When the motor is rotating, the torque and rpm are varying as the loads or the driving status connecting through reduction units are changing. On the contrary, one can monitor the changes of the loads or the driving status in the manner of measuring motor torque and rpm. There is a torque measuring method using the strain gauge and bridge circuit. But, because this is the contact method, it has the life time which is dependent on rotating velocity and used time. So this system demands on replacement of some Parts or whole system itself for maintenance. And this system is also relatively big and expensive, requiring preceding annoying process. In this paper, we are going to suppose non-contact method to measure torque and rpm using the Hall effects sensor For this we have made the planetary geared reduction motor with Hall sensors and with the monitoring system. The monitoring system displays the sensing data(torque, rpm) and calculated data( power) and also has the network capability with Bluetooth protocol. Our solution is much more inexpensive ;md simple method to measure torque and rpm than before.
The purpose of this study was to examine the oral injury experiences of sport players in a bid to raise awareness of the gravity of problems related to oral injuries and the necessity of mouth guards geared toward preventing mental, physical and economic loss triggered by oral injuries. The subjects in this study were 290 sport players. After their oral injury experiences and use of mouth guards were checked, the following findings were given: 28.6 percent had suffered an oral injury. But just 33.8 percent received education about how to cope with an oral injury. 93.4 percent had never used a mouth guard, and only 25.9 percent felt the need for that. And just 28.3 percent had an intention to use it. felt the need for that. And just 28.3 percent had an intention to use it. Concerning the impact of gender, the female players used more mouth guards. The players didn't use mouth guards a lot regardless of oral injury experiences and education about that, and there was no change in the way they looked at mouth guards, either. The findings of the study illustrated that sport players as well as non-players weren't aware of the importance of mouth guards, though sport players were exposed to the danger of an oral injury all the time. Not only players but non-players should learn about the seriousness of an oral injury, and the necessity of oral guards should be stressed to prevent it.

Iodine-131, an artificial radionuclide, mostly exists as iodide ion ($^{131}I^-$) and iodate ion ($^{131}IO_3{^-}$) in the water, and When a short time contacted, it could not be removed by poly aluminum chloride (PACl) and powdered activated carbon (PAC). Although the removal rate of iodine-131 was not related with turbidity of raw water, it showed linear relationship with contact time with PAC. With the mixture of PACl (24 mg/L or more) and PAC (40 mg/L or more), about 40% of iodine-131 could be removed. Iodine-131 could be removed little by sand filtration, but approximately 100% by granular activated carbon (GAC), both virgin-GAC and spent-GAC. Microfiltration process could remove little iodine-131 while reverse osmosis process could remove about 92% of iodine-131.

A laser ultrasonic inspection system is a non-contact inspection device which generates and measures ultrasounds by using laser beams. A laser ultrasonic inspection system provides a high measurement resolution because the ultrasonic signal generated by a pulse laser beam has a wide-band spectrum and the ultrasonic signal is measured from a small focused spot of a measuring laser beam. In this paper, we have investigated the detection techniques of a surface-breaking crack by using the laser ultrasonic surface waves. A crack acts as a low pass filter whose cut-off frequency is lowered in proportion to the depth of a crack. And, the center frequency value of a spectrum is decreased in proportion to the depth of a crack. In this paper, we extracted the crack information by using the frequency attenuation from the normalized transfer function spectrum of a surface-breaking crack. Also, we effectively measured the crack depth by using the decreasing value of the center frequency from a crack passed ultrasonic signal. The proposed measuring techniques of crack depths provided more precise information than the amplitude measuring technique.

Broadband powerline communication (BPLC) uses distribution lines as a medium for achieving effective bidirectional data communication along with electric current flow. As the material characteristics of power lines are not good at the communication channel, the development of power line communication (PLC) systems for internet, voice, and data services requires measurement-based models of the transfer characteristics of the network suitable for performance analysis by simulation. In this paper, an analytic model describing a complex transfer function is presented to obtain the attenuation and path parameters for a multipath power line model. The calculated results demonstrated frequency-selective fading in multipath channels and signal attenuation with frequency, and were in good agreement with the experimental results. Inductive coupling units are used as couplers for coupling the signal to the power line to avoid physical connections to the distribution line. The inductance of the ferrite core, which depends on the frequency, determines the cut-off frequency of the inductive coupler. Coupling loss can be minimized by increasing the number of windings around the coupler. Coupling efficiency was improved by more than 6 dB with three windings compared to the results obtained with one winding.
This study aims to verify for humans the suitability of the enzyme-fixed hydrogel used for the patch sensor of the blood sugar testing system without blood sampling, which utilizes reverse iontophoresis. Using acrylate monomers, hydrogel was synthesized to which a certain unit of enzyme is fixed. In order to analyze the material property of the synthesized hydrogel, a structural analysis was performed using FT-IR spectroscopy, while the DSC was used to verify the thermal stability. In addition, with the UV-Vis spectrophotometer, it was verified that the degree of active enzyme is at least 50% greater than the standard product. The SEM was used to verify secure fixation of the enzyme onto the surface. As a result, it was observed that the enzyme is successfully fixed to the surface. Since the hydrogel makes direct contact with a patient's skin, it is essential to evaluate the toxicity when making direct contact with the skin. For that purpose, various sets of tests were undertaken according to the ISO 10993-cytotoxicity, intracutaneous reactivity, skin irritation test and maximization sensitization. Consequently, it was successfully verified that the enzyme-fixed hydrogel have bioavailability.
The separation of nitrogen heterocyclic compound (NHC) contained in a model coal tar fraction was compared by the methanol and formamide extraction. The model coal tar fraction comprising four kinds of NHC (NHCs : quinoline, iso-quinoline, indole, quinaldine) and three kinds of bicyclic aromatic compound (BACs : 1-methylnaphthalene, 2-methylnaphthalene, dimethylnaphthalene), biphenyl and phenyl ether was used as a raw material. The aqueous solution of methanol and formamide were used as solvents. A batch-stirred tank was used as the raw material - a solvent contact unit of this work. Independent of the solvent used, the distribution coefficient of NHCs sharply increased by decreasing the initial volume ratio of water to the solvent and increasing the equilibrium operation temperature, whereas, the selectivity of NHCs in reference to BACs decreased. Decreasing the initial volume ratio of solvent to feed resulted in deteriorating distribution coefficients, but the selectivity of NHCs in reference to BAC was almost the constant. The distribution coefficient of NHCs by the methanol extraction was 3~5 times higher than that of NHCs by the formamide extraction, inversely, the selectivity of NHCs based on BACs by the formamide extraction was 3~7 times higher than that of NHCs by the methanol extraction. Furthermore, two different solvent extraction methods by adding the extraction processing speed to the balance between solvency and selectivity of NHCs were compared.
The purpose of this study is to provide the information on genesis of obsidian occurring in the southwestern part of Ulleung Island, Korea, and to discuss its implications for volcanic activity through volcanological and mineralogical properties of obsidian. Obsidian occurs locally at the lower part of the Gombawi welded tuff, showing various complex textures and flow banding. Though obsidian is mostly homogeneous, it is closely associated with alkali feldspar phenocrysts, reddish tuff, and greyish trachyte fragments. The obsidian occurs as wavy, lenticular blocks or lamination composed of fragments. Cooling fractures developed on obsidian glass are characterized by perlitic cracks, orbicular or spherical cracks, indicating that obsidian rapidly quenched to form an amorphous silica-rich phase. It is evident that hydration took place preferentially at the outer rim relative to the core of obsidian, forming alteration rinds. The glassy matrix of obsidian includes euhedral alkali feldspars, diopside, biotite, ilmenite, and iron oxides. Microlites in glassy obsidian are composed mainly of alkali feldspars and ilmenite. Quantitative analysis by EPMA on the obsidian glass part shows trachytic composition with high iron content of 3 wt.%. Accordingly, obsidian formed with complex textures under a rapid cooling condition on surface ground, with slight rheomorphism. Such results might be induced by collapse of lava dome or caldera, which produced the block-and-ash flow deposit and the transportation into valley while keeping high temperatures.

This study investigated the removal of a radioactive cesium ($Cs^+$) in the water at the water treatment processes. Since cesium is mostly present as the $Cs^+$ ion state in water, it is not removed by sand filtration, and coagulation with polyaluminum chloride (PACl), powdered activated carbon (PAC) and mixture of PACl and PAC. However, it is known that the removal rate of cesium increases as the turbidity increases in raw water. As the turbidity was adjusted by 74 NTU and 103 NTU using the surrounding solids near G-water intake and yellow soils, removal rate of cesium was about 56% and 51%, respectively. In case of a GAC filtration with supernatants after jar-mixing/setting was conducted, 80% of cesium is approximately eliminated. The experimental results show that it is efficient to get rid of cesium when the turbidity of the raw water is more than 80 NTU. In case of a GAC filtration, about 60% of cesium is removed and it is considered by the effect of adsorption. Cesium is not eliminated by microfiltration membrane while about 75% of cesium is removed by reverse osmosis.

In this paper, we describe the result of the test-bed on Nation-wide Interoperable Transportation System connected with Interoperable Traffic Information Collection System, which was developed by Korea Financial Telecommunications & Clearings, KOREAIL NETWORKS, HiPlusCard and Samsung SDS. we constructed Nation-wide Interoperable Transportation System on 4 downtown bus routes, 20 stations on line 1 subway, 2 stations of a train and 2 sections of the Honam highway in Gwangju and Interoperable Traffic Information Collection System in Seoul University IC Card Center. So we operated that by 480 Several staff were given a test card and asked to try it for about 6 months. This test-bed is for demonstrates the accuracy, safety and credibility of the Nation-wide Interoperability standard technology and it can be applied to all of transportation practically. When the staffs contact the card to Purchase terminal, the card performs transaction with Purchase SAM in the terminal, then transactions ara used to calculate in Settlement system and Interoperable Traffic Information Collection System. Through the test-bed, we examined this process and found unexpected problems happening during the test operation and have successfully solved them. In addition, the results of the test-bed let us know what additional improvement might be required for System. The successful run of the test-bed was verified by an evaluation of the test-bed staff and a public survey.
