일부 제조업 근로자의 스트레스와 정신건강에 관한 연구 (Work Stress and Mental Health of the Industrial Workers)

  • Information on work stress and mental health status of industrial workers was required for optimum staffing and health care management. This study dealt with the relationship between mental health status examined by PSI(psychiatric symptom index) and socio-demographic variables. Especially this study attempted to find relevant determinants of the stress and mental health through multiple stepwise regression analysis based on data obtained from 687 occupational workers. The findings of this study were as follows; Mean scores of symptom dimension were higher in youth, female, more educated, unmarried and divorced, and workers in the noisy condition and short duration in job. And it showed high scores in long duration in job for anxiety; college educated for anger; unmarried for cognitive disturbance. The factors affecting the mean scores of psychiatric symptom index were varied according to the types of symptom: age, sex and duration in job for anxiety; age, sex, living with parent, education and marital status for anger; sex and marital status for depression; noisy condition and sex for cognitive disorder.

가구제조업 근로자의 누적외상성장해에 대한 자각증상 (Subjective Symptoms of Cumulative Trauma Disorder in Furniture Manufacturing Workers)

  • This study was carried out from January to March in 1996 to investigate subjective symptoms of cumulative trauma disorder (CTD). This survey was done by questionnaire of the Personal Ergonomics Profiles (PEP), which was developed by Johnson & Johnson. Number of respondents was 365 employees who were working in three furniture manufactories in Kwangjoo at Province Kyungki. The results were as follows : 1. There was no difference between clerical and labor workers in pain frequencies classified by general characteristics. However, labor workers showed statistically significant differences between working process in pain frequencies. Employees undertaking lifting work showed highest scores in frequencies of pain complaints. Comparing the number of pain occurrences, the married and the female was resulted in high score than the single and the male. There was no differences between ages and working experiences in group. 2. According to the mean frequency of body pain, the back was the most part to be complained in 1. 16 and followed by shoulder, neck, knee, wrist/hand, and forearm in order. Although, the study results showed that the workers working in furniture manufacture were not shown that they have had severe CTD, the female, the married and the the lifting workers were indicated as risk groups to CTD. Therefore, the development of backache prevention programe is necessary to manage pain control and to reduce health risks of CTD employees in their work environment.

제조업에 종사하는 정신장애인 근로자의 이직의도 관련요인 (Factors Affecting Turnover Intention of People with Mentally Disabilities Working in Manufacturing Industry)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify turnover intentions in workers with mentally disabilities working in manufacturing industry. Methods: Participants were 147 workers with mentally disabled living in B-city and Y-city. The data were collected from September 1st to November 30th, 2011 using self-report questionnaires including measurements of turnover intentions, family support, work volition, working environment, job satisfaction and internalized stigma. Data analysis was done using the SPSS/WIN 18.0 program. Results: The average score for turnover intention was $2.9{\pm}0.7$. Turnover intention was related to job satisfaction, working environment, family support and internalized stigma. The predicting factors for turnover intention were job satisfaction, internalized stigma and gender. Those factors accounted for 41.9% of turnover intention. Conclusion: The results imply that workers with mentally disabled need to reduce internalized stigma as well as to increase job satisfaction in order to decrease turnover intention.

일개 전자제품 제조업 근로자에서 교대근무와 불안증상: 비타민 D와 수면의 질의 매개효과 (Shift Work and Anxiety Symptoms at an Electronic Manufacture Company: The mediating effect of vitamin D and sleep quality)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to compare vitamin D levels, sleep quality, and anxiety symptoms between shift workers and daytime workers and analyze the mediating effect of vitamin D and sleep quality between shift work and anxiety symptoms. Methods: The subjects of the study were 6744 people who received a medical examination while working for an electronics manufacturing company in 2016. We evaluated their shift work, vitamin D levels, sleep quality, and anxiety symptoms with blood samples and questionnaires. Chi-square test, t-test and path statistical analysis were performed. Results: The shift workers had significantly higher symptoms of anxiety than the day workers, significantly lower levels of vitamin D in the blood, and significantly poorer quality of sleep. The results of the pathway analysis confirmed that blood vitamin D and sleep quality had a mediating effect between shift work and anxiety symptoms. Conclusions: Shift workers should be constantly paying attention to mental health effects such as anxiety symptoms. Shift workers should also be alerted of the risk of vitamin D deficiency, encouraged about sun exposure and vitamin D intake, and required to undergo training and counseling on sleep hygiene.

제조업 근로자의 지각된 안전 분위기가 직무만족과 이직의도에 미치는 영향 (Impact of Workers' Perceptions of the Safety Climate on Job Satisfaction and Intention to Turnover in the Manufacturing Industry)

  • This study aimed to examine the impact of workers' perceptions of the safety climate on job satisfaction and intention to turnover in the manufacturing industry. Data was collected from employees(n=143) working in the manufacturing industry. The perceived safety climate included perceptions of the safety commitment of the management, safety leadership of the immediate supervisor, and safety policy. Hierarchical regressions were conducted to identify the significance of the relation between the sub-variable of the perceived safety climate and job satisfaction, and intention to turnover. The results show that safety commitment and safety policy are significant predictors of job satisfaction. The immediate supervisor's safety leadership was significantly correlated with intention to turnover. These results indicated that the perceived safety climate of workers in the manufacturing industry might influence job satisfaction and intention to turnover. Therefore, organizations in the manufacturing industry should focus on improving safety climates to enhance job satisfaction and prevent employee turnover.

자동차 제조업 근로자의 직무스트레스와 근골격계질환 자각증상에 대한 연구 (A study on Job Stress and MSDs(Musculoskeletal Disorders) of Workers at Automobile Manufacturing Industry)

  • Musculoskeletal Disorders(MSDs) have been a growing problems with higher incidence rate every year. The 65% of all work-related diseases in the US has been MSDs since the middle of the 90s according to BLS(Bureau of Labor Statistics, 1995). The MSDs in Korea has been increased in recent 10 years as well. This study has tried to focus on job stress associated with MSDs that has not been usually studied before. Specifically job stress of workers at automobile manufacturing industry and relationship between job stress and symptoms of MSDs have been major concerns in this study. The workers had higher stress with longer working experience, longer working hours, and worse working environment. The job stress had strong association with the symptoms at hand, wrist and low back. Specifically, job stress factors such as job requirement and job future ambiguity had more effects on the symptoms of MSDs.

남자 제조업 근로자의 직무스트레스, 피로도, 안전보건서비스의 경험이 건강문제에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Job Stress, Fatigue, and Health and Safety Services on Health Issues of Male Manufacturing Workers)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate whether there were differences in manufacturing industry worker's health issues depending on job stress, fatigue, and health and safety services. Methods: The purpose of the questionnaire survey and its contents were explained to manufacturing industry health personnel, and the questionnaires were collected from 666 workers from 17 manufacturing workplaces. Questionnaires with missing data were excluded from the analysis so a total of 632 questionnaires were included. Results: Overall, 74.1% of the respondents had experienced health issues during the preceding month. The factors affecting worker health were number of workers(OR=1.000034, p=.013), job demand(OR=1.82, p=.009), MFS(OR=1.85, p=.003), provision of safety & health information(OR=1.85, p=.048), wearing protector(OR=2.58, p=.021). Conclusion: It is necessary to strengthen the safety and health education to mitigate hazardous and risk factors. Employers should provide health managers in charge of safety and health education to control workplace risk factors. In case of small businesses, it may be necessary to strengthen safety and health education in existing worker health centers and government support projects.

견비통을 가진 남성 제조업 근로자에 대한 수지요법 적용의 효과 (Effects of Hand Acupressure to Male Manufacturing Workers with Shoulder Pain)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of hand acupressure in relieving shoulder pain among male manufacturing workers. Methods: A nonequivalent control group was employed using a nonsynchronized design. Data were collected from two manufacturing plants located in metropolitan area U. The data were analyzed with a ${\chi}^2$-test and an independent t-test to perform a homogeneity test, and with repeated ANOVA measures to perform an hypothesis test using the SPSS 21.0 program. Results: Hypothesis 1 that "the experimental group provided with hand moxibustion would score lower for low shoulder pain than the control group" was supported (F=306.05, p<.001). Hypothesis 2, that "the experimental group provided with hand moxibustion would have a wider range of motion than the control group" was also supported with increased flexion(F=7.73, p<.001), extension(F=7.89, p=.001), abduction(F=21.23, p<.001), and horizontal abduction(F=20.89, p=.028). Hypothesis 3, that "the experimental group provided with hand moxibustion would score lower for quality of sleep than the control group" was not supported (F=56.10, p=.091). Conclusions: Hand moxibustion is effective in relieving shoulder pain for male manufacturing workers, in relieving low shoulder pain and increasing the range of motion.

일부 제조업 생산직 남성근로자들의 구강건강상태 및 관련요인 (Related Factors and Oral health Status of Some Manufacturering Workers)

  • 본 연구는 근로자들을 대상으로 구강건강상태 및 관련요인을 파악하여 구강건강증진을 향상시키기 위하여 경상남도지역 일부 근로자 178명을 대상으로 자기기입식 설문지를 작성하게 하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 치아우식증이 있는 군에서 지난 1년간 치과방문경험이 있거나 치석제거경험이 있다고 응답한자에서 치아우식증이 없는 군보다 낮게 나타나 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<.05). 치아우식증이 있는 군에서 치아가 쑤시거나 욱신거리며 아픈 경험이 있다고 응답한 자가 51.3%, 잇몸이 아프거나 피가 난 경험이 있다 48.7%, 불쾌한 입냄새 경험이 있다 53.8%로 나타나 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<.05). 치은염증이 있는 군에서 지난 1년간 치석제거경험이 없거나 치은염증이 없는 군보다 낮게 나타났다(p<.001). 치은염증이 있는 군에서 하루 칫솔질 회수는 3회이상이 9.6%, 취침전 칫솔질을 항상 했다 4.7%, 구강위생보조용품 이용은 대부분 했다 5.9%로 나타나 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<.001) 치아우식증 유무에 영향을 미치는 변수로는 주관적 구강증상, 치실 또는 치간칫솔 사용여부, 구취증상 변인으로 파악되었고, 치은 염증 유무에 영향을 미치는 변수로는 취침직후 칫솔질 유무, 혀통증 증상, 구취증상, 시린치아증상, 스켈링경험여부 변인으로 파악되었다. 이상 구강검진을 통한 상담과 교육을 통해 근로자들의 구강건강에 대한 의식을 고취시켜 근로자들의 구강건강을 증진 유지시키는데 도움이 되는 방향으로 개선되어야 될 것이다.

IMF관리체제이후 전북지역의 노동시장 동향과 실업 (The Condition of Labor Market and Unemployment Rates in Chonbuk Province after the Economic Crisis)

  • 1997년 11월 대외지불 불능사태로 시작된 외환위기가 경제위기로 확산되면서 97년 4/4분기에는 2.5%에 불과하던 전북지역의 실업률은 99년 2월 8.4%로 피크를 이루었으나 그후로는 감소추세를 보이고 있다. 그렇지만 전북지역 노동시장의 전반적 고용동향을 살펴보면 실업률 통계로는 파악되지 않지만 실질적으로 준실업상태에 있는 실망노동자와 불완전취업자의 증가가 심각한 것으로 드러났다. 그리고 산업별 취업자 구조의 변화를 살펴보면 제조업과 건설업의 취업자 감소가 두드러졌으며, 농업부문이나 생계형 서비스업은 실업대란 시대에 완충역할을 해줄 것이라는 기대와는 달리 고용흡수력이 예상보다 훨씬 적은 것으로 드러났다. 취업과 실업 및 비경제활동 사이의 노동력 전이률을 살펴보면 남성과 핵심연령층에서는 취업정착률이 높지만 일단 실업자가 되면 실업으로부터의 탈출률이 낮은 것으로 드러났다. 반면에 여성의 경우에는 실망노동자(discouraged sorkers)효과로 인하여 실업률은 낮고 비경제활동으로의 이동이 크게 나타났다. 그리고 실업이나 비경활상태로부터의 (재)취업시에는 압도적으로 임시고/일고로의 취업이 많아서 98년 하반기 이후 전북지역에서 창출된 일자리가 주로 임시고/일고 위주로 이루어져 있음을 극명하게 보여준다. 한편 여성실업자의 경우 50%이상이 생계주책임자이며, 특히 여성가장 실업자의 경우에는 90%이상이 생계책임자이나 그들 대부분이 빈곤선이하에서 생활하고 있다. 그리고 전북지역에서는 전국수준에 비해서 장기실업률이 다소 높게 나타났다. 저학력층과 고령층, 생산직, 임시고일고등의 비정규직 실업자들의 구직기간이 긴 것으로 나타났다. 실업이 장기화되면 전반적으로 기간의존성효과(duration dependence effect)나 이질성효과(heterogeneity effect)로 인하여 재취업의 가능성은 더욱 떨어진다. 생산적복지(workfare)가 그 이름에 값하는 것이기 위해서는 시장경쟁력이 약한 취약계층에 대해서 직업훈련과 취업알선 및 채용장려, 공공근로 등의 제반 정책들이 가구되어야 할 것이다.
