Estimation of hazard function and hazard change-point for the rectal cancer data (직장암 데이터에 대한 위험률 함수 추정 및 위험률 변화점 추정)

  • In this research, we fit various survival models and conduct tests and estimation for the hazard change-point with the rectal cancer data. By the log-rank tests, at significance level ${\alpha}=0.10$, survival functions are significantly different according to the uniporter of glucose (GLUT1), clinical stage (cstage) and pathologic stage (ypstage). From the Cox proportional hazard model, the most significant covariates are GLUT1 and ypstage. Assuming that the rectal cancer data follows the exponential distribution, we estimate one hazard change-point using Matthews and Farewell (1982), Henderson (1990) and Loader (1991) methods.

Effects of Preheating Treatment and Chitosan Addition on the Textural Properties of Korean Radish during Salting (무의 염장과정 중 조직감의 변화에 대한 예열처리 및 Chitosan 첨가효과)

  • This study was attempted to investigate the effects of preheating treatment and chitosan addition on the textural properties of Korean radish during salting. For this study, we determined the changes in textural properties by compression, puncture, cutting tests respectively and the changes in pectin fractions were also determined. Sensory parameters such as hardness, crispness and toughness were evaluated by sensory analysis and their results were correlated with those by Instron. The results were as follows. The compression force of nonpreheated Korean radish was increased by chitosan addition, whereas that of preheated one was decreased during salting. The puncture force from all the samples of Korean radish decreased, however, chitosan addition showed higher puncture force. The cutting force of nonpreheated Korean radish increased during salting and those from nonpreheated and preheated ones were increased by chitosan addition. During salting hot water soluble pectin(HWSP) of nonpreheated Korean radish increased and 0.4% Na-hexametaphosphate soluble pectin(HXSP) and 0.05 N-HCl soluble pectin(HCISP) decreased respectively. However, HXSP was decreased by preheating treatment. On the contrary, the results were reversed by chitosan addition. Hardness and crispness of nonpreheated Korean radish decreased and toughness increased respectively during salting. However, toughness was decreased by preheating treatment and hardness was increased by chitosan addition. Compression and puncture forces were highly correlated with sensory parameters such as hardness and crispness, whereas cutting force was more correlated with toughness. From these results, it seems that the textural properties were improved by chitosan addition in both nonpreheated and preheated Korean radish. The preheating treatment was effective in the early stage of salting. However, combination of both treatments showed little effect during salting.

  • There are many clinical trials where a large portion of the patients are cured of disease. In such a case, one might be more interested in testing the differences in cure rates rather than other types of differences in failure distribution. For ethical and economic reasons, clinical trials must be repeatedly monitored for evidence of treatment benefit or harm. In this article, we examined by simulation the properties of nonparametric group sequential methods for comparing the cure rates between two treatment groups during the trial in a wide range of alternatives, censoring rates and cure rates.

  • 가뭄에 대한 대책을 수립하기 위해서는 가뭄의 심도 및 지속기간 등 가뭄특성을 산정하여 가뭄을 정량화 하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 가뭄을 해석하기 위하여 강수를 이용한 표준강수지수(SPI, Standardized precipitation Index)를 이용하여 가뭄 특성을 산정하였다. 서울지점은 강수의 근대 관측 기간이 약 100년 정도(1907년 ${\sim}$ 2003년) 이기 때문에 측우기 자료를 이용하여 조선 말까지(1770년 ${\sim}$ 1907년) 자료를 확장하여 가뭄지수를 산정하였다. 산정된 SPI로부터 절단 수준법 개념을 이용하여 SPI의 -1이하를 가뭄으로 정의 하고, 연속된 가뭄으로부터 가뭄 심도 및 가뭄 지속기간을 구하였다. 가뭄의 지속기간과 심도를 이변수 감마 분포(Bivariate Gamma Distribution)를 이용하여 가뭄의 재현특성을 분석하였고, 가뭄의 지속기간만을 고려한 재현기간과 본 연구에서 산정된 이변수 가뭄 재현기간을 서로 비교하였다.

소비자의 신선편이식품에 대한 수요와 요구

  • 신선편이 농산식품에 대한 소비자 조사에 대한 요약은 다음과 같다. 1. 과실 및 채소류의 구입 장소는 대형할인마트가 $60.5\%$로 가장 많으며 연령이 감소할수록 대형할인마트에서의 구입 빈도가 높았다. 2. 과실과 채소류의 구입 빈도는 전업주부 보다는 직장인의 구입 빈도가 높았다. 3. 신선편이 농산식품을 구입하게 된 동기는 조리시간 단축, 적정량 구입이 가장 많은 것으로 나타났으며, 구입하지 않은 이유로는 비싼 가격과 신선해 보이지 않기 때문으로 대답하였으나 향후 구입 의향에 대해서는 $68.1\%$가 긍정적인 반응을 나타내었다. 5. 신선편이 농산식품의 구입경험은 $62\%$로 식품소비층인 30-40대, 고학력일수록 더 많이 구입한 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 구입경험이 있는 사람은 편리성, 신선함, 맛, 다양성 등의 긍정적인 반응을 보였으나 구입경험이 없는 사람은 익숙하지 않거나 비싸다고 생각하는 것으로 나타났다. 6. 신선편이 농산식품의 구매 형태는 필요한양만큼 절단된 형태를 선호 하였다. 7. 신선편이 농산식품의 적정가격 수준은 신선 과실 및 채소 가격의 $110-140\%$를 가장 많이 선택했다 8. 신선편이 농산식품의 구매 고려 품질요인으로는 신선함, 위생, 외관 등의 순 이였고 이들을 개선한다면 지속적으로 구매하겠다고 대답한 사람이 $87.7\%$로 조사되었다.

  • 광학용 정밀유리와 건축용 패널유리 전문가공을 위한 CNC Glass Scribing Machine 을 개발하였다. 이제까지는 고품질의 고가기계를 수입하여 사용하던가 간이 자동화된 자체 개발기계를 사용하여 여유있게 절단한후 연삭가공에서 정밀칫수를 맞추는 작업을 해왔었다. 그러나 금번 개발된 기계를 사용하여 작업한 결과 연삭공정을 생략할수 있음은 물론 가공칫 수 정밀도도 일급 수준을 얻을수 있었다. 그러나 아직 세계일류의 품질과 성능은 도달치 못 했다. 생산성 향상을 위한 이송속도 향상설계와 가공칫수 정밀도의 초일급 달성을 위한 초 정밀설계를 통해 품질과 성능에서 세계일류의 상품화 개발과정을 준비중에 있다. 본논문에 서는 본 기계의 개발과정 및 주요요소기술들과 개발 결과를 정리하였다.

The Tissue Types of Stroma in Some Species of Hypoxylon (Hypoxylon속 자낭자좌 조직의 형태 연구)

  • The tissue types of stromata were observed intensively in four species of Hypoxylon under a scanning electron microscope (SEM). These stromata were sectioned with a freezing fracture method for observation. Several tissue types were recognized and stable in each species. This study presents the most intensive observation of tissue types of each layer of stromata. It will be useful for taxonomic criteria for the species level. However, the tissue types can not be major taxonomical criteria for the genus Hypoxylon.

A Survey on Status of Pregnancy and Delivery at a Rural Village, Nepal(Dolakha Bazar Area) (네팔 돌카지역의 임신분만 환경)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the status of pregnancy and delivery and relationship among knowledge, attitude and practice about pregnancy and delivery in poor country, Nepal. A questionnaire survey by interviewer was conducted to examine the general characteristics, knowledge about pregnancy and delivery, attitude about pregnancy and delivery, the rate of prenatal care and delivery condition of women who had an experience of delivery during last year$(1994.4.13\sim1995.4.12)$ at a rural area, nepal(Dolakha Bazar Area). The major findings are as follows ; Among respondents, 87.5 percentage never had health education and the degree of knowledge about pregnancy and delivery was low. Among respondents, 56.6 percentage had the attitude that they didn't want antenatal care, 42.8 % of respondents answered that they wouldn't visit hospital or health center when vaginal bleeding occurred and 82.9% thought that the delivery itself was dirty. The proportion of women who experienced antenatal care was 28.3%, the proportion of health facilities delivery was 5.3%, which was very low and 82.6% of home delivery case didn't sanitate the tool to cut the umbilical cord. The women who had positive attitude about antenatal care and health facility utilization experienced more antenatal care and health facilities delivery. On consideration of above findings, health education for pregnancy and delivery is required to improve mother-child health status in poor country. To make efficient health education, the target population group, such as the uneducated, inhabitants far from health center or medical facility, must be chosen. To help the poor countries in medical field, the study on health status and its related factors on these countries like this article would be required.

공유결합으로 고정화된 urokinase 칼럼의 스케일업과 solid-phase refolding에 의한 반복 사용

  • We scaled up a covalent immobilization system of urokinase to the activated Sepharose and used it repeatedly to cleave a fusion protein consisting of human growth hormone and GST fragment. After scale up from 6 ml to 250 ml, the column system still demonstrated basically the same performance in terms of urokinase immobilization and fusion protein cleavage. When the column was washed with 6M guanidine HCl after the cleavage reaction. the immobilized urokinase showed no activity probably because it was fully unfolded. However. as the denaturant was gradually removed from the column the immobilized urokinase fully regained its bioactivity. which indicated it was properly refolded into its native conformation as covalently attached to the solid matrix. After 20 cycles of this 'solid-phase unfolding/refolding', the immobilized urokinase maintained approx. 80% of the initial bioactivity. This method provides an efficient protocol to apply the solid-phase refolding technique to improve the longevity of immobilized enzyme columns.

  • In this study, the transfer length of strand was measured for three types of HCS member(H200, H320, and H400) manufactured by the pretension method. Strain gauges were attached in longitudinal direction at regular intervals on the sides of the HCS members, and the strain was measured during the cutting process of HCS. The stain at the cutting point was zero, and gradually increases in the central direction of the member, converging to a constant value after passing the transfer length. In the case of H200 members in which the strands were arranged one by one, the transfer lengths were formed within the range of the design equation (up to 762 mm). The transfer length of the H320 member and the H400 member, in which three strands were arranged, was higher than the design range (850 mm or more).
