This study examined the effect of leisure experience on emotional exhaustion. Also, we attempted to find out whether psychological detachment from work has mediating effects on the relationship between leisure experience and emotional exhaustion. Data were collected from 215 workers employed in a variety of organizations. We divided leisure experience into perceived competence, social relation, nature relation, and control nature based on factor analysis. Results indicate that only perceived competence was negatively associated with emotional exhaustion. Further, psychological detachment partially mediated this relation. This result presented that perceived competence is most important factor in leisure experience for psychological recovery.

Due to the nature of the Korean language, it is able to be changed or reversed owns meanings as desinence. But it might be possible to extract a dominant emotion in a text has a small quantity like a fiction or an essay. A process to extract a dominant emotion in a literature is as follows. At first, extract morphemes in a whole text. And dispart words having emotional meaning as matching emotion terms database. Map disported terms to a affective circumplex model and matching it with basic emotion. Finally, analyze dominant emotion according to matched basic emotion. And we adjust our methodology to two literature; modem fiction 'A lucky day' by Jingeon, Hyun and essay 'An old man who shave a bat' by Woyoung, Yun. As a result, it was possible to grasp flows of dominant emotion.

  • The subjects of this investigation were 393 fourth and fifth graders from two elementary schools in Seoul and parents of these children. The level of fathers' emotional separation from the family of origin was higher than that of mothers'. Mothers were more warm acceptant and rejective restrictive than fathers; fathers were more permissive neglectful than mothers. Both fathers and mothers were more rejective restrictive of girls than of boys. Mothers with high scores in emotional separation from family of origin were more warm acceptant to their children and less rejective restrictive than those with low scores. Fathers with high scores in emotional cut off from the family of origin were more permissive neglectful behavior of their children than fathers with low scores.

  • We aimed to verify the mediating effect of depression on the relationship between burnout and flourishing, and the moderated mediating effect of psychological detachment on the mediating relationship. An online survey was conducted with 300 workers, and the results are as follows. First, significant correlations are found among burnout, depression, flourishing, and psychological detachment. Second, the mediating effect of depression on the relationship between burnout and flourishing was verified. Third, the moderated mediating effect of psychological detachment on the mediating relationship verified. Considering the successive effects of burnout on depression and the loss of flourishing, the necessity of efficient management of burnout became evident. Moreover, the moderating role of psychological detachment implies that the effect of burnout can be reduced to some extent through individual and/or organizational efforts for psychological detachment. It seems necessary to verify the moderating effect in more detail through experimental research in the future.

  • Nowadays, organizations have adopted Smart Work to efficiently manage tasks, such as electronic document approval, customer management, and site inspection, without spatial-temporal constraints. Smartphones, which are commonly used in Smart Work, enable individuals to perform their jobs anytime and anywhere, thus blurring the boundary between work and non-work. To solve the problem of blurred work/non-work boundaries, a construct of self-control and affective factors needs to be considered because business style is changed from command to autonomy in the Smart Work context. Moreover, employees can convey their emotions easily over smartphones. Recent marketing studies have analyzed consumers' behavior based on the combination of cognitive, affective, and behavioral components, and researchers of information systems are also interested in these factors. However, previous research has some limitations, such as not classifying factors into cognitive, affective, and behavioral as well as not covering all three factors. Therefore, we explore the roles of cognitive, affective, and behavioral components in emotional exhaustion and education performance, and conduct a survey on undergraduate and graduate students, who are the major users of smartphones. Findings show that when individuals improve their cognitive capability (self-control) and usage experience (smartphone communication and internet usage), they can decrease emotional exhaustion and increase education performance. In the role of affective capability, increasing education performance is partially accepted. These results imply that organizations should not focus on controlling the usage of smartphones but on promoting appropriate smartphone usage.

  • This study investigated the relationship between emotional contagion and altruistic behaviors and also examined the moderating effect of self-construals(independent and interdependent self) in this relationship. It was hypothesized that the emotional expression of people in need would be caught by others through automatic mimicry, that emotional information would be internalized through the facial-feedback process and that the transferred emotion would eventually result in a motive to call for altruistic behaviors. In Study 1, participants watched a video clip about a disabled student reporting difficulties in school life but showing facial expression opposite to the contents of message to separate emotional contagion and empathy. Participants' decision to participate in voluntary works for the disabled student was measured. As a result, it was found that the more participants experienced emotional contagion, the more they participated in altruistic behaviors. Study 2 measured the vulnerability to emotional contagion, actual experiences of altruistic behaviors, and self-construals. The results of hierarchical regression showed that interdependent self moderated the influence of emotional contagion on altruistic behaviors whereas independent self moderated the relationship in an opposite direction. The implications of emotion and altruistic behaviors in human evolution process are discussed.

  • Attention and emotion interact intimately. Anxiety, for example, modifies attentional mechanisms to enhance the processing of threat-related information. But how can it modulate attention? Studies of the emotional Stroop task showed clearly that color naming was interfered with more by negative word distractors than by neutral distractors in anxious participants. However, few studies have investigated in what stage an emotional stimulus biases attention. The present study investigated the locus of interference in the emotional Stroop task by manipulating the SOA (Stimulus Onset Asynchrony) between the word distractor and the color target (0ms, 120ms, or 240ms). Results showed that interference occurred only with 0ms of SOA for anxious participants, whereas for non-anxious participants, there was no interference effect. These results support the view that the attentional mechanism was modulated in early stage of information processing by anxiety.
