  • This study utilizes a S-O-R model to investigate the effects of apparel product presentations using a 3D avatar model in Internet fashion malls for pleasure(emotional state) and approach behavior. We chose a 3D avatar model to present a fashion product in this study. The model walked for about one minute on stage; subsequently, respondents completed a questionnaire after they viewed it. The questionnaire consists of telepresence, pleasure and approach behavior. Respondents are limited to females 20s and 30s years old who have purchased fashion products in an Internet mall and are highly interested in fashion products. A total of 226 samples were used for the final analysis. Cronbach's alpha, correlation analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modeling were utilized in this study. The results are as follows. First, telepresence has a significant influence on pleasure; subsequently, pleasure influenced consumer approach behavior. Second, telepresence positively influenced the approach behavior (directly and indirectly). This verified the effectiveness of a 3D avatar model using S-O-R. A 3D avatar model can be a strategic alternative in the fiercely competitive Internet shopping sector.

  • This study analyzed variables that affect children's social behavior. The subjects were 1000 kindergarten children and their mothers living in Korea. Instruments used in this study were the Children's Social Behavior, Temperament, Emotional Intelligence, Maternal Characteristics, and Parental Involvement Checklist. Collected data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analysis. Results showed that (a) girls had higher social behavior score than boys. (b) For both boys and girls' social behavior was related to children's temperament and emotional intelligence. Particularly, children's emotional intelligence was the strongest predictor for both boys and girls' social behavior.

  • Reproductive behavior of the red-striped golden stink-bug, Poecilocoris lewisi Distant, was investigated in a room at 25${\pm}$1$^{\circ}C$, 60${\pm}$5% R.H. and the 16L:8D photo regimen. Mating of adults started on the 9th day after emergence, peaked 84.5% on the 21st day. Mating behavior of this insect was observed as follows : approach, antennal contact, mount, abdominal approach and copulation (end-to-end position). Males were quite active and produced by rubbing their body with the cages while searching for the females. However, the females responded passively during mating. Studios were further carried to see the response of virgin pairs under controlled conditions. It was observed that 69% of pairs succeeded in mating within one hour after the lights were switched on. Females remained unreceptive for 7 days of first mating, however, males were very much positive subject to the availability of virgin females. Although the remating frequency of female was positively correlated with fertility, but a male showed lower fertility as its frequency increased.
