The simplest and the most important distribution in survival analysis is the exponential distribution. In this paper, we investigate the influence of the random censorship model on the estimation of the scale parameter of the exponential distribution. The considered random censorship models are Koziol-Green model and the generalized exponential distribution model. Two models have different meanings. Through the simulation study, the averages of the estimated values of the parameter do not show big differences, however the MSE of the estimator tends to be bigger when the supposed model is significantly different from the true model.

Crossover trials of new drugs in the treatment of angina pectoris, which frequently use treadmill exercise test for the assessment of its efficacy, produce censored survival times. In this paper we consider analysis approaches for censored survival times from crossover trials. Previously, a stratified Cox model for paired observation and nonparametric methods have been presented as possible analysis methods. On the other hand, the differences of two survival times would produce interval-censored survival times and we propose a Cox model for interval-censored data as n alternative analysis method. Example data is analyzed in order to compare these different methods.

Thoracoscopic syrnpathicotomy is effective in treating not only palmar hyperhidrosis, but, also in treating axillary hyperhidrosis. In previous studies in Korea, sympathicotomy was focused on combinations including the End to 4th sympathetic chains (R2, 3, 4). Using a minimally invasive technique, the results of sympathicotomy of the 4th and 5th chains (R4, 5) of five patients, from February to August, 2002, for axillary hyperhidrosis without osmidrosis, were reviewed. All patients had a successful operation, their profuse sweating ceased. Three patients suffered from some degree of compensatory sweating. Among the three patients, only one patient suffered from moderate compensatory sweating over his back and thighs. Thoracoscopic R4, 5 sympathicotomy offers a very appealing method in the treatment for axillary hyperhidrosis in patients who have profuse axillary sweating.

The suitable tag was investigated based on the cumulative mortality, blood chemistry and histopathology of olive flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus. The dissection of opercle, 50% dissection of pelvic fin and 100% dissection of pelvic fin was used in the experiment. Cumulative mortality of dissection of opercle group was high. The dissection of opercle and 100% pelvic fin dissection groups was showing histological changes after 13days of tagging: purulent inflammation in the liver, fibrous inflammation in the body kidney, hyperplastic ellipsoide capillary in the spleen. As the results, 50% pelvic fin cutting group is the most effective out of them.

This study carried out to investigate the effect of cutting stimulation on time of cutting, yield and length of antler in Sika deer. There was no significance between surgical stimulation and length of antler, but length was the longest in one side cutting group and the shortest in both side cutting group. Development of point was increased as the number of wounds in the second year (P<0.05). Time of casting was 2 weeks earlier in one side cutting group (P<0.05) than in both sides cutting group. Yields of antler were $148{\pm}23g$ when pedicle was not cut, and $126{\pm}61g$, $179{\pm}63g$, 170g, and $48{\pm}25g$ when pedicle was cut by 0.3cm, 0.4cm, 0.5cm and 0.6cm, respectively. The most desirable thickness of pedicle cut was 0.4-0.5mm. Yield of antler was increased as the size of wound in the first year, and 588, 790 and 657g in control, one-cut and both-cut, respectively. Yields of antler in one-cut is significantly high (P<0.05).

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of the runner cutting time on the growth and yield of strawberry (Fragaria ${\times}$ ananassa cv. Maehyang and Seolhyang) during nursery period of two consecutive years (2009 and 2010). Strawberry runners which connected from mother plants to daughter plants were cut 30, 20, 10 and 5 days before transplanting day (11 Sep. 2009 and 10 Sep. 2010). When runner cutting time delayed, more nutrition was supplied to the daughter plant until late nursery period. It showed that there was a tendency to increase the fresh weight, crown diameter and leaf chlorophyll content. On the other hand, when the runner was cut earlier, the growth of underground part such as root weight was improved. Irrigation demand increased to 29.7% in case of runner cutting from mother plant compared with runner non-cutting treatment. In addition, infection ratio of anthracnose through runner part was 37.6% higher in case of runner cutting than that of runner non-cutting treatment. After transplanting, budding and flowering period were delayed up to 2 or 3 days because of late runner cutting. But there was no significant difference in marketable fruit yield among runner cutting times. It is recommended to conduct runner cutting 5 or 10 days before transplanting for reducing the occurrence of anthracnose.

통신의 연속적인 경로를 구성하기 위하여 광케이블의 상호접속점이 존재한다. 광섬유를 접속하는 과정에서, 두 광섬유 코어의 중심 축이 일치하지 않아 광 손실이 발생하게 되는데, 본 논문에서는 광섬유의 절단면의 형태에 따라 score, lip, roll off, chip, end angle, valley 모양으로 분류하고, 그 손실관계를 비교 분석하여, 광섬유의 절단면 불량으로 인한 재접속을 줄이기 위하여 불량여부를 쉽게 판정할 수 있는 융착접속 화면 개선 모델과 절단면의 형태별 접속허용 판정기준을 제시하였다.

당뇨 족은 하지 절단의 비외상성 원인의 가장 많은 부분을 차지한다고 합니다. 당뇨 환자에서는 하지를 절단할 가능성이 당뇨가 없는 환자보다 최저 15배에서 최고 46배까지 높다는 보고가 있습니다. 더욱이 당뇨족에 의한 합병증은 당뇨 환자의 입원 이유 중 25%에 이른다는 보고도 있습니다. 대부분의 당뇨 족 환자에서 합병증은 피부 궤양에서 시작되는데 일찍 발견하여 적절히 치료하는 것이 하지 절단을 피하는 것에 있어 매우 중요합니다. 이를 방치하였을 때 하지 절단으로 이어질 수 있는 당뇨 족의 원인 예방, 진단 및 치료에 대해 알아보도록 하겠습니다.

A theoretical analysis is presented on the mechanics of diamond blade sawing. The normal and tangential components of cutting force are calculated. Experimental results are also presented, which show the effects of cutting variables such as cutting speed, feed speed, cutting area, and concentration of diamond blade on the cutting forces. The experimental results are found to be in good agreement with those predicted by the analytical calculation.

통계학의 주요 관심인 표본의 정규성 검정을 위해 통계패키지에서 사용하고 있는 Q-Q(quantile-quantile) 플롯을 중도절단표본에서 사용함으로 발생하는 문제점을 알아보고 이를 보완하여 수정된 Q-Q플롯과 수정된 Normalized Sample Lorenz Curve(NSLC)을 제시한다. 예제로 Hodgkin's disease 데이터를 중도절단하여 새로 제시한 Normalized Sample Lorenz Curve을 그려보았다.
