The Effect of Myungsimbogam Lessons on Information and Communication Ethics (정보통신윤리의식에 대한 명심보감 학습의 효과)

  • Information-oriented society caused by development of computer and communication has benefited us with a convenient life. However, its side effects are widespread, which increases the need of the education of information and communication ethics. In this study, we take an approach of virtue education to cultivate information and communication ethics, as virtue is required to make a desirable information-oriented society. Lessons of Myungsimbogam were administered to the 6th grade elementary school students for nine weeks. The results demonstrated positive effects in internet addiction, chat addiction, and netiquette for the experimental group. However, no positive effects in game addiction were found.

  • As the social and technical circumstance changes rapidly, passive learners who were knowledge-finders not only remember and regenerate about the given information but also critically grasp the phenomena of real life, and then also it became necessary for us to help cultivate the ability to solve the problem creatively in the new form of educational goal, educational content, educational methods and evaluation, educational environment. As a result, this study analyzes the smart learning education, fit the model of smart learning education training in high school information ethics parts, design the lesson that is proposal class of 'Information protection and Security' section, and develop the teaching and experience educational contents, furthermore, It is to investigate the impact on the ethics consciousness about information communications.

  • 청소년의 인터넷 사용횟수가 급속히 증가하면서 그에 따른 역기능이 사회문제가 되는 시점에서, 학생들이 자신의 컴퓨터 활용 실태를 스스로 검토해 볼 수 있으며, 문제점이 있는 활용실태에 대한 현실감 있는 해결방법을 스스로 찾아볼 수 있는 기회와 환경을 제공하는 것이 필요하다. 청소년의 컴퓨터 활용과 관련한 역기능의 문제를 청소년 본인이 가장 정확하게 파악하고 있으며, 토론활동을 통하여 가장 효율적인 해결방안을 제시할 수 있는 대상도 청소년이다. 따라서 정보통신윤리 의식의 함양을 목적으로 학교 수업 시간에 적용이 가능한 웹 사이트 형태의 네티켓 코스웨어를 개발하여 적용하고자 한다.

Factors in Information and Communication Ethics Behavior of College Students Majoring in Information and Communication Engineering (정보통신공학 전공 대학생의 정보통신윤리 행동과 관련 변수)

  • This paper was designed to identify influencing factors and to develop indices for measuring information and communication technology related ethics behaviors of college students majoring in information and communication engineering. Data collected from 288 students surveyed in Busan and Kyungnam area were used and the average of information and communication engineering ethics were below the mid-points meaning 'fairly ethical'. 'Passively violating behavior' showed the highest value (2.77 out of 5) while 'rudeness and insulting behavior' showed the lowest (1.65 out of 5). Second, variables of gender, age, religion, idealism, and relativism were revealed to be meaningful ones. Results can help educators understand the influencing factors in information and communication technology related ethics behaviors of college students as well as develop topics in educating engineering ethics.

  • 정보화 사회에서의 일원으로 꼭 갖추어야 할 정보통신윤리 덕목들은 기존 산업화 사회에서의 교수-학습방법으로는 부적절하다. 덕 교육 (Virtues Education)은 행위자가 교육의 중심이 되어, 인지 정의 행동의 통합과 공동체주의를 중요시 여겨 학습자 스스로 윤리를 체득하도록 하는 장점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 덕 교육의 장점을 기반으로 학습자가 보다 재미있고 쉬운 학습을 통해 정보통신윤리의 능동적이고 자연스러운 체득이 가능하도록 게임 모형을 개발하였다. 본 게임 모형은 문제 사태를 확인하고, 그에 관련된 규범을 찾고, 규범의 의미와 근거를 찾은 후, 판단을 예측하고, 판단하여 미션을 해결하는 모형이다. 본 모형의 장점 (특징)은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학습자가 쉽고 재미있게 정보통신윤리 학습을 할 수 있다. 둘째, 게임을 진행하며 윤리의식을 교사가 전달하는 것이 아닌, 학습자 스스로 체득하게 할 수 있다. 셋째, 정보화 사회의 구성원으로서 알맞은 가치관을 확립하여, 정보화 사회의 역기능에 대해 올바르게 판단하고 실천할 수 있다.

  • The internet which is fast spread over all areas of our lives provides us with benefits of efficiency, productivity, and amusement; however, its features as an anonymous and non-face-to-face medium have raised a serious social issue of the collapse of internet ethics due to the abuse of it. Thereupon, the importance of internet ethics education has been highlighted to prevent side effects resulted from the internet and cultivate human-centered internet culture. In this paper, we suggests desirable methods for internet ethics education based on the investigation and analysis of the status of university freshmen's internet ethics. This research conducted a survey and analyzed its result after categorizing the status of internet ethics into the invasion of private information, invasion of intellectual property rights, harmful information, internet communication culture, cyber violence, internet addiction, and internet fraud. And based on the result of analyzing their internet ethics, this paper suggests desirable methods for internet ethics education. Next, internet ethics education was conducted by applying the proposed methods for internet ethics education, and its educational effect was evaluated. According to the result of verifying the educational effect measured statistically, it has proved that the suggested internet ethics education is effective to improve undergraduates' internet ethics.

  • In today's era, where internet technology and culture are advancing rapidly, the importance of systematic internet ethics education has been underscored to address the insufficient levels of internet ethics among college students. This research primarily focused on assessing the level of internet ethics among college students, who represent a significant proportion of internet users. The innovative Flip Learning teaching method and the introduction of the Wheeler Model, along with the application of frequency measurement theory, allowed us to explore ways to maximize the effectiveness of the education. It was confirmed that students who received internet ethics education demonstrated improved levels of ethics. This study concluded that significant progress has been made in systematizing and effectively promoting internet ethics education. It also proposed the need for systematic ethics education and provided future directions for improving internet ethics education.

  • Rapidly increasing Internet use has brought beneficial developments in many aspects, and it also stimulates elementary students' curiosity and is becoming an important part of entertainment. On the other hand, it is giving rise to some negative results such as violence and delinquent conduct in cyberspace. This study is to find the effects and problems of Information and Communication Ethics education before and after it is carried out by analysing the curriculum of Information texbooks, and to search for new teaching methods for Information and Communication Ethics education.

  • To prevent problems such as portrait rights, copyright, and cyber violence, an ethics education STEAM projects using deepfake apps using AI technology were developed and applied. The Deepfake apps were screened, and the contents of the elementary school curriculum were reconstructed. The STEAM project as creative experiential activities was mainly operated by the UCC activities, and applied the info-ethics awareness measurement test based on the planned behavior theory. The social STEAM project as money (financial) education was qualitatively analyzed. It was found that this STEAM classes using AI technology app significantly enhances the ethical awareness of information communication.
