Damage Analysis of the Bridge Structure Caused by Fire Outbreak (화재로 인한 교량구조의 손상 분석)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to accurately analyze the damage of bridges in order to determine whether fire bridges can be used continuously or to provide information on maintenance augmentation data. Method: XRD, SEM and EDS analyzes of concrete were carried out to estimate the fire temperature transferred to the structure, and analyzed by depth and area from PSCI beam and bottom plate concrete surface. Results: Test results G12,11 for the fire zone concrete were confirmed to be affected by heat up to depth of 60mm and the temperature of the hydrothermal heat was above 1000℃. Also, the girder G10,9,8 was relatively weakly damaged compared to G12,11, and the degree of damage was confirmed to be affected by heat up to a depth of 40 mm. Conclusion: Based on the analyzed data, it is considered that if the repair / reinforcement and periodic inspection are carried out, the bridge can secure sufficient safety even considering the damage caused by the fire.

  • The shipping industry has experienced significantly fluctuated while decline in long-term and boom in short-term period due to the continuous recession of the shipping industry since the 2010s and during the recent COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to suggest implications for securing manpower and personnel policy by analyzing the effects of job environmental factors of a liner shipping company on job satisfaction and turnover intention and differences between land and marine workers. For the analysis, the job environmental factors of a liner shipping company were divided into work character, relational factors, personnel characters, and remuneration factors, and then structural equation model and t-test were conducted to test the relationship between job satisfaction and turnover intention. As a result of the study, it was found that job environmental factors, such as work, relationship, personnel, and remuneration, had a positive (+) effect on job satisfaction, and job satisfaction had a negative (-) effect on turnover intention. In a comparative analysis between groups such as land and sea workers, it was found that the maritime workers group had higher job satisfaction and lower turnover intention than the land workers.

Quantitative Deterioration and Maintenance Profiles of Typical Steel Bridges based on Response Surface Method (응답면 기법을 이용한 강교의 열화 및 보수보강 정량화 이력 모델)

  • Performance Profiles are essential to predict the performance variation over time for the bridge management system (BMS) based on risk management. In general, condition profiles based on experts opinion and/or visual inspection records have been used widely because obtaining profiles based on real performance is not easy. However, those condition profiles usually don't give a good consistency to the safety of bridges, causing practical problems for the effective bridge management. The accuracy of performance evaluation is directly related to the accuracy of BMS. The reliability of the evaluation is important to produce the optimal solution for distributing maintenance budget reasonably. However, conventional methods of bridge assessment are not suitable for a more sophisticated decision making procedure. In this study, a method to compute quantitative performance profiles has been proposed to overcome the limitations of those conventional models. In Bridge Management Systems, the main role of performance profiles is to compute and predict the performance of bridges subject to lifetime activities with uncertainty. Therefore, the computation time for obtaining an optimal maintenance scenario is closely related to the efficiency of the performance profile. In this study, the Response Surface Method (RSM) based on independent and important design variables is developed for the rapid computation. Steel box bridges have been investigated because the number of independent design variables can be reduced significantly due to the high dependency between design variables.

  • This paper presents a vision-based real-time traffic surveillance system. Current research in machine vision applied to traffic is due to its potential for more powerful process, its flexibility and its lower cost. Our traffic surveillance system consists of FPA and TSM on the Internet. The FPA provides image data, vehicle speed and vehicle density for the TSM. Traffic parameters, the vehicle speed and density, are extracted over many frames using differences between the sampling points of a background image and those of incoming frames. The FPA works by just processing groups of pixels without any understanding of the image. Although this system has an accuracy limitation, it can be used in applications requiring an approximate vehicle density and vehicle speed in real-time.

  • Despite that Korea has tried 50 years of service development policies, the result has been unsatisfactory. Borrowing the policy stream model of policy change and narrative policy framework one tried to explain the weaknesses of the policy process for the service development policies. Before 2000 lacking knowledge resulted in poor policy narratives while after 2000 despite sufficient knowledge base and well articulated narratives policy window would not open. Adversarial politics under conservative party caused the window to be closed. One suggests that paradigm shift in value and world view treats is necessary to overcome the policy failures in service development policy. According these analyses one expects a new initiative of policy narrative construction.

  • 최근에 개발된 출입문 시스템은 출입자의 신원과 출입시간을 정확하게 기록할 뿐만 아니라 방문자에게 일시적인 출입권한을 동적으로 부여하기도 한다. 이러한 기능은 스마트폰에 NFC 카드 에뮬레이션 기능이 탑재되기 시작하면서 가능해졌다. RFID와 달리 스마트폰에 탑재된 NFC는 출입할 때마다 변경되는 전자키를 전달 할 수 있고 출입키 이외에 여러 가지 정보를 전달할 수도 있다. 이는 매우 강력한 보안기능을 구현할 수 있는 토대가 될 뿐만 아니라 더욱 다양한 기능을 출입문에 부여할 수 있는 기반 기술이 된다. 본 논문에서는 오프라인 단말기와 스마트폰을 이용한 출입시스템을 제안한다. 오프라인 단말기란 출입문에 부착된 NFC 단말기가 오프라인 상태, 즉 외부로 통신이 연결되지 않은 상태에 있는 것을 의미한다. 본 시스템은 출입문 단말기에 출입자의 정보를 등록하지 않고 동적으로 출입자를 추가하거나 삭제할 수 있어 비정기적인 방문자를 위한 출입시스템을 구현하기에 매우 유리하다. 또한, 본 시스템은 오프라인 단말기를 이용하지만 온라인 단말기를 이용한 시스템과 동일한 기능을 구현할 수 있다. 단말기에 통신라인을 연결하지 않음에도 불구하고 기존 온라인 단말기를 이용한 출입 시스템에서 가능했던 출입자 실시간 등록과 출입사항 기록 및 실시간 조회 기능을 모두 구현할 수 있게 된 것이다. 온라인 단말기 기반의 출입 시스템 보다 유지보수가 쉽고 저렴한 출입시스템을 구현할 수 있다는 것은 본 논문에 제안한 방식의 강점이다.

The Genealogy of Rebellious Communication and Twitter A Discourse Analysis of the Park Jung-geun Case ('불온 통신'의 계보와 '트위터' 박정근 사건에 대한 담론 분석을 중심으로)

  • This study starts from the awareness that 'rebellious communication' is still being regulated in various ways even though 'rebellious communication' was declared unconstitutional in a decision by the Constitutional Court in 2002. The meaning of 'rebellious' has been amplified and transformed at various points through the censorship systems established during the Japanese colonial era, the US military period, and the regime of Park Jung-hee. In particular, 'rebellious communication' is regulated to protect 'national security' and 'social customs' from the perspective of power. This study analyzed discourses containing judgement about the Park Jung-geun case and the violation of the National Security Law using retweet accounts or posts related to North Korea. This study explores the genealogy of 'rebellious communication' based on its relationship to the characteristics of Twitter and specific individuals.

Maintenance and Improvement of KMTNet Telescope and Enclosure (외계행성 탐색시스템 광시야 망원경과 돔 인클로져의 유지보수 및 성능개선)

  • KMTNet 광시야 망원경의 성능 개선을 위해 2017년에 이루어진 주요 작업으로 주경 배플(baffle) 설치, 주경 코팅, 돔 플랫(dome flat) 장치 설치에 대해 발표한다. 망원경 주경의 가장자리(turn down edge)는 경면 가공이나 코팅 상태가 균질하지 않을 수 있으며, 이로 인한 난반사는 밝은 별 주위에 넓은 wing profile과 여러 갈래의 방사상 빛줄기를 만든다. 이런 난반사를 제거하기 위해 주경면 바로 앞에 배플을 설치하였다. 주경의 광학 성능과 집광력이 최적이 되도록 배플 내부 직경 값을 1,580 mm로 조정하여 설치한 결과, 관측 영상에서 별의 영상이 크게 개선되었다. 호주 관측소는 상대적으로 습기가 높아서 망원경 주경의 반사율이 빨리 낮아졌으며, 이를 개선하기 위해 기존의 코팅(protected silver)을 제거하고 알루미늄으로 새로 코팅하였다. KMTNet 3개 관측소는 주경의 반사율과 코팅 면의 확대 영상을 정기적으로 모니터링하여 광학 성능의 변화를 추적하고 있다. 밤하늘 플랫(twilight sky flat) 영상을 보완하기 위해, 돔 인클로져에 플랫 스크린과 광원을 설치하여 돔 플랫 영상을 획득하였다. 마지막으로 KMNet 관측시스템을 운영하며 발생한 돔 회전 및 돔 셔터 구동부 문제 등에 대해 소개하고, 문제 발생 원인과 주기, 문제 해결 방안을 발표한다.

  • In this paper, we propose a real-time remote monitoring system for distributed solar power generation system. The proposed system consists of PVC, UTC, OTC and monitoring server. PVC collects the operational information from the PV's inverter via serial interface. The sensing data is transmitted to the server by wireless communications and stored in the DB server. The PV's status is monitored via UTC, and the operating of PVC and UTC are managed by OTC. In addition, by providing information about the power generated by PV system and failure diagnosis in real time, the proposed system shows the possibility of reducing the maintenance costs and improved failure recovery time.

The Study of the Roughness of the Pavement on the Bridge Deck and Approach Slab using a 5year(2003 to 2007) Pavement Condition Survey Data (HPMS 데이터를 이용한 고속도로 교량 및 뒷채움구간 평탄성 특성 연구)

  • Using a 5 year(2003 to 2007) pavement condition survey data from the highway pavement management system(HPMS), the roughness of the bridge deck pavement was analyzed. Based on the result of this analysis, this study tried to identify the factors affecting the deterioration of the bridge deck pavement condition. The data from HPMS indicates that the roughness of the bridge deck pavement is worse than that of the general pavement on the roadbed. The worse roughness of the bridge deck pavement is caused by the settlement of approach slab as well as the surface distress on the bridge deck pavement. In order to improve effectively the roughness of the bridge deck pavement, a management system was established in which not only the regular automated pavement condition survey to check the distress of surface of the bridge deck pavement was adopted but an automated surface profiler to check the degree of settlement of approach slab was applied.
