  • Nowadays, it is hard to imagine one's life without smart phones or the internet. Furthermore, not only do people form groups offline, but also online. Based on the cognitive dissonance theory, there have been many studies about how an offline group's initiation affects attitudes toward the group. However, there has not been a study about how an online group's initiation can affect attitudes toward the group. Therefore, this study aims to find out how cognitive dissonance aroused by initiation affects the attitudes toward the online community, which represents groups that are formed online. In addition, this study examined how perceived similarity affects changes in attitude aroused by cognitive dissonance. Participants were assigned to a group in three ways as follows: without a registration process, with a simple registration process, and/or with a complex registration process. Perceived similarity was calculated by the difference between the current body mass index (BMI) and the target BMI of the participant. Attitudes toward the online group were measured by perceived source credibility, perceived information quality, satisfaction, information usefulness, and continuance intention. Contrary to the cognitive dissonance theory, the results showed that when applied to offline social groups, there were conflicting results. There were cases where there was no difference in the evaluation between initiation conditions. However, other cases showed that groups with the most complex registration process were found to have the worst evaluation. People were more favorable toward the group when the perceived similarity was larger. Interestingly, people who had higher perceived similarity had more positive attitudes toward the groups that had been assigned with a registration process compared to the group formed without a registration process. Conversely, people with lower perceived similarity had more positive attitudes toward the group when there was no initiation process. Online communities may use the results of this study to design more suitable registration processes for their communities.

  • Previous researches of organizational citizenship behavior have been focused mainly on organizations, and there have been only a few studies on the organizational citizenship behavior of nonprofit organizations. In particular, few empirical studies have been made on the relations among variables affecting the organizational citizenship behavior of profit and nonprofit organizations. Thus, this study attempted comparative analysis. According to the result of the analysis, in profit organizations, the fairness of procedure, emotional commitment and continuous commitment had a significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior, as well as the fairness of distribution and perception of organizational support. In nonprofit organizations, on the contrary, the fairness of distribution, the fairness of procedure, and perception of organizational support were insignificant, and only emotional commitment and continuous commitment had a significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior. This study is meaningful in that it comparatively analyzed the effects of organization members' perception of fairness on organizational citizenship behavior in profit and nonprofit organizations, and its outcome may be utilized as a reference in future researches but it has a problem in external validity that poses a limitation in its generalization.

  • Armed helicopter is an integral part of armed forces, which conducts vital missions, such as anti-armor attack, close air support, escorting air assault operations, and reconnaissance. A typical cockpit arrangement of armed helicopters has been a tandem configuration. This is to reduce the frontal area, which in turn increases the forward speed as well as reduces the chance of being hit by enemy fires. However, many armed helicopters in the world are now being developed as a side-by-side configuration. Such configuration is quite different from the conventional cockpit arrangement in light of the crew communications and situational awareness. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to find the optimized combination of mission tasks among pilots in a side-by-side configuration cockpit by measuring the workload using the NASA Task Load Index method. The experimental results indicate that the workload of crew members differ as disparate tasks are being performed.

  • In this paper a new analysis procedure for evaluation of progressive collapse resisting capacity of a structure was proposed based on the nonlinear static analysis procedure. The proposed procedure produces analysis results identical to those obtained by the linear static analysis procedure specified in the GSA guidelines without iteration, therefore saving a lot of computation time and excluding the possibility of human errors during the procedure. To verify the validity of the proposed procedure, the two methods were applied to the analysis of a reinforced concrete moment frame and a steel braced frame subjected to loss of a first story column and the results were compared. According to the analysis results, the two methods produce identical results in the prediction of progressive collapse and the hinge formation. As iterative analysis is not required in the proposed method, significant amount of analysis time is saved in the proposed analysis procedure.

  • It is a very difficult task to establish a collaborative procedure in a new business that requires multilateral collaboration or to revise the regulation by analyzing and proving objectively the problems in the collaborative process conducted already by multilateral collaboration. In this paper, we proposed an optimization model for collaborative process to establish the operation procedure between collaborative parties using PERT/CPM network diagram which allows us to calculate the processing time. In order to verify the effectiveness and usefulness of our model for the collaboration process optimization developed in this study, we applied the developed collaborative procedure to student selection of the work-and-study-in-parallel course associated with a degree executed by Ministry of Employment and Labor. This study can be useful not only for newly establishing or reconfiguring collaborative procedures but also for standardizing the business procedures for building information systems between collaborative organizations.

  • The endpoints and exchanges involved in a call can establish heterogeneous connection each other according to required bandwidth and bearer availability in multimedia communication. and as participating users are increased, call setup delay must not be exceedingly increased. In this paepr, we propose DMMSP(distributed multiparty multiconnection signaling protocol) which can support heterogeneous connections and multimedia communications. DMMSP gets over a limitation of existing B-ISDN protocol and provides signaling capabilities to support various kinds of conncetions, and each endpint can setup individual connection with bearer availability. Moreover since DMMSP separatively performs call processing in distributed scheme, call setup delay can be minimized. We present call control procedures which can be applied to existing B-ISDN protocol and DMMSP respectively. We take multiparty multimedia conference call as an example thta is applied to the existing B-ISDN protocol and DMMSP, and compare and quantitatively analyze each procedures.

  • The purpose of this study is to set up the GIS Audit methodology through the definition of standard procedure ailed GIS Audit criteria and the result of preliminary study about the GIS Audit. the frame of GIS Audit criteria and the result of preliminary study about the GIS Project and check the GIS Audit methodology is to define a standard process of GIS Project and check the GIS Project according to the standard process. We named the method as CASP(GIS Audit Standard Procedure). GASP method means doing Pilot Project for setting the sample standard procedure(named Prototype) of total GIS Project process, and checking the activity to fulfill the prototype. GASP method is advanced method for GIS Audit to analyze the full range of GIS Project and characteristics of GIS contents.

  • As observing the learning of middle school mathematics students for three years, I examined the relationship between students' procedural knowledge and their conceptual knowledge as they develop those knowledges in the rational number domain. In particular, I explored the implications of an unbalanced development in a student's conceptual knowledge and procedural knowledge by considering two conditions: (a) the case of a student who has relatively strong conceptual knowledge and weak procedural knowledge, and (b) the case of a student who has relatively weak conceptual knowledge and strong procedural knowledge. Results suggest that conceptual knowledge and procedural knowledge are most productive when they develop in a balanced fashion (i.e., closely iterative or simultaneously), which calls into question the assumption that one has primacy over the other.

  • A Study on Problem of Impeachment Evidence in Criminal Proceedings for Employ by the Convergence Meaning of impeachment evidence in criminal proceedings is liking the spread of the branches moment. The first, there is to set limits of impeachment evidence. The amicable solution is to accept moving flexibly. In a concrete way must to make away with a constituent element unlawfulness. The second, problem a return to probative force exist. This problem agree in principle to resolve an issue for the testimony of an eyewitness. The third, how to admit that institution of criminal investigation after the testimony of an eyewitness exist. This attendant conditions are to eliminate illegality for the authenticity in he testimony of an eyewitness and for the observe due process. Therefore, we must observe due process without illegality to solve the problem for the convergence.
