentive"(M=4.14) and "social relationships"(M=4.11).

We examine the clinical efficacies of fluoxetine in treating the children with selective mutism. In an 8-week open-label clinical study, 17 children with selective mutism are received 20-60mg/day of fluoxetine. Our results reveal that 13 subjects(76%) of 17 subjects improve statistically in within subjects comparison of pre- and post-treatment changes in the scores of Clinical Global Impression scale for mutism, Children’s Depression Inventory scale, and Revised Children’s Manifest Anxiety Scale. These data suggest that selective serotonergic antidepressants may be effective in treating selective mutism in children and adolescents.

This study experimented with automatic classification of subject headings using BERT-based transfer learning model, and analyzed its performance. This study analyzed the classification performance according to the main class of KDC classification and the category type of subject headings. Six datasets were constructed from Korean national bibliographies based on the frequency of the assignments of subject headings, and titles were used as classification features. As a result, classification performance showed values of 0.6059 and 0.5626 on the micro F1 and macro F1 score, respectively, in the dataset (1,539,076 records) containing 3,506 subject headings. In addition, classification performance by the main class of KDC classification showed good performance in the class General works, Natural science, Technology and Language, and low performance in Religion and Arts. As for the performance by the category type of the subject headings, the categories of plant, legal name and product name showed high performance, whereas national treasure/treasure category showed low performance. In a large dataset, the ratio of subject headings that cannot be assigned increases, resulting in a decrease in final performance, and improvement is needed to increase classification performance for low-frequency subject headings.

The element free Galerkin method has been suggested by Belyschko, etc. it is applied for linear elastic analysis of solid problems and its convergence characteristics and stability are shown according to the weight function, influence domain and scattered points. The various numerical examples are performed to check the efficiency of 1D EFG and 2D EFG program by changing factors. As a result it have the best results when it used the cubic spline weight function and the scaling parameter d$_{max}$=2. These programs were developed by mixed language programming method using Visual Basic and the C language. so it is fast and efficient. and visually shown the result.t.
