Altemative Instructional Methods and Strategies for Effective Computer Programming Education (컴퓨터 프로그래밍 교육에 적용 가능한 효과적 교수방법의 탐색적 대안)

  • For teaching-learning activities to be effective, the teaching methods need to reflect the contents of instructional materials and the characteristics of the learners. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effective ways of teaching computer programming languages. The main components of teaching computer programming languages might be the characteristics of the language itself, the function of design, and general problem-solving capacity. But the analysis of the Quality and environments of learners is much more important. To improve the Quality of teaching computer programming languages, the structured syllabus needs to be provided and a variety of teaching methods such as project-based approach, problem-based approach, cooperative learning, peer tutoring and case study should be applied selectively, depending upon the instructional situations. In addition, procedural and constructive evaluation process needs to be developed to monitor each stage of learning and to give the guidelines of completing the course projects.

  • Das Wortspiel $hei{\ss}t$ die spielerische $Ver\"{a}nderung$ eines Wortes zum Zwecke $\"{u}berraschender$ Wirkungen, und die Werbetexter betrachten es monentan als ein beliebtes, wirkungsvolles Ausdrucksmittel $f\"{u}r$ die Werbeanzeigen. (1) Sag mal, wie war eigentlich dein erstes Mal? Und wie oft machst du es in der Woche? Und was sagt deine beste Freundin dazu? -Gesichtsreinigungsmittel Clearasil Complete(Janich, 1999:146) (2) 대장님 힘 내세요! 뒷일은 제가 책임지겠습니다. -아락실 (3) 당신은 철없는 여자. -헤모큐 Das Wortspiel $l\"{a}{\ss}t$ den Referenzbezug ausweiten, vage oder $ungew\"{o}hnlich$ werden. Dadurch werden konventionelle Referenzerwartungen der Rezipienten verletzt und unterbrochen. Wortspiele mit Homonyme, Polyseme, Wortkreuzungen, und Referenzspiele sind sehr $h\"{a}ufig$, und die syntaktische und typographische Spiele dagegen eher selten. Die Wirkung des Wortspiel beruht auf die $Ambiguit\"{a}t$ eines Wortes. Aber zwischen der$Ambiguit\"{a}t$ und der Vagheit gibt es den $un\"{u}bersehbaren$ referenziellen Unterschied. $W\'{a}hrend$ diese, die durch die pragmatische Mehrdeutigkeit oder die Unbestimmtheit charakterisiert ist, mit der in einer $\"{A}u{\ss}erung ausgedr\"{u}ckten$ Vorstellung zu tun hat, handelt es bei jener um die Probleme der linguistischen Kategorien an, die unter lexikalischem, semantischem, und syntaktischem Aspekt mehrfach zu spezifizieren sind. Prediction Model of Software Size for 4GL and Database Projects

  • An important task for any software project manager is to be able to predict and control project size. Unfortunately, there is comparatively little work that deals with the problem of building prediction methods for software size in fourth-generation languages and database projects. In this paper, we propose a new estimation method for estimating for software size based on minimum relative error(MRE) criterion. The characteristic of the proposed method is insensitive to the extreme values of the observed measures which can be obtained early in the development life cycle. In order to verify the performance of the proposed estimation method for software size in terms of both quality of fit and predictive quality, the experiments has been conducted for the dataset Ⅰ and Ⅱ, respectively. For the data set Ⅰ and Ⅱ, our proposed prediction method was shown to be superior to the traditional method LS and RLS in terms of both the quality of fit and predictive quality when applied to data obtained from actual software development projects.

  • Growing worldwide interest in software and spread awareness of the need for education. A software-driven society realization strategy will achieve mandatory training on software. This policy will be applied from middle school students in 2015. Students who are interested in computers, like many positive responses, student learning may seem hard to have a negative reaction. Thus, the present obligation as simple in practice education only and discarded before actually lost interest awarded a systematic education does not work properly, but rather that education could happen to entirely discard turn our attention. Accordingly, what you need is to have a systematic training from the basics that I need to worry about software that can recognize easy and fun. In this paper, we propose a hardware and basic software that allows you to proceed software training more easy and efficient as it can be modified and applied to the program in the production unit to learn programming tools and programming languages.

A Proposal for Component Formal Specification Activities Using Z (Z를 이용한 컴포넌트 정형 명세 활동의 제안)

  • As a plan to counteract solving software crisis, the technology that is called Component Based Software Engineering (CBSE or Componentware) is introsuced. Component Based Software Developement (CBSD) Processes as one of the technique among CBSE have been proposed. Component specification activities among CBSD Processed are necessary and important for generating feusable component. However, the existing CBSD processed can't ensure the correctness in requirements are reflected. In this paper, we propose that formal activities wgich specify component using formal specification language Z which is verified with the ability of analysis and logicality. The proposed activities are composed of 5 tasks and 12 subtasks. By presenting specific 19 products, it is also proposed that component specification activities which are the base of CBSD for reusing. The proposed activities are able to improve qualities of component through correctness and verification of requirements specification of users in the early step of component-based software process.

  • In this paper, we proposed a new circuit construction method that reduces the number of circuit devices of fuzzy controller. Sasaki had defined a new operator to eliminate the divide circuit comparing with the center of gravity method which often using to design the fuzzy controller. In this paper we obtained the more compacted fuzzy controller's circuit by using the proposed definition of fuzzification and defuzzification than using the Sasaki's method and the fuzzification and defuzzification are reverse operation each other. Using these definitions we exhibit the new design method and circuit structure that can eliminate the bounded product(BP) circuit included in Sasaki's circuit. Using the proposed method to level controlling of the water tank, we verified the fuzzy controller's performance by using existent method and proposed method. As a result that are calculated by using the Proposed fuzzy controller to level controlling of the water tank, total numbers of blocks and devices were decreased. If the number of variables and antecedents are Be11ing larger, this method is more efficient.

A Comparative Study of Second Language Acquisition Models: Focusing on Vowel Acquisition by Chinese Learners of Korean (중국인 학습자의 한국어 모음 습득에 대한 제2언어 습득 모델 비교 연구)

  • This study provided longitudinal examination of the Chinese learners' acquisition of Korean vowels. Specifically, I examined the Chinese learners' Korean monophthongs /i, e, ɨ, ${\Lambda}$, a, u, o/ that were created at the time of 1 month and 12 months, tried to verify empirically how they learn by dealing with their mother tongue, and Korean vowels through dealing with pattern of the Perceptual Assimilation Model (henceforth PAM) of Best (Best, 1993; 1994; Best & Tyler, 2007) and the Speech Learning Model (henceforth SLM) of Flege (Flege, 1987; Bohn & Flege, 1992, Flege, 1995). As a result, most of the present results are shown to be similarly explained by the PAM and SLM, and the only discrepancy between these two models is found in the 'similar' category of sounds between the learners' native language and the target language. Specifically, the acquisition pattern of /u/ and /o/ in Korean is well accounted for the PAM, but not in the SLM. The SLM did not explain why the Chinese learners had difficulty in acquiring the Korean vowel /u/, because according to the SLM, the vowel /u/ in Chinese (the native language) is matched either to the vowel /u/ or /o/ in Korean (the target language). Namely, there is only a one-to-one matching relationship between the native language and the target language. In contrast, the Chinese learners' difficulty for the Korean vowel /u/ is well accounted for in the PAM in that the Chinese vowel /u/ is matched to the vowel pair /o, u/ in Korean, not the single vowel, /o/ or /u/.

History of ICM (ICM의 초기역사 -태동기부터 제5차 ICM까지를 중심으로-)

  • The International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) will next be held in Seoul, Korea from August 13th to 21st 2014. The ICM, currently hosted by the International Mathematical Union, has a history spanning a period of one hundred years and is traditionally held every four years. Felix Klein has often been credited with formulating the concept of the ICM, however George Cantor not only initially propagated the idea of forming a mathematical society in Germany, but also proposed organizing an international mathematical union. This study has endeavored to investigate the early period of development of the ICM. Specifically, this paper has studied the development of early 20th century mathematics through changes in the formulaic language of the ICM, the number of participants, the number of presentations, the nationality of plenary speakers, and the changes in sessions.

Case Study of the Sixth Grade Students' Quantitative Reasoning (초등학교 6학년 학생의 양적 추론 사례 연구)

  • This study analyzed the types of quantitative reasoning and the characteristics of representation in order to figure out the characteristics of quantitative reasoning of the sixth graders. Three students who used quantitative reasoning in solving problems were interviewed in depth. Results showed that the three students used two types of quantitative reasoning, that is difference reasoning and multiplicative reasoning. They used qualitatively different quantitative reasoning, which had a great impact on their problem-solving strategy. Students used symbolic, linguistic and visual representations. Particularly, they used visual representations to represent quantities and relations between quantities included in the problem situation, and to deduce a new relation between quantities. This result implies that visual representation plays a prominent role in quantitative reasoning. This paper included several implications on quantitative reasoning and quantitative approach related to early algebra education.

An Analysis of Analogies in the Chemistry Domain of Middle School Science Textbooks Developed under the 2007 Revised National Curriculum (2007 개정 중학교 과학 교과서의 화학 영역에 사용된 비유의 분석)

  • In this study, the analogies in the chemistry domain of middle school science textbooks developed under the 2007 revised National Curriculum were analyzed. A total of 235 analogies were found in 27 middle school science textbooks analysed, which means that one analogy per 10 pages was used on average. The number of analogies found in each textbook considerably varied depending on both publishing company and chemistry domain. Functional analogies, verbal and pictorial analogies, analogies with abstract target and concrete analog, enriched analogies, everyday contexts analogies, student-centered analogies, and analogies with low systematicity were frequently used. On presenting the analogies in the textbooks, the term analogy and description about the limitations of the analogies were rarely mentioned. In comparison with the analogies in the science textbooks developed under the 7th National Curriculum, the frequency of analogies per page was increased. There were positive changes in the aspects of representation, extent of mapping and artificiality. No differences, however, were found in the patterns of the other aspects.
