Effects of Mixing Speed and Time on the Dynamic Viscoelasticity of Dough and the Baking Properties of Gluten-Free Rice Bread (교반 조건에 따른 Gluten-Free 쌀빵 반죽의 동적점탄성과 제빵 특성)

  • The effects of mixing speed (3, 6 and 10 speed) and time (2, 5 and 10 min) on the dynamic viscoelasticity of dough and the baking properties of gluten-free rice bread were investigated. The specific gravity of the dough was not affected by the mixing speed and time before and after fermentation. The elasticity (G') and viscosity (G") of the dough increased and the tan ${\delta}$ (G"/G') decreased with higher mixing speeds and longer mixing times. The specific volume of the gluten-free rice bread was affected by the mixing time in response surface methodology (RSM). The hardness of the gluten-free rice bread showed a decreasing trend as the specific volume for the gluten-free rice bread increased. The appearance of the gluten-free rice bread was symmetrical at high mixing speeds and long mixing times. Overall results indicated that the quality of gluten-free rice bread could be improved by controlling the mixing speeds and mixing times for the dough.

  • Absorption rate of carbon dioxide was measured in the aqueous polyacrylamide (PAA) solution containing triethanolamine (TEA) of $0{\sim}2.0\;kg\;mol/m^3$ in a flat-stirred vessel with an impeller of 0.05 m and agitation speed of 50 rpm at $25^{\circ}C$ and 101.3 kPa. The chemical absorption rate of $CO_2$ was estimated by mass transfer mechanism based on the film theory using the physicochemical properties containing the liquid-side mass transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ and the kinetics of reaction between $CO_2$ and TEA to compare with the measured rate. The aqueous PAA solution acted as a reducing agent by viscoelastic property of non-Newtonian liquid based on the same viscosity of the solution.

  • The rubber pads era tank which undergo dynamic deformations with the sufficient amplitudes and frequencies lead to a considerable internal temperature rise due to the heat generation. The heat generation which is dependent on the viscoelastic characteristics or a rubber is due to the conversion of partial mechanical energy into thermal energy identical to the area oi hysteresis loop. Heat generation without adequate heat dissipation leads to heat build-up and the excessive temperature rite exerts a bad influence upon the performance and the life of rubber products. In this paper, temperature distributions of the rubber pads of a tank track subjected to dynamic loads are obtained under the assumption of the steady state. Heat generation rates used in this finite element analysis are acquired through experiments and the computed temperature fields are displayed in isothermal contour regions.

  • The present study proposes modified temperature-dependent non-Newtonian viscosity model and investigates flow characters and heat transfer enhancement of the viscoelastic non-Newtonian fluid in a 2:1 rectangular duct. The proposed modified temperature dependent viscosity model has non-zero value near the high temperature and high shear rate region while on the existing viscosity models have zero value. Two versions of thermal boundary conditions involving difference combination of heated walls and adiabatic walls are analyzed in this study. The combined effect of temperature dependent viscosity, buoyancy, and secondary flow caused by second normal stress difference are ail considered. The Reiner-Rivlin model is adopted as a viscoelastic fluid model to simulate the secondary flow caused by second normal stress difference. Calculated Nusselt numbers by the modified temperature-dependent viscosity model gives under prediction than the existing temperature-dependent viscosity model in the regions of thermally developed with same secondary normal stress difference coefficients with experimental results in the regions of thermally developed. The heat transfer enhancement of the viscoelastic fluid in a 2:1 rectangular duct is highly dependent on the secondary flow caused by the magnitude of second normal stress difference.

A Study on Dynamic Characteristics of Single Lap Joints with Different Joining Methods (체결방법에 따른 랩조인트의 동특성 해석)

  • Two types of bolted lap joints, one with a viscoelastic layer and the other without the viscoelastic layer were chosen to analyze the dynamic characteristics of the joints with the mechanical properties of the bolts of the joints being taken as computational variables. The finite element method was used along with the impact hammer technique to verify the FEM model. The results in the bolted lap joints reveal that the higher the Young's Modulus for the bolts are the higher the natural frequencies results for the joints. However, the natural frequency differences in the first and second mode are not substantial but become noticeable in the higher modes. Lower natural frequencies were obtained for the bolted lap joints with the viscoelastic layer when compared with those of the bolted lap joints without the viscoelastic layer. And the differences in the natural frequencies for the two types of joints are relatively small in the first and second mode whereas in the higher mode the differences become significant. The loss factors were observed to be significant especially in the second mode for the bolted lap joints with the viscoelastic layer.

개 후두 점막에서 분비세포의 분포와 점액 당단백질의 조성

  • 상기도 점막의 분비세포와 이로부터 분비되는 점액은 각 부위에 따라 형태학적, 기능적 특성이 다르다. 특히 후두의 성대부위는 발성시 고속의 마찰진동이 있게 되어 성대상피를 보호하기 위한 윤활제 역할의 점액이 필요하다. 점탄성과 밀접한 연관이 있는 점액당단백질 분비세포의 조성비율과 밀도를 알기 위해서 개 10마리의 후두, 기관, 상악동, 비강점막을 채취하여 periodic acid-Schiff, alcian blue 1.0, alcian blue 2.5, high iron diamine-alcin blue염색을 하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 후두점막에서 선포의 밀도는 성문부의 후두실 상부에서 가장 높았다. 2. 후두점막에서 점액세포의 조성은 성문상부에서 가장 높았고, 장액세포의 조성은 성문부에서 가장 높았다. 3. 황화점액의 조성비는 성문부가 성문상부, 성문하부보다 유의하게 높았고, 후두의 세 부위와 기관에서 상악동과 비강보다 유의하게 높았다. 4. 타액점액의 조성비는 성문부에서 성문하부보다 유의하게 낮았으며, 성문부는 성문상부에 비해서도 통계적 유의성은 없었으나 낮은 경향을 보였다. 5. 상기도의 각 부위에서 당단백질의 조성비는 모든 부위에서 중성점액이 가장 높았고 산성점액중 성문부에서는 황화점액이 타액점액보다 유의하게 높았으며 성문하부, 상악동, 비강에서는 타액점액이 황화점액보다 유의하게 높았다. 이상의 결과에서 성문부에서 나타나는 높은 장액세포의 비율과 점액당단백질 조성의 특징이 성문부 점액의 성대운동에 대한 윤활작용에 적합한 생리적 역할을 담당하는 것으로 생각된다.

Equivalent Stiffness Analysis of Rubber Bushing Considering Large Deformation and Size Effect (부싱의 대변형거동과 크기를 고려한 등가 강성 해석)

  • In this paper, the amplitude and frequency dependent dynamic characteristics of the equivalent stiffness of a rubber bushing are investigated. A new mathematical model is proposed to explain the large deformation and size effect of a rubber bushing. The proposed model consists of elastic, viscous, and frictional stress components and the equivalent strain. The proposed model is verified using experimental results. The comparison shows that the proposed model can accurately predict the equivalent stiffness values of a rubber bushing under various magnitudes and frequencies. The developed model could be used to predict the dynamic equivalent stiffness of a rubber bushing in automotive engineering.

  • Hydroxy-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) propellants of solid rocket motors age differently under different storage temperatures. The shelf life of a solid rocket motor depends on the aging ratio of the HTPB propellant; it can be estimated through the viscoelastic properties by an aging test. This study analyzed the initial and natural aging properties during long-term storage. The initial properties were obtained from characterization and accelerated test results. The test results were obtained by analyzing the strain on cylindrical grains when a thermal load was applied.

  • In this study, we prepared glass fiber reinforced polypropylene composites using Brabender twin-screw extruder. Compatibilizer, polypropylene-based maleic anhydride (PP-g-MAH), was used to increase the molecular interaction between polypropylene matrix and glass fiber and to enhance melt processability. We also measured the shear and uniaxial elongational behaviors of glass-fiber reinforced composites in the absence or presence of compatibilizer. The effects of compatibilizer and fiber loading on the viscoelastic behaviors were examined. It was fuund that the PP-g-MAH compatibilizer improved the fluidity and increased the molecular bonding of composite melts in shear flow. Transient elongational viscosity was increased with fiber loadings in uniaxial elongational flow However, it was decreased with increasing elongational rates because of microscale shear flow between fibers.

  • In this study, the average particle size of silver powder was 2㎛, 7㎛, and a mixture of these (50:50wt%), three kinds of silver pastes were prepared. In addition, as a result of examining the viscosity and viscoelasticity of the three silver pastes, TGA measurement, resistance change according to strain, and change in surface structure of the electrode, the following conclusions were obtained. Summarizing these results, it was found that it is most desirable to have a particle size of about 2㎛ in order to minimize the change in resistance due to strain.
