Spatio-temporal soil moisture estimation using water cloud model and Sentinel-1 synthetic aperture radar images (Sentinel-1 SAR 위성영상과 Water Cloud Model을 활용한 시공간 토양수분 산정)

  • 본 연구는 용담댐유역을 포함한 금강 유역 상류 지역을 대상으로 Sentinel-1 SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) 위성영상을 기반으로 한 토양수분 산정을 목적으로 하였다. Sentinel-1 영상은 2019년에 대해 12일 간격으로 수집하였고, 영상의 전처리는 SNAP (SentiNel Application Platform)을 활용하여 기하 보정, 방사 보정 및 Speckle 보정을 수행하여 VH (Vertical transmit-Horizontal receive) 및 VV (Vertical transmit-Vertical receive) 편파 후방산란계수로 변환하였다. 토양수분 산정에는 Water Cloud Model (WCM)이 활용되었으며, 모형의 식생 서술자(Vegetation descriptor)는 RVI (Radar Vegetation Index)와 NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index)를 활용하였다. RVI는 Sentinel-1 영상의 VH 및 VV 편파자료를 이용해 산정하였으며, NDVI는 동기간에 대해 10일 간격으로 수집된 Sentinel-2 MSI (MultiSpectral Instrument) 위성영상을 활용하여 산정하였다. WCM의 검정 및 보정은 한국수자원공사에서 제공하는 10 cm 깊이의 TDR (Time Domain Reflectometry) 센서에서 실측된 6개 지점의 토양수분 자료를 수집하여 수행하였으며, 매개변수의 최적화는 비선형 최소제곱(Non-linear least square) 및 PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization) 알고리즘을 활용하였다. WCM을 통해 산정된 토양수분은 피어슨 상관계수(Pearson's correlation coefficient)와 평균제곱근오차(Root mean square error)를 활용하여 검증을 수행할 예정이다.

  • In this study, the property and the structure of micro-speaker had been firstly shown to be treated as a ducted speaker-system, which was consisted of the unit and the ducted enclosure. With the decrease of total hole area. the resonance frequency of micro-speaker was decreased due to increasing the stiffness or reducing the compliance. The behavior of resonance frequency relative to the total hole area was exactly agreed with that of the square root of compliance. With decreasing the total hole area. the effective chamber volume was increased, but the reference sound pressure level was exponentially reduced in the low and middle frequency range.

  • In this paper, we compare the performance of initial timing acquisition in direct sequence ultra-wideband(DS-UWB) systems with different transmit pulse shaping filters through extensive computer simulations. Simulation results show that the timing acquisition performance of the DS-UWB system, whose chip rate is 1.32 Gchip/s, employing a rectangular transmit filter is similar to that employing a square root raised cosine(SRRC) filter with an interpolation factor of 4 in the realistic UWB channels(CM1 and CM3) as well as the additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) channel. Additionally, we present both a 24-parallel digital correlator structure and a 24-parallel processing searcher operating at a 55 MHz system clock, and then briefly discuss the initial timing acquisition procedure. Because we can adopt an 1.32 Gsample/s digital-to-analog(D/A) converter and an 1.32 Gsample/s analog-to-digital(AID) converter in the DS-UWB system by employing the rectangular transmit filter, we have a realistic solution for the DS-UWB chipset development.

A Study on Improving the Reliability of DSRC Traffic Information Considering Traffic and Road Characteristics - Focusing on Busan Urban Expressway - (교통 및 도로특성을 고려한 DSRC 교통정보 신뢰성 향상에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims at improving the Reliability of DSRC Traffic information considering Traffic and Road Characteristics. First of all, this study analyzed the characteristics of DSRC data on urban expressway and problems of outlier data occurrence. After then, this study produced reliable traffic information by using an optimal method of the Outlier-Filtering. After Outlier-Filtering, this study performed accuracy evaluation and appropriateness check for the number of samples per confidence level. As a result, it showed that the MAPE was between 2.2% and 9.7% and RSME was between 2.2 and 7.5 which are very similar figures to the actual average traffic speed. Also, The samples of both Am peak and Pm peak periods were analyzed to be appropriate at the confidence level of 95%, and 90% within the allowable error range of 5kph.

  • In this paper, we present an inertial sensor-based motion capturing system to measure and analyze whole body movements. This system implements a wireless AHRS(attitude heading reference system) we developed using a combination of rate gyroscope, accelerometer and magnetometer sensor signals. Several AHRS modules mounted on segments of the patient's body provide the quaternions representing the patient segments's orientation in space. We performed 3D motion capture using the quaternion data calculated. And a method is also proposed for calculating three-dimensional inter-segment joint angle which is an important bio-mechanical measure for a variety of applications related to rehabilitation. To evaluate the performance of our AHRS module, the Vicon motion capture system, which offers millimeter resolution of 3D spatial displacements and orientations, is used as a reference. The evaluation resulted in a RMSE of 2.56 degree. The results suggest that our system will provide an in-depth insight into the effectiveness, appropriate level of care, and feedback of the rehabilitation process by performing real-time limbs or gait analysis during the post-stroke recovery process.

  • Bus Information System (BIS) collects information related to the operation of buses and provides information to users through predictive algorithms. Method of predicting through recent information in same section reflects the traffic situation of the section, but cannot reflect the characteristics of the target line. The method of predicting the historical data at the same time zone is limited in forecasting peak time with high volatility of traffic flow. Therefore, we developed a pattern recognition bus arrival time prediction algorithm which could be overcome previous limitation. This method recognize the traffic pattern of target flow and select the most similar past traffic pattern. The results of this study were compared with the BIS arrival forecast information history of Seoul. RMSE of travel time between estimated and observed was approximately 35 seconds (40 seconds in BIS) at the off-peak time and 40 seconds (60 seconds in BIS) at the peak time. This means that there is data that can represent the current traffic situation in other time zones except for the same past time zone.

  • In global automobile industry, the remanufacturing for used products has the merit to be reduced nearly 80 percent of energy consumption and resources of new product. The objective of this paper is the analysis of detailed remanufacturing processes about research object and failure modes of each process of throttle body which is one of automobile parts, to draw a FMEA and determine the degree of seriousness (S), detection (D) and occurrence (O) of many failures. And we compared the current RPN method of being used to calculate values of RPN with three suggested methods. : Summation method, Square root method, Volume method.

  • Generally, when predicting the accuracy of the anti-air artillery system, the error is classified as fixed bias, variable bias, and random error. Then the standard deviation on the target is expressed as the square root of the squared sum of each error value which comes from the random error and variable bias and in the case of fixed bias, the mean value is shifted as the sum of errors from the fixed bias. At this time, the variables indicating the displacement of the direction of azimuth and elevation direction with regard to the change of the unit value of each error are weighted. These errors are then used to predict the system's delivery accuracy through a normally distributed integral. This paper presents a method of predicting system accuracy by considering the correlation of errors. This approach shows that it helps to predict the delivery accuracy of the system, precisely.

  • Domestic film industry sales are increasing every year. Theaters are the primary sales channels for movies and the number of audiences using the theater affects additional selling rights. Therefore, the number of audiences using the theater is an important factor directly linked to movie industry sales. In this paper we consider a hybrid model that combines a multiple linear regression model and the Bass model to predict the audience numbers for a specific day. By combining the two models, the predictive value of the regression analysis was corrected to that of the Bass model. In the analysis, three films with different release dates were used. All subset regression method is used to generate all possible combinations and 5-fold cross validation to estimate the model 5 times. In this case, the predicted value is obtained from the model with the smallest root mean square error and then combined with the predicted value of the Bass model to obtain the final predicted value. With the existence of past data, it was confirmed that the weight of the Bass model increases and the compensation is added to the predicted value.

  • Fuzzy c-means clustering technique is applied to improve the accuracy of G/R ratio used for rainfall estimation by radar reflectivity. G/R ratio is computed by the ground rainfall records at AWS(Automatic Weather System) sites to the radar estimated rainfall from the reflectivity of Kwangduck Mt. radar station with 100km effective range. G/R ratio is calculated by two methods: the first one uses a single G/R ratio for the entire effective range and the other two different G/R ratio for two regions that is formed by clustering analysis, and absolute relative error and root mean squared error are employed for evaluating the accuracy of radar rainfall estimation from two G/R ratios. As a result, the radar rainfall estimated by two different G/R ratio from clustering analysis is more accurate than that by a single G/R ratio for the entire range.
