This paper introduces a new theory, that in a stiffened plate, a steel stiffener could be substituted a composite material in order to prevent from buckling. Changing a steel stiffener into a composite material would not only preclude welding, but could also prevent damage to the material due to fatigue and corrosion.A composite material is assumed to adhere to a steel plate, and is never separated from the plate until the steel plate reaches buckling.Such plate has variable shapes, with different lengths and widths, and also shows an anisotropic material property. LUSAS, a commercial finite element analysis package, was used in the buckling analysis. This paper investigated buckling behavior in anisotropic composite plates with variable parameters.

Quasi-static tests such as monotonic tension and loading/unloading tension were performed to investigate the bond characteristics and the failure processes for the T-joint specimens made from fiber/epoxy composite material. Two types of specimens, each consists of two components, e. g. skin and frame. were manufactured by co-curing and secondary bonding. During the monotonic tension test, AE instrument was used to predict AE signal at the initial and middle stage of the damage propagation. The damage initiation and progression were monitored optically using m (Charge Coupled Device) camera. And the internal crack front profile was examined using ultrasonic C-scan. The results indicate that the loads representing the abrupt increase of the AE signal are within the error range of 5 percent comparing to the loads shown in the load-time curve. Also it is shown that the initiation of crack occurred in the noodle region for both co-cured and secondarily bonded specimen. The final failure occurred in the noodle region for the co-cured specimen. but at the skin/frame termination point for the secondarily bonded specimen. Based on the results, it was found that two kinds of specimen show different failure modes depending on the manufacturing methods.

In this study, tapered double cantilever beam specimens are designed with the variable of angle to investigate the fracture property at the bonded surface of adjoint structure. These specimens are made with four kinds of models as the length of 200 mm and the slanted angles of bonded surfaces on specimens of $6^{\circ}$, $8^{\circ}$, $10^{\circ}$ and $12^{\circ}$. By investigating experiment and analysis result of these specimens, the maximum loads are happened at 120 N, 137 N, 154 N and 171 N respectively in cases of the specimens with slanted angles of $6^{\circ}$, $8^{\circ}$, $10^{\circ}$ and $12^{\circ}$. As the analysis result approach the experimental value, it is confirmed to have no much difference with the values of experiment and analysis. It is thought that the material property can be investigated effectively on shear behavior of the material composed of aluminum foam bonded with adhesive through simulation instead of experiment by applying this study method.
In the synthesis of water-based polyurethane using self-emulsification process, after being neutralized, polyurethane pre-polymers containing ionic pendant groups are dispersed by simple convective mixing. Preparation of dispersion is followed by chain extension reaction, which is considered as important step for growth of the molecular weight of polyurethane. In this work, pH variations in the aqueous phase were monitored during the chain extension process in the presence of water-soluble diamines. The optimum degree of chain extension and the average particle size in the polyurethane dispersions were examined with varying ionic pendent group contents, type of chain extenders, and feed rate of chain extenders, The initial pH value in the aqueous phase linearly increased and the optimum chain extension point could be obtained from the intersection of two linear lines having different slopes, All average particle sizes before chain extension reaction were almost same, however, the final average particle size increased as feed rates of chain extenders increased, In addition, as the ionic pendant group contents increased, the particle size decreased since the hydrophilicity and hydrodynamic volume increased. As carbon numbers of the chain extenders increased, the final particle size increased significantly. From the results, it was concluded that the chain extension reaction took place among the particles not only in a particle.
Carbon fiber (CF) reinforced papers using polyacrylonitrile (PAN) based CF and wood pulp were prepared by varying the lengths and the concentrations of CF, and the basis weight of paper to investigate adhesive state between CF and pulp, and physical properties and electrical conductivity of the paper. The reinforcement was caused by physical entanglement and adhesion at the interface of the different fibers rather than by chemical bonds. The tear strength and the thickness of the paper increased as increasing the concentration of CF, while the tensile and the burst strength of the paper decreased. The improved dispersion of CF in the paper was obtained from mixing shorter CF, but the maximum electrical conductivity of the paper was gained from mixing 10 mm chopped CF. The electrical conductivity of the paper increased sharply from 2 wt% to 8 wt% of CF showing S-curve, and increased linearly as increasing the basis weight of the paper. Therefore, in order to improve the electrical conductivity and the physical property of the paper, the increase of basis weight of the paper is also important as the increase of CF content in the paper.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of various methods of dentin bonding agent application on microtensile bond strength between dentin and resin, using a 2-step etch-and-rinse dentin bonding agent. Material and methods: Twenty freshly extracted human molars were obtained and divided into 4 groups of 5 teeth. 2-step etch-and-rinse dentin bonding agent was used for all groups. The control specimens were prepared using a direct immediate bonding technique. The delayed dentin sealing (A, C) specimens were prepared using an indirect approach with delayed dentin sealing. For group A, resin was built-up on uncured dentin bonding agent, and for group C, resin was built-up on pre-cured dentin bonding agent. Preparation of the immediate dentin sealing (B) specimens also used an indirect approach with immediate dentin sealing immediately following preparation. All teeth were prepared for a microtensile bond strength test. Specimens were stored in water for 24 hours. Ten beams (1.0 ${\times}$ 1.0 ${\times}$ 11 mm) from each tooth were selected for testing. Bond strength data (MPa) were analyzed with a one-way ANOVA test, and post hoc comparison was done using the Scheffe's test. Results: The mean microtensile bond strengths of control group, B and C (DDS with pre-cure) were not statisticaaly different from each other at 32.7, 33.3, 34.2 MPa. the bond strength for group A (DDS without pre-cure), 19.5 MPa, was statistically different (P < .01) from the other 3 groups. Conclusion: When preparing teeth for indirect bonded restorations, DDS with pre-curing dentin bonding agent and IDS results in the same bond strength between dentin and resin. On the contrast, the bond strength was decreased when DDS without pre-curing dentin bonding agent was used.

Bonded CFRP Plate method used murk in reinforcement method is very efficient for stress increment of reinforced members. But CFRP plate dosen't display enough its capacity and have the destruction characteristic of premature failure that reach failure by debond plate, because near-surface-bond using epoxy. Such destruction character of reinforced specimens take the influence at variables as steel reinforcement ratio, concrete strength, kind of reinforcement materials, reinforced length, property of epoxy used in binder and so on. In this study, performed experiment results are compared and considered on flexural performance of Near Surface Mounted Reinforcement used CFRP-Rod, as complement about structural behavior of RC beam reinforced flexural capacity in CFRP plate and premature failure of reinforcement material. Main variables of RC beam applied CFRP Plate external bond method are experimental variables as reinforcement length, reinforcement position (tension face and side face of beam) and existence of ironware in end parts. In case of CFRP-Rod, variable is reinforcement length.

The reattachment lengths of the Non-Newtonian fluid are investigated in the sudden expansion pipes whose ratios are 2.316 and 3.368, and the range of the Reynolds numbers is 100-30000. The reattachment lengths for the viscoelastic fluid in the laminar flow region are found to be much shorter than those of the Newtonian fluid, and decrease significantly with the increase of the concentration of viscoelastic fluid is two or three times longer than those of water, and gradually increases with the increase of the concentration of viscoelastic fluid.
