Parameter Analysis of the Damage Area and the Financial Loss by the Gas Release Accident at Pressure Vessels (압력용기에서 가스 누출사고에 의한 피해지역 및재정적 손실의 매개변수 분석)

  • To achieve the safety management of an industry by using practical consequence analysis, parameters affecting damage area and financial loss by gas release accident were analyzed at pressure vessels containing flammable gas. As a result, the total financial loss cost was largely effected by the business interruption cost, and it was considered for equipment type and materials, process properties, and circumstances. Also, the consequences of the financial loss must be practically used more than the consequences of the damage area in industry.

Evaluation of Fracture Toughness of Pressure Vessel Steel Using Charpy Impact Test Specimens (Charpy 충격시편을 이용한 압력용기 재료의 파괴인성 측정)

  • The fracture toughness of SA 533 Grade B Class 1 steel has been studied with the Charpy impact test specimens in a range of temperature between -4$0^{\circ}C$ and 288$^{\circ}C$. The dynamic fracture toughness is measured by the instrumented precracked Charpy impact test while the static fracture toughness is by the 3-point bend test based on the unloading compliance method. The results are compared with the data obtained from the large specimens. It is known through the studies that temperature dependence of the appropriate (a low bound) value of the fracture toughness can be estimated by taking the static fracture toughness above the transition temperature and the dynamic fracture toughness below the temperature and it is also shown that the tests are satisfied with the requirements of ASTM E 813 when the side-groove is more than 14%.

Manufacture of High-temperature High-pressure Vessel for Mixed Gas Performance Test via Optimized Design (최적화 설계를 통한 혼합가스 성능시험용 고온 고압 용기의 제작)

  • In this study, the high-temperature high-pressure vessel was successfully manufactured, which can be used to store pressurized air and to increase the temperature for the mix performance test of high-temperature high-pressure air with coolant (e.g., water). In this research, static structure analysis and transient thermal analysis were performed using the commercial software Midas NFX 2015 R1. Based on the results, the optimized pressure vessel design was carried out. As a result of the optimized design, the minimum stress and minimum weight were found at 120 mm of the vessel thickness, and the optimized pressure vessel was verified. Finally, through manufacture and performance test (e.g., the non-destructive inspection and hydraulic pressure test), the reliability and safety were validated for the designed pressure vessel.

  • 자동차엔진의 연소과정에 상사하는 밀폐정적연소실을 주연소실과 대향 2개 부연소실로 분할하고 오리피스로 연결하였다. 이때 부연소실로부터 주연소실로 분출하는 대향분출염 연소에 의한 질소산화물 배출저감특성을 연소방식, 연소실형상 그리고 연료종류를 변경한 수종의 실험으로 조사하였다. 질소산화물농도, 연소실 최고압력, 화염전파과정의 고속도슐리렌사진 가시화를 수행한 결과, 대향분출염 연소방식을 도입하연 연소실의 중앙부공간이 상대적으로 넓은 경우에 고부하운전과 동시에 질소산화물의 배출량도 저감할 수 있었다. 그러나 연료의 종류는 질소산화물생성에 매우 영향이 적었다.

  • 철도차량용 주행장치인 대차는 차체의 하중을 지지하고, 승객 및 차량의 안전, 주행성능 및 승차감에 지대한 영향을 미치는 핵심 구조부품이다. 주행장치는 크게 대차틀, 차륜 및 차축, 1차 2차 현가장치, 제동장치, 전동기 및 동력전달장치 등으로 구성되며, 대차틀은 형상이 복잡하고 하중을 직접 지지할 뿐만 아니라 하중조건도 정적 및 동적하중이 복합적으로 작용하고 있다. 대차틀은 차체 자중 및 승객 하중에 의한 정하중과 곡선주행, 제동시 발생하는 하중 및 불규칙한 선로와 차체, 주행장치, 윤축의 운동모드에 의한 동하중을 받고 있다.(중략)

  • As an alternative fuel producing less exhaust emissions, natural gas is of interest for use both in SI and CI engines. The potential of natural gas fuelled dual-fuel engine is considered high enough. However, much effort has to be made so that gaseous fuel is used efficiently with simultaneous minimum use of pilot oil. Hence, a simplified three-dimensional model, using a finite volume method in cylindrical coordinates, has been developed to facilitate an understanding of the dual-fuel combustion phenomena and to predict the complex interactions between the pilot distillate and natural gas. The computer model was calibrated by comparing it with the experimental results obtained from diesel engine like combustion bomb tests. In the pre-mixed natural gas combustion, the fuel burning was highly reliant on the injection condition and subsequent burning nature of the pilot distillate.

  • The direct-injection stratified-charge engine has the advantages of higher thermal efficiency and less CO and $NO_x$ emission levels than conventional spark ignition engines. However, its actual utilization is prevented by high unburned hydrocarbon emission levels during light-load operations. In this paper, fundamental studies were carried out using a pancake type constant volume bomb. The effects of intensification of local premixing by tangential and radial fuel injection were examined experimentally. Unburned hydrocarbon emission levels with radial fuel injection were shown to be lower than those of tangential fuel injection cases. The stratification and mixing process of fuel jet and combustion process were observed by schlieren photography.

  • This paper presents the results of a structural analysis to determine design variables such as the inner basket array type, and thicknesses of the outer shell and the lid and bottom of a spent nuclear fuel disposal canister. The canister construction type introduced here is a solid structure with a cast iron insert and a corrosion resistant overpack, which is designed for the spent nuclear fuel disposal in a deep repository in the crystalline bedrock, entailing an evenly distributed load of hydrostatic pressure from the groundwater and large swelling pressure from the bentonite buffer. Hence, the canister must be designed to withstand these large pressure loads. Many design variables may affect the structural strength of the canister. In this study, among those variables, the array type of inner baskets and thicknesses of outer shell and lid and bottom are attempted to be determined through a linear static structural analysis. Canister types studied here are one for the pressurized water reactor (PWR) fuel and another for the Canadian deuterium and uranium reactor (CANDU) fuel.

영광3,4호기 가압기 밀림관의 파단전 누설 설계(LBB) 타당성

  • 본 보고서는 영광 3,4호기 가압기 밀림관(Surge Line)에 대한 파단전누설(Leak Before Break) 개념의 적용방법, 해석절차 및 해석결과에 대하여 기술하고 있다. 영광 3,4호기 가압기 밀림관에 대한 파단전누설해석은 배관계에 대한 정적, 동적 배관해석 결과를 토대로 큰 응력 값이 작용하는 부분에 대하여 수행하였다. 가상균열의 크기는 정상운전상태에서의 하중을 이용하여 결정하였으며 격납용기에 설치된 누설감지장치의 감지능력을 1.0gpm으로 가정하였다. 영광 3,4호기 가압기 밀림관에 대한 파단전 누설해석은 NUREG 1061,Vol.3 및 SRP3.6.3에 근거하여 수행하였으며 해석결과는 동 자료에서 제시하고 있는 적용기준을 만족하고 있는 것으로 평가되었다.

Exact Static Element Stiffness Matrix of Nonsymmetric Thin-walled Elastic Curved Beams (비대칭 박벽 탄성 곡선보의 엄밀한 정적 요소강도행렬)

  • In order to perform the spatial buckling analysis of the curved beam element with nonsymmetric thin-walled cross section, exact static stiffness matrices are evaluated using equilibrium equations and force-deformation relations. Contrary to evaluation procedures of dynamic stiffness matrices, 14 displacement parameters are introduced when transforming the four order simultaneous differential equations to the first order differential equations and 2 displacement parameters among these displacements are integrated in advance. Thus non-homogeneous simultaneous differential equations are obtained with respect to the remaining 8 displacement parameters. For general solution of these equations, the method of undetermined parameters is applied and a generalized linear eigenvalue problem and a system of linear algebraic equations with complex matrices are solved with respect to 12 displacement parameters. Resultantly displacement functions are exactly derived and exact static stiffness matrices are determined using member force-displacement relations. The buckling loads are evaluated and compared with analytic solutions or results by ABAQUS's shell element.
