The Effects of Instructional Strategies Using the Process of Procedural Thinking on Computational Thinking and Creative Problem-Solving Ability in Elementary Science Classes (초등과학 수업에서 절차적 사고과정을 활용한 학습 전략이 컴퓨팅 사고력과 창의적 문제해결력에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of instructional strategies using the process of procedural thinking in elementary science classes on students' computational thinking and creative problem solving ability. For this purpose, instructional strategies using the process of procedural thinking for science class were developed and applied. The objects of this study were 6th graders from an experimental class (29 students) and a comparative class (29 students) at S elementary school in Gimpo City. The results of the study are as follows: First, as a result of examining the difference in the computational thinking ability between experimental group and comparative group, the experimental group scored higher than the comparative group, but there was no statistically significant difference. Second, the creative problem solving ability of the experimental group after applying this program was higher, and statistically significant differences were observed (p < .05).

  • 지금까지 가장 널리 사용되는 원전 안전성의 평가는 설비고장이나 인간오류와 관련된 조직(Institution/organization)의 질이 설비의 신뢰도와 인적오류에 영향을 주며 원전의 안전성에 전반적인 영향을 끼친다는 것을 고려하지 않고 있다. TMI 사고는 경미한 설비고장은 있었으나 중요한 사고원인은 운전원의 오류였다. 운전원 훈련양의 부족, 절차서의 불명확성, 주제어실의 설계상의 결함 등이 함께 어울어진 안전문화와 관련한 조직실패(Organizational Failure)였다. Chernobyl사고도 전반적인 관리조절(Management Control)의 부족과 운전원의 부적절한 실험 절차서의 검토, 안전 절차서의 위배 등이 함께 연루되어 발생하였다. (중략)

  • The generation, verification and validation of Emergency Procedures for Nuclear Power Plant is a difficult and complex process. Atomic Energy Control Board(AECB) requires that emergency procedure and plan be produced before obtaining the Operating License, that is, detailed plans and procedures to handle emergency situations for both on-site actions and off-site actions be developed. In this report Emergency Operating Procedures Standard for Canadian Nuclear Utilities which makes reference to U. S. practices and the current direction of emergency procedures for CAN-DU reactors are reviewed and compared based on scope(events covered), methodology (event-oriented or symptom-oriented or hybrid) and format(method of presentation) preponderantly, and an attempt is made to integrate these procedures and as a result the recommended strategy for Wolsong unit 2, 3, & 4 is presented as event-specific procedures, generic procedures(when event is not diagnosed) and whose format is combination of logic diagram and text.

  • This paper suggests to standardize railway accident restoration types as the code and standard operation system for efficient railway accident management. First of all, the damage types of have been carefully analyzed and reclassified. This study suggested the combination of 3 distinct code factors: restoration class, restoration object, and restoration location to standardize them. In addition, this study suggested procedures to make the standard operation system of emergency restoration, defined the worst case of emergency restoration and the important events. Therefore, the standard operation system of emergency restoration is developed. It shall play a major role as the database system for railway accident management, minimum of damage and rapid control of accident.

  • This study proposes a model of collection process for real-time forensic data, in which the manager was to respond to infringement incidents in terms of system operation and inspection and to collect, analyze and restore forensic data immediately after an incident took place. The suggested model was modeled in seven processes according to functional elements. Unlike the old and managerial forensic processes, the model allowed the manager to react to infringement incidents in the aspects of system operation and inspection and to follow the processes of collecting, analyzing, and restoring forensic data in case of an incident. There also was a feedback process designed towards the step of gathering forensic data through the stages of systematizing reaction strategies in order that he or she be able to bring about comprehensive and structural responses to an incident like the former processes in which it is difficult to bring about instant responses.

  • 피로에 있어서 해결되지 않은 문제는 현재도 허다하여 많은 연구가 필요하나, 현재까지의 지식 으로도 크나 큰 피로파괴사고는 충분히 방지할 수 있다고 저자는 생각하고 있다. 본고의 파손 해소예로부터도 어느 정도 추측이 가능하듯이 현재의 파괴사고의 대부분은 인위적인 것이다. 인위적인 파괴사고를 방지하는 방법의 하나는 합리적인 설계 및 보수, 관리시스템을 확립하는 것일 것이다. 당해기술이 현재도 미흡한 국내에서는 그 필요성이 더욱 절실히 느껴져, 본고에서 소개한 건전성 평가절차도 그러한 맥락에서 이루어지고 있다.

  • Emergency response guidelines play an important role which reduce consequence of accident. For development of useful emergency response guidelines, engineering methodology should be applied to the development procedures. In this study accident propagation model, bow-tie methods, emergency response decision methods were applied to existing emergency response guideline develop procedure. In this way, this study suggest generalized emergency response guideline develop procedures. Also a sheet was developed using suggested procedures to make sample guidelines for a case.

  • This study is to prepare the emergency response procedures for an unmanned LRT (Light Rapid Transit) which is being commercially operated recently. This emergency response procedure adds several particular characteristics which happens in the hardware and software aspects at the unmanned LRT in addition to the present emergency response procedures. The emergency response procedure has to conform to the emergency response planning. For doing that this emergency response procedure includes three important sub systems. First of all, the functional emergency response system has been developed. Secondly, Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) is suggested for the better and faster emergency response between emergency response personnel and institutes. Thirdly, emergency response training and drilling system is also provided for emergency response personnel. Finally, a software program for emergency response training and drilling will be developed and suggested to be used for the emergency response personnel.

On Algorithm Learning Using Graph Coloring Problem for Elementary Students (그래프 컬러링 문제를 활용한 초등학생을 위한 알고리즘 학습)

  • The paper shows that algorithm education positively affects algorithmic thinking for elementary students. Experiments are conducted on thirty five sixth graders without prior experience of algorithm. The experimental group is given eleven sessions of lesson for four weeks in which algorithmic solution is sought for graph coloring problems. After four weeks of experiments questionnaires are distributed to the students in order to measure differences in algorithmic interest and algorithmic thinking ability. The following results are obtained: Firstly, it may be observed that algorithm education with graph coloring may be effective in reinforcing students' interest in algorithms. Secondly, the experiment shows that algorithmic thinking ability may be enhanced from participating in graph coloring activities. In conclusion, algorithm education with graph coloring problem helps students develop algorithmic thinking ability as well as cultivate students' interest in algorithmic thinking.

  • 철도 운전사고의 대부분을 차지하는 철도건널목에 대한 기존의 사고예측식은 국외의 경우 Peabody Dimmick Formula, New Hampshire Index, National Cooperative Highway Research Program(NCHRP) report 50, U.S. Department of Transportation(DOT) 사고예측식 등을 이용하고 있었으며, 국내의 경우, U.S. DOT 사고예측식의 입력변수를 다변량 분석법을 이용하여 국내에 맞게 조정한 사고예측식을 이용하고 있다. 그러나 위에서 제시한 철도건널목 사고예측식은 철도건널목에서 발생하는 사고를 단순히 철도통행량, 도로통행량, 선로수, 도로수 등의 요인에 국한하여 분석한 것이고, 사고예측식 자체가 철도건널목에만 국한된다는 맹점을 안고 있어서 철도건널목장치라든지 철도건널목을 이용하는 사람들의 성향 등, 여러 인자를 고려한 철도건널목에서의 안전성분석 및 대책을 제시할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 철도건널목장치를 포함하여 다른 시스템에도 범용적으로 적용할 수 있고, 제한된 변수에만 국한하지 않아 여러 사항을 고려할 수 있는 안전성분석 절차를 제시하였는데 이 안전성 분석 절차를 철도건널목에 적용함으로써 시스템의 위험요인을 분석하고, 이에 대한 원인 및 결과, 손실을 도출한 후 대책을 제시할 수 있었다.
