Geotechnical Characteristics of Crude Oil-Contaminated Sandy Ground (원유로 오염된 지반의 역학적 특성)

  • In this paper, the effects of crude oil contamination on the geotechnical properties of sand such as compaction characteristics, shear strength, permeability, and bearing capacity are presented. The test results indicate that the compaction characteristics are somewhat influenced by oil contamination. The angle of internal friction of sand based on total stress analysis decreases due to the presence of oil within the pore spaces in Band. The bearing capacity of sand is significantly influenced by oil contamination.

  • Aggregate thermal properties and cooling methods are most important to evaluate the residual mechanical properties of concrete. In this study, we evaluate the residual mechanical properties of concrete according to the aggregate type and cooling method. We use the normal weight aggregate and light weight aggregate which have different thermal properties. After heating to the target temperature, we evaluate the mechanical properties according to the slow and fast cooling condition. As a result, normal weight aggregate concrete has higher effectiveness of cooling conditions than light weight aggregate concrete.

  • The present study investigated the microcirculation of blood in the left common artery (LCCA). In order to develop a mathematical model for microcirculation in LCCA, the present study adopted preexisted set of measured morphological data on anatomy, mechanical properties of the coronary vessels, viscosity of blood, the basic laws of physics, and the appropriate boundary conditions. In this study, the statistical distribution of blood pressure, blood flow, and blood volume in the LCCA were determined based on the anatomical branching pattern of the coronary arterial tree and the statistical data of blood vessel dimensions. Our calculations were in good agreement with the previous studies. The present results showed that the mean longitudinal pressure drop profile was function of the vessel order numbers. It was found that the normalized pressure drop was a logarithmic function of the compliance.

  • Three dimensional flow fields around passenger car body was computed by PAM-FLOW, well-known and validated computer program for thermal and fluid analysis. Regarding the computational method, a Navier-Stokes solver based on finite element method with various turbulent models and adaptive grid technique (H-refinement)was adopted. The results were physically reasonable and compared with experimental data, giving good agreement. It was found that three dimensional flow simulation with H-refinement technique had potential for prediction of low fie이 around vehicle and the ability to predict vortex in the wake, which is vital for CFD to be used for automobile aerodynamic calculation.

  • Ultra high-strength concrete can prevent spalling by mixed ratio of PP and NY fiber. However, there is a lack of research on the deterioration of strength due to changes in mechanical properties after spalling prevention. In this study, the effect of high temperature on the mechanical properties of 150MPa concrete mixed with PP and NY fiber was evaluated. As a result, mixing PP and NY fiber is judge to be little effect on the mechanical properties of the 150MPa concrete at high temperature.

  • In case of concrete, it should be deformed by many factors, such as explosive spalling, thermal strain and creep at high temperature. Structural fire design has been proposed to predict fire damage as national standard. It is general safer to use values obtained from tests of unstressed residual test in stead of stressed test. But most of thermal properties on concrete were conducted with normal aggregate. In this study, it evaluated mechanical properties of concrete with aggregate type and loading condition. we use normal and light aggregate to have different thermal properties. Also, we test mechanical properties to use Ø100×200 mm cylinder specimen according to target temperature and 0%, 20%, 40% loading.

  • 본 연구에서는 WES의 표준 월류형 여수로에 대한 동수역학적인 흐름거동을 FLOW-3D 모형을 이용하여 해석하였다. 월류수두에 따른 월류유량, 월류흐름의 수면곡선, 여수로 표면에서의 압력분포와 같은 모의결과는 WES의 실험자료와 잘 일치하였다. 그리고 월류수두가 여수로 설계수두의 1.33배인 경우의 유속과 압력의 연직분포를 검토하였다. 검토결과, 웨어마루를 통과하면서 저층의 유속이 먼저 가속되며 점차 하류로 이동하면서 수표면의 유속이 가속되어 거의 균일한 유속분포를 보였으며, 압력의 연직분포는 웨어마루 상류에서는 수표면에서 내기압을 보이고 점차 수심이 길어짐에 따라 정수압분포와 유사한 분포를 보이나, 여수로 표면에 접근함에 따라 급격하게 압력이 감소하면서 부압이 발생하였다. 웨어마루 하류에서는 여수로 표면에서의 압력이 점차 대기압으로 접근함에 따라, 거의 전 수심에 걸쳐 대기압과 유사한 분포를 보였다.

  • 활주로에서 발생하는 측풍이나 돌풍 등은 항공기의 이 착륙 안정성에 큰 영향을 미친다. 일반적으로 활주로를 건설 할 때 측풍에 대하여 많은 고려를 하지만, 이는 단순히 건설지형 주변에서 발생되는 기상 현상에 대한 데이터를 사용할 뿐 활주로가 완성된 이후에는 활주로 주변 지형 및 환경이 변하게 되어 활주로 건설 초기에 측정된 풍향이나 풍속이 크게 변할 수 있다. 따라서 측풍이 불어올 때, 활주로 주변 시설물에 의한 유동변화가 항공기의 이 착륙 비행 안정성에 미치는 영향이 고려되어야 하다. 본 연구에서는 3차원 형상의 활주로와 주변 시설물을 2차원으로 가정하여 활주로 주위 유동해석을 전산유체역학을 통해 계산하고, 유동변화가 이 착륙하는 비행기에 미치는 영향을 알아본다.

Mechanical properties of ductile fiber-reinforced mortar designed based on micromechanics (마이크로역학에 의하여 제조된 고인성 섬유복합 모르타르의 역학적 특성)

  • The objective of this study is to examine mechanical properties of ductile fiber-reinforced mortar designed based on micromechanics. This mortar was produced by employing raw materials commercially available in Korea. To verify property level of this material in uniaxial tension, a series of direct tensile tests were performed with varying water cement ratio. In addition to this, flexural tests as well as compressive tests were carried out. Experiments revealed that the fiber reinforced mortar exhibited high ductility represented by strain hardening behavior in uniaxial tension. Significant enhancements of ductility, in terms of strain at peak stress and post-peak behavior, were also observed during the tests in compression and in bending.

  • This paper describes the flow visualization around the model of a commercial passenger airplane, Boeing 747-400, which cruises in the transonic speed. The geometry was realized through the reverse engineering based on the photogrammetry. The three-dimensional inviscid steady compressible governing equations are solved in the unstructured grid system under the cruise condition and in a finite volume method. The convective term is processed by the Crank-Nicholson scheme and first order upwind scheme is applied. The lift and drag forces in the wing with engines increase by 1.49% End 3.9%, respectively compared with the wing without engines.
