This study was conducted to identify the effect on the weight control of the REBT group program as a nursing intervention. For this purpose, non-equivalent control group design with pretest and posttest and follow-up test as quasi-experiment was used. Subjects of the study were consisted of twenty-four obese girls (Experimental group: 10, control group: 14) who appeared to having above 20% of the body mass index from ane high school in M city. The whole program was carried out from January to June, 2000. Used dependent variables for evaluating the effect of the REBT group program including were weight control belief(rational thinking, emotion about exercise, eating self-efficacy, eating behavior), body mass index and serum lipids(total cholesterol, triglyceride, low-density lipoprotein, high-density lipoprotein). For evaluating the effect of the program, dependent variables was analyzed by experimental stages three times; the first week, the fourth week, and the eighth week since the experimental input began. Data were analyzed by the SAS PC+ program with t-test, repeated measure ANOVA to determine the effect of program. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; 1. After the REBT group program, only eating self-efficacy among the weight control belief of experimental group was significantly increased than that of control group. 2. After the REBT group program, body mass index of experiment group was significantly decreased than that of control group. 3. After the REBT group program, triglyceride and low density lipoprotein among the serum lipids in the experiment group were significantly decreased than those of control group.
This study aimed to investigate the effects of positive psychological capital on college life adaptation in freshmen of dental hygiene department of universities in Daegu, Busan and Ulsan. The major variables including hope, resilience, optimism, self-efficacy, academic adaptation, social adaptation, personal emotional adaptation, and university environment adaptation all showed significant positive correlations. Among the influential factors of positive psychological capital on college life adaptation, academic adaptation and social adaptation showed significant differences in optimism(p<.001) and self-efficacy(p<.001), while personal emotional adaptation and university environment adaptation showed significant differences in optimism(p<.001). Therefore, it is necessary to develop intervention programs that can improve positive psychological capital and apply them systematically to the educational field.
This purpose of this study was to survey pregnancy stress, self-esteem and depression in pregnant women and to identify factors influencing depression. Data were collected 154 pregnant women. Data were analyzed using ANOVA, t-test, Scheffe's test, Stepwise Regression Analysis, Pearson's correlation coefficient. There was statistically significant difference in pregnancy stress on variable such as planned pregnancy. There were statistically significant difference in self-esteem on variables such as religion, occupation, gestational age. There was statistically significant difference in depression on variables such as planned pregnancy. Pregnancy stress was positively correlated with depression. depression was negatively correlated with self-esteem. Self-esteem was negatively correlated with pregnancy stress. Factor influencing depression were self-esteem, planned pregnancy, pregnancy stress, which explained 30.2%. Findings provide useful information for further studies in antenatal care of pregnant women. Therefore, to promote emotional support of pregnant women, it is necessary to standardized antenatal education program.
This study aimed to identify and analyze the attributes of FoMO, and to provide basic data for the intervention of FoMO in cancer patients. In order to confirm conceptual attributes, antecedents, and consequences by applying the conceptual analysis method of Walker & Avant (2010), 82 previous studies published from 2004 to 2021 were analyzed. The conceptual attributes were relative deprivation, social exclusion, lack of sense of belonging, lack of interaction with others, negative emotions, and the antecedents were a sense of alienation when you miss the flow or when excluded from activities and the desire to connect with others. The consequences of this were increased emotional distress, triggering negative emotions such as depression and anxiety, and decreased life satisfaction and self-esteem. The attributes of these FoMO were also confirmed in cancer patients. Based on this, it is necessary to develop an effective intervention program to improve FoMO in cancer patients.
The purpose of this study is to contribute to evidence-based nursing care for patients with chronic conditions by understanding the attributes of the health motivation concept for their health-related behaviors. Fourteen academic journals and research papers on the health-related motivation of chronically ill patients were selected according to the conceptual analysis stages of Walker and Avant, and the concept was analyzed through additional literature review. The following three factors were extracted as the attributes of health motivation of chronically ill patients: first, psychological needs for healthy behavior; second, the multidimensional state considering personal characteristics; and third, emotional strengths that can change and induce behavioral changes. Given the antecedents, attributes, and outcomes analyzed in this study, it is anticipated that the evidence-based systematic management of chronically ill patients will be possible through the application of a nursing intervention program that increases health motivation

This study was conducted to identify the effects of ego resilience, interpersonal relationships, and cognitive emotion regulation strategies on adaptation to college life by nursing students and provide data to increase adaptation based on the results. This research was based on 304 nursing students in B and Y city. Data were collected from May 8 to May 13, 2017 and analyzed by ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using SPSS/WIN 22.0. The average college life adaptation value was $3.21{\pm}0.53$. There were positive correlations between college life adaptation and ego resilience (r=0.443, p<0.001), interpersonal relationships (r=0.400, p<0.001) and cognitive emotion regulation strategies (r=0.465, p<0.001). Regression analysis revealed that 46.2% of the variance in college life adaptation by nursing students could be explained by grade, major satisfaction, ego resilience, and cognitive emotion regulation strategies. Additional studies to determine the various factors affecting adaptation of nursing students to college life and to increase college life adaptation should be conducted.

This descriptive investigation aims to identify a relationship between QOL, depression, and anxiety in hemodialysis patients. I conducted this research on 130 subjects aged 19 or above who have received dialysis for at least one month in the hemodialysis unit at N hospital in the city of S. However, it came to 112 as I took out those who either quit, died, or filled out a questionnaire in the incorrect manner. In regards to average points of QOL on a 100-point scale, it is 57.77, demonstrating quite low QOL. Concerning average points of depression and anxiety, it is 12.25 and 10.52, respectively, showing quite a high figure. With regard to a correlation, there is a significant correlation between the three factors in hemodialysis patients: there is a negative correlation between QOL and depression (r=-.782, p<.001); a negative correlation between QOL and anxiety (r=-.719, p<.001); and a positive correlation between depression and anxiety (r=.873, p<.001). The outcome of multiple regression analysis on factors affecting QOL shows that depression is the element influencing QOL (β=-.585). Therefore, this study is significant in providing basic data for establishing intervention strategies aiming to reduce levels of depression which has the strongest impact on QOL in the patients and for developing a nursing intervention program intending to improve their QOL.
This study was conducted to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of Multifactorial Fall Prevention Program (MFPP) for local low-income elderly people on physical·psychological, and home environmental hazards, and falling frequency. The selected elderly people was provided the MFPP during an eight-week period of time, once a week, 70 to 90 minutes per each section. The design of this study was non-equivalent control-group with repeated measuring by quasi-experimental study. Data were collected before treatment, 8 week after treatment and 4 week after retention from July to October, 2010. Data were analyzed with numbers, percentage, Fisher's exact test, x2-test, repeated measures ANOVA, ANCOVA and Logistic regression. There were significant differences in fall frequency, balance, fear of falling, fall efficacy, home environmental hazards between the experimental group (EG) and control group (CG). This study showed that the multifactorial fall prevention program(MFPP) was useful nursing intervention for strengthening physical·psychological and environmental functions of the low-income elderly people, as well as preventing fall.
