A Novel Frequency Offset Estimation Algorithm for Chirp Spread Spectrum Based on Matched Filter (정합필터 기반의 Chirp Spread Sprectrum을 위한 새로운 주파수 오프셋 추정 알고리즘)

  • A new frequency offset estimation algorithm for chirp spread spectrum based on matched filter is proposed. Generally, the differential phase between successive symbols is used for the conventional frequency offset estimation algorithm. However, if the conventional frequency offset estimation algorithm is used for CSS, phase ambiguity arises because of long symbol duration and guard time. The phase ambiguity causes performance degradation of matched filter since the received signal is corrupted by the integer frequency offset. In this paper, we propose a new frequency offset estimation algorithm which separates integer and fractional frequency offset estimation for removing the phase ambiguity. The proposed algorithm estimates the integer frequency offset by using differential phase between matched filtering results of sub-chirps and successive symbols. Then, the fractional frequency offset is estimated by using the differential phase between successive symbols Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm well removes the phase ambiguity, and have almost same estimation performance compared with conventional one when there is not the phase ambiguity.

Design of Isolation-Type Matching Network for Underwater Acoustic Piezoelectric Transducer Using Chebyshev Filter Function (체비셰프 필터함수를 이용한 수중 음향 압전 트랜스듀서의 절연형 정합회로 설계)

  • This paper presents the design method of an impedance matching network using an isolation transformer and the Chebyshev filter function for the high efficiency and the flat power driving of an underwater acoustic piezoelectric transducer. The proposed impedance matching network is designed for minimizing the reactance component of transducer and having the flat power response in the wide frequency range. We design a low pass filter with ladder-type circuit using the Chebyshev function as standard prototype filter function. In addition, we design the impedance matching network which is suitable for the equivalent circuit of transducer and the turn ratio of transformer through the bandpass frequency transformation. The proposed method is applied to the simulated dummy load of the tonpilz-type transducer operating in the middle frequency range. The simulation results are compared with the measured characteristics and the validity of the proposed method is verified.

Impedance-matching Method Improving the Performance of the SAW Filter (탄성표면파 필터의 성능 개선을 위한 임피던스 정합의 해석적 방법)

  • In this paper, a fast and easy impedance matching method, which could give the impedance matching component for the general 1 or 2-port network was introduced. First, the entire network structure was defined which consists of the network part to be matched and the impedance matching part composed of inductors and capacitors. Next, the transmission matrix and input and output impedances of the entire network from the terminal impedance conditions were calculated, then the exact solutions for the matching components were obtained. To verify the efficiency of this method, this method was applied to the CDMA If band withdrawal weighted SAW transversal filter, and investigated the effects of the impedance matching before and after, through the simulation and experiment. As the result, the performance of a fractional bandwidth of 1.2%, insertion loss of 29 dB, and VSWR of 80 have improved to a factional bandwidth of 1.8%, insertion loss of 9 dB, VSWR of 3 at 85.38 MHz center frequency. The result shows that this impedance matching method could be used in the SAW devices and other types of 1 or 2-port network.

  • 원거리에서의 얼굴 식별은 낮은 영상 해상도를 비롯하여 블러와 잡음으로 인한 어려움이 크다. 더욱이 모바일 장치에서 실시간 처리를 하기 위하여 느린 수행속도와 제한된 메모리 등 모바일 계산환경을 필히 고려하여야 한다. 본 논문은 모바일 환경에서 주파수 영역의 정합 필터를 이용한 얼굴 식별 방법을 제안한다. 얼굴 식별은 선형(linear) 및 위상(phase-only) 필터, 순차적인 검증 단계를 이용하여 수행된다. 얼굴 후보 윈도우 영역은 선형 필터와 위상 필터를 수행하여 검출하고 순차적인 검증 단계는 피부색 테스트와 경계 마스크 필터링 테스트로 구성한다. 제안된 방법은 Android 플랫폼에서 Java을 이용하여 모바일 폰에서 개발하였다. 예비실험 결과는 모바일 환경에서 얼굴 식별이 실시간으로 성공적으로 수행될 수 있음을 보인다.

Performance Analysis of the Pre-Whitening Matched Filter in Shallow Water Environment (천해환경에서 선-백색화 정합필터의 성능 분석)

  • In shallow water environment, the detection performance of an active sonar using matched filter with LFM(linear frequency modulation) pulse can be seriously degraded by reverberation which is considered as non-white noise. To reduce the effect of reverberation, a whitening filter preceding the matched fitter, is usually adopted. In the conventional pre-whitening filter, it is assumed that local stationarity is preserved between detection block and its right ahead block. And then by using the characteristics of the reverberation of preceding block, the reverberation of detection block is estimated and whitened. According to the environment of shallow water, the stationarity of reverberation may be preserved for more blocks. In this case, the reverberation of the detection block can be estimated more accurately if more blocks are used. In this paper, the real reverberation signal which is obtained from shallow sea is analyzed and its proper region of estimation block is examined. And the performance of pre-whitening matched filter is compared and analyzed according to the region of estimation block.

  • In this paper, the operation of matched filter for searching initial synchronization in direct sequence spread spectrum receiver is studied. The implementation model of the matched filter by HDL (Hardware Description Language) is proposed. The model has an architecture based on parallelism and pipeline for fast processing, which includes circular buffer, multiplier, adder, and code look-up table. The performance of the model is analyzed and compared with the implementation by a conventional digital signal processor. It is implemented on a FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) and its operation is validated in a timing simulation result.

  • 본 논문은 옥내측위 결과에 지도정합 방법을 적용하는 실험 결과를 소개한다. 사용한 지도정합 방법은 측위 결과로 얻은 측정 궤적에 칼만필터를 적용하여 매끄러운 칼만필터궤적을 얻은 다음, 칼만필터궤적과 이산크레쉐거리가 가장 가까운 보행자 통로로 정합한다. 사용한 지도정합 방법의 효율성을 보이는 실험 결과도 소개한다.

  • The purpose of this paper is an image processing algorithm development as a base research achieving performance enhancement of integrated navigation system. We used the SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform) algorithm for image processing, and developed feature point matching filter for rejecting mismatched points. By applying the proposed algorithm, it is obtained better result than other methods of parameter tuning and KLT based feature point tracking. For further study, integration with INS and algorithm optimization for the real-time implementation are under investigation.

  • 스테레오 정합을 하기 위해서 먼저 두 이미지의 자기를 정규화 하였고, 밝기가 정규화 된 영상을 이용하여 Canny방식으로 Edge를 검출한 후 에지 적응형 스테레오 정합 방식으로 두 영상을 정합하여 변이도 영상들을 얻었다. 그 중 Canny Edge 방식이 다른 Edge 검출 방식보다 선명한 영상을 추출했다. Canny Edge 방식으로 획득한 스테레오영상을 중위수 필터를 사용하여 잡음을 제거한 후, 필터링 전 후의 영상을 PSNR(Peak Signal to Noise Ratio)로 비교하여 본 결과 개선된 영상을 획득 하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 원격 탐사 영상 정합에서 정확도는 유지하면서 특징점 매칭 (Matching) 복잡도를 줄이기 위해 입력 영상을 전처리하는 구조물 검출 네트워크를 이용한 원격 탐사 영상 정합 방법을 제안한다. 영상 정합의 기존 방법은 입력 영상에서 특징점을 추출하고 설명자 (Descriptor)를 생성한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법은 입력 영상에서 특징점 매칭에 영향을 미치는 구조물만 추출하여 새로운 영상을 만들어 특징점을 추출한다. 추출된 특징점은 필터링 (Filtering)을 거쳐 원본 영상에 매핑 (Mapping)되어 설명자를 생성하여 특징점 매칭 속도를 향상시킨다. 또한 구조물 검출 네트워크에서 학습 영상과 시험 영상의 특성의 차이로 생기는 성능 저하 문제를 개선하기 위해 히스토그램 매핑 기법을 이용한다. 아리랑 3 호가 획득한 원격 탐사 영상에 대한 실험을 통해 제안하는 방법은 정확도를 유지하면서 계산 시간을 SURF 보다 87.5%, SIFT 보다 92.6% 감소시킬 수 있다.
