This study finds a way to increase the usability of a subway commuter pass. Usability of the commuter pass on a probabilistic statistical model is calculated when the pass is allowed to used in a different mode(bus). A sunk cost of commuter pass is used to reduce the vehicle travels from public transit. 324 people aged 25 to 35 were surveyed and utilized to build a Nested Logit Model on STRADA 3.5 platform. Main results are as follows. First, commuter passes were issued in various forms. Second, the model turns out to be statistically significant in four explanatory variables (discount rate, inter-usablity between modes, forms of payment and periods). Lastly, the more valid on different modes, the more increased of the rail commuter pass.

Transportation planners are increasingly adopting policies aimed at changing travel choices made by general commuter. Theories on the relationship between high-speed technology and transport address changes in travel behavior of regional commuter due to alterations in the Kyung-Bu railroad transportation corridor. The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationships between travel behavior and high-speed technology. The KORAIL data allows us to explore the differences between travel characteristics that are usually hard to discern by guesswork. The effects of travel time were found to be significant in the full decisions that control for commuting KTX. Although many argue that transportation behavior cannot be changed, this paper demonstrates that about 4 years of behavioral data on KTX travel show otherwise. In this paper we explore several possibilities to fill in some of the gaps in our knowledge on the expansion of commuter belt.

정기선 시장의 경쟁구도가 급변하고 있다. 최근 시황 불안과 Maersk의 Daily Service 등장에 따라 글로벌 얼라이언스인 GA와 TNW가 전략적 협력체인 G6를 구축하는 한편, 유럽의 독립선사 CMA CGM+MSC체제, 및 Evergreen+CKYH도 전략적 협력을 강화하고 있다. 이에 따라 과거 독립선사와 얼라이언스 간의 경쟁에서 독립선사 간 협력 및 독립선사와 얼라이언스 협력 체제 등으로 다변화되고 있다. 중위권 선사 중심의 얼라이언스체제도 G6라는 초대형 얼라이언스가 등장하는 등 정기선 시장은 새로운 전기를 맞고 있다. 다음은 한국해양수산개발원 김태일 부연구위원이 발표한 "정기선 시장 경쟁구도 변화 전망"의 주요 내용을 요약정리한 것이다.

신용 카드나 정기권 등 본격적으로 IC카드가 보급되고 있다. 앞으로 단말기 등의 플랫폼이 구축되어 IC카드만 있으면 모든 것을 할 수 있는 서비스가 실행되길 기대해도 좋을 것이다. 한편,RFID는 다양한 애플리케이션이 검토되기 시작하고 있다. RFID의 보급확대를 위해서는 먼저 표준화가 선행되어야 한다.

Current metro tickets are categorized into transportation cards and monthly season tickets, which offer limited consumer choices. A metro fare system should be introduced based on the diversity of customer demand. Thus, this study's objective is that the metro fare system in Korea should be efficiently operated by analyzing a variety of metro fare systems used in major cities of other countries. In addition, this study proposed the following metro fare systems, one day pass, which is generally used in other countries in a bid to promote public transportation, reduce costs, and increase revenue. A commuting ticket system to increase the demand from cars to subways, and special discounts & a round-trip ticket system for round-trip travelers in case that demand is low was compared with the high supply on the Gyeongchun-line.
