This study investigated how people perceived the importance of health message design principles including gist presentation, usefulness of content, format, and intuitive design and how well a webzine article published by Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety was designed in terms of the four design principles. This study also explored what individual characteristics influenced the perceptions of health message design principles. A total of 294 adults participated in the survey, and their responses were analyzed with the Importance-Performance Analysis method. Participants perceived that usefulness of content was most important in the text design; gist presentation was most important in the visual design; and format was well designed in both text and visual messages. This study showed that it is crucial to improve the quality of visual health messages particularly in terms of gist presentation and intuitive design. We also found that individuals' interest in health played a significant role in the perceptions of health messages. These results were discussed in regards to principles and strategies for the effective design of health messages.

최근 모바일 기기의 저장장치 용량이 늘어나면서 사용자는 대량의 사진을 휴대하고 다닌다. 하지만 현재 대량의 사진을 한정적 크기의 화면에 효과적으로 보여줄 수 있는 인터페이스가 부족하다. 모바일 기기에서 사용자 입장에서 편의성을 제공하는 사진 브라우징을 위해서는 직관적인 탐색 방법과 탐색시간을 단축시키는 방법이 필요하다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 모바일 기기에 저장된 사진들에 대해 이벤트 별사진을 자동 분류하며 이벤트 내의 객체 인식을 통해 이벤트에 자주 나오는 객체 정보들을 제공하여 직관적인 브라우징이 가능하도록 하는 방법들을 제안한다. 제안한 방법으로는 이벤트 기반의 브라우징과 객체 기반의 브라우징 방법이 있다. 이벤트 기반의 브라우징을 위해서 시간과 위치정보를 이용하여 이벤트를 군집화하고 통계적 자료에 근거한 이벤트 자동 경계 검출 방법을 사용했다. 또한 객체 기반의 브라우징을 위해서 객체 인식을 통해 사진들을 객체별로 분류하는 방법을 사용하였다. 사진내에서 객체의 인식을 위해 BoW(Bag of Word)를 사용하였으며 인식율을 높이기 위해 TF-IDF를 적용한 방법을 제안하였다. 본 방법은 기존의 방식에 비해 객체 인식률이 더 높음을 확인했다.

In this paper, we propose a similarity search algorithm for image databases. One of the central problems regarding content-based image retrieval (CBIR) is the semantic gap between the low-level features computed automatically from images and the human interpretation of image content. Many search algorithms used in CBIR have used the Minkowski metric (or $L_p$-norm) to measure similarity between image pairs. However those functions cannot adequately capture the aspects of the characteristics of the human visual system as well as the nonlinear relationships in contextual information. Our new search algorithm tackles this problem by employing new similarity measures and ranking strategies that reflect the nonlinearity of human perception and contextual information. Our search algorithm yields superior experimental results on a real handwritten digit image database and demonstrates its effectiveness.

This study intends to design the bibliographic framework based on IFLA-FRBR model for television program materials and to evaluate this in terms of effectiveness of retrieval and usability of the system. The FRBR model supplies mote suitable bibliographic framework of audio-visual material which has a sufficient hierarchical relations and relative bibliographical records. The followings are research methods designed by this study; (1) The experimental metadata system named it FbCS based on FRBR was developed by using the entity-related database and composed of multi-layed and hierarchy. FbCS is developed through benchmarking of a case study for iMMix model in Netherlands based on FRBR. (2) To evaluate effectiveness of retrieval and usability of FbCS, this study made a experiment and survey by user groups of professionals.

웹을 기반으로 하는 e-러닝에 대한 교육적 수요는 증가하고 있다. 이와 동시에, 학습 공간으로서의 사이버 공간의 활용에 대한 고민도 증가하였다. 전통적인 학습활동을 사이버 공간에 복제하려 했던 고전적 방식이 e-러닝 또는 사이버 학습이 아니라는 사실을 확인하기 시작했기 때문이다. e-러닝의 가치가 강조됨에도 불구하고, 실제 사이버 공간에서 일어나는 학습자의 특성과 학습활동이 구체적으로 어떻게 일어나는 지에 대한 탐색은 미흡하다. 산재한 정보를 스스로 가공한 지식, '학습하는 방법을 학습'하는 것이라는 개념들이 제시됨에도 불구하고, 사이버 공간에 산재한 정보, 학습하는 방법의 학습, 그리고 사이버 공간의 학습특성에 대한 논란은 여전하다. 본 연구에서는 실제 사이버 학습 사이트를 이용하고 있는 학습자들의 행동을 중심으로, 학습자의 특성을 탐색하였다. 사이버 공간에서 보이는 스스로 학습하는 방법이 무엇인지 확인하고 이것이 다양한 학습자 유형으로 구분되는 지를 확인하고자 하였다. 연구대상이 된 사이버 학습 사이트는 서울, 부산, 대구, 광주 교육청에서 운영하는 사이버 가정 학습관이었다. 총 1535명의 사이버 가정 학습관 이용자들의 특성이 분석되었다. 사이버 가정학습관 이용자들의 행동특성은 9개의 요인-놀이 활동, 공동 경험, 현실 정체, 공동 성취, 개인주의, 경쟁 지향, 성취감, 편리성(조작 용이), 생생함-으로 구분되었다. 9개의 활동 요인을 기준으로 하여 확인된 학습자 유형은 4가지로 나타났다. 4가지 학습자 유형은 각각 독야청청형, 동고동락형, 의무방어형, 희희낙낙형으로 명명되었다. 이들 유형은 학습 활동 정도 및 사이트 이용 행동, 학습 스타일(사이버 학습 활동 양식)에서 서로 차이가 있었다. 본 연구는 기존의 이론적인 모델에 기초하여 임의적으로 구분된 사이버 학습자 유형 구분이 아닌, 실제 학습 활동을 탐색하였다는 측면에서 의미가 있다. 특히, 기존의 오프라인 학습 이론 및 학습자 특성 연구를 사이버 학습에 그대로 적용할 것이 아니라 사이버 공간의 특성이 실제 학습 활동에서 어떻게 나타났는지를 밝히려고 했다는데 그 의의가 있다. 향후, 사이버 학습자 유형에 따른, 사이버 학습활동의 촉진방안이나 학습 효과의 차이를 높일 수 있는 구체적인 학습 시스템의 설계 및 운영 모델에 대한 탐색이 필요할 것이다.

Driving aircraft requires extremely complicated and detailed information processing. Pilots perform their tasks by selecting the information relevant to them. In this processing, spatial information presented simultaneously through crossmodal link is advantageous over the one provided in singular sensory mode. In this paper, probability to apply providing visual spatial information along with auditory information to enemy tracking system in aircraft navigation is empirically investigated. The result shows that auditory spatial information, which is virtually created through HRTF is advantageous to visual spatial information alone in attention processing. The findings suggest auditory spatial information along with visual one can be presented through crossmodal link by utilizing stereophonic sound such as HRTF. which is available in the existing simple stereo system.

This study explores the effects of standardized management processes such as COBIT and ITIL on the success of IT outsourcing by utilizing an exploratory case study. The exploratory model includes the maturity of ITIL and COBIT process and success of IT outsourcing. For each construct of the model, several measures are developed from preceding researches and confirmed in the context of the cases utilized for this study. It is found that the maturity of the processes supported by ITIL and COBIT is critical for the success of IT outsourcing in this study. This results confirm the current popularity of the standardized process adopted in practice and also require further research endeavors in this control or management process in the future. It should include any other processes and related activities to the control process in the relationship of IT outsourcing.

We present a modeling of constraint satisfaction problems and provide heuristic algorithms of backtracking search to optimize the frequency assignment. Our research objective is to find a frequency assignment that satisfies all the constraints using minimum number of frequencies while maximizing the number of community radio stations served for a given area. In order to get a effective solution, some ordering heuristics such as variable orderings and value orderings are provided to minimize the backtracking in finding all solutions within a limited time. To complement the late detection of inconsistency in the backtracking, we provide the consistency enforcing technique or constraint propagation to eliminate the values that are inconsistent with some constraints. By integrating backtracking search algorithms with consistency enforcing techniques, it is possible to obtain more powerful and effective algorithms of constraint satisfaction problems. We also provide the performance evaluation of proposed algorithms by comparing the theoretical lower bound and our computed solution.

Innovation is essential for the survival of a company in the fierce competitive environment of the global era of borders along with rapid technological development and changes from the environment. It is very important to secure your own competitive advantage. In this study, the relationship between internal R&D capability and organizational support as a company internal factor and external R&D capability, external knowledge search, and absorptive capability as a company external factor on performance was examined. As a result of the analysis, it was found that internal R&D capability, organizational support, and external knowledge search had a significant effect on absorptive capability, and innovation performance had a positive effect on new product performance. However, the mediating effect of absorptive capacity has not been verified, suggesting that absorptive capacity has a low correlation between innovation performance and new product performance, or that other important factors act between absorptive capacity and performance variables. The results of this study are expected to be utilized as useful guidelines when establishing R&D strategies in companies.

There have been many researches on educational effects and efficient education methods related to Informatics education for computational thinking. However, while the one of the human models specified in the national curriculum focuses on self-directed career development ability, research on Informatics education from the viewpoint of career education is deficient. This study aimed to analyze the effects of Informatics education on science high school students' career development ability and suggest implications. As a result, not the students' career recognition and career search ability, but also career choice and preparation also improved. However, it was analyzed that there is a significant difference according to the gender and the completion of the middle school Informatics education. This study is expected to contribute to the necessity of Informatics education and the direction of Informatics education research from the viewpoint of career education.
