Effects of Natural Herbal Extracts on Electrical Brain Activity and Autonomic Nervous System (천연 약초 추출 향이 뇌파 활성과 자율신경계에 미치는 영향)

  • In the literature, inhalation of cosmetic fragrances, including natural extracts or natural essential oils, has been reported to induce brainwave changes. Angelica gigas (AG) and Cnidium officinale (CO) are widely used in East Asian countries as traditional medicines to improve health, but there have been no previous reports of inhaling their aromas and assessing changes in brain activity through electroencephalogram (EEG) recordings. In this study, the scent of natural herbal extracts such as Artemisia princeps var. orientalis (Compositae), AG, and CO was inhaled and evaluated whether emotional state changes were caused by olfactory stimuli, and brain activity was confirmed through EEG records before and after inhaling the scent of natural herbal extracts in subjects aged 20 to 30. We also used an electrocardiogram (ECG) to record the electrical activity of the heart during fragrance administration. The test results indicated that inhaling the scents of Compositae, AG, and CO extracts, as well as the positive control lavender, significantly increased the relative alpha power and the alpha/beta ratio of brain waves across the brain regions. The ECG recordings indicated that the inhalation of Compositae fragrance significantly decreased the low-frequency/high-frequency ratio, and that the inhalation of traditional herbal extract fragrances resulted in comfort and relaxation.

  • This study aims to conceptualize characteristics of the Korean traditional dance, and to categorize and analyze the recognition of experience of passing down education of Seungmu(Buddhist Dance), Salpurichum(Exorcism Dance) and Taepyeongmu(Dance of Peace). Dividing into groups of two: an experienced person twenty years or more in the Korean dance and a person who completed the traditional dance three years or more, three groups were selected. We connected the characteristics of the traditional dance experienced in passing down education with the recognition experience in the training courses. Categorizing thematically the process and the recognition of experience in the passing down education program, we attempted mutual group discussion and inductive area analysis on the basis of in-depth interview, tutorial discussion and analysis contents. As a result of this study, first, the characteristics of the Korean traditional dance that graduates of the program by repertory empathize were the experience of the sinmyung(the excess of mirth) and improvisation, the supreme self-controlling beauty and the best beauty of expression. Second, the recognition of experience in the passing down education program runs as follows: Interacting in the centre of the process, new education system for transmission, and formation of social discourse for appreciation. Conclusionally, the experience and the new vision for transmission of passing down education of the traditional dance are required to be based on the appreciation of the rationality of mutual communication and recognition of experience.

Effect of Extraction Conditions on Yield and Quality of Extracts in Astragalas manbranaceus Bunge, Angelica gigas Nakai (황기, 당귀 추출물의 추출조건이 추출물의 수율 및 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • 전통 한약재의 일환인 황기, 당귀로부터 추출물의 획득은 일반적으로 열수추출법에 의하여 행해져 왔으나 추출물의 획득수율이 낮고 추출, 농축과정에서의 심란 열처리로 인하여 고유의 향이 소실되는 등 많은 문제점을 안고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 주정추출법을 시도하여 황기, 당귀 추출물의 획득수율을 열수추출법의 50, 39%(w/w) 대비 각각 15. 36% 증가한 65. 75%로 향상시킬 수 있었으며, 강한 고유의 향을 포집하고 있는 전혀 새로운 타입의 추출물을 얻을 수 있었다. 추출과정on서 열수추출법과의 차이는 추출용매를 물에서 주정으로 변경한 것과 1차 추출 후 얻어진 박을 이용하여 2차 추출을 행하였으며, 농축온도를 열수추출의 104$^{\circ}C$에 비하여 상대적으로 낮은 9$0^{\circ}C$에서 실시하였다. 이와 같이 처리온도와 거의 무관하게 주정은 고유의 향을 포집하는 뛰어난 효과를 나타내었다. 이 추출물을 물엿, 음료 등의 제품에 적용할 경우 별도의 인공향료 처리 없이 천연물 그대로의 가공으로도 충분한 고유의 향미를 부여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Groping for the Direction of Development from the Comparison of Traditional Medicine between Korea and Vietnam (한국과 베트남의 전통의학 현황 비교를 통한 발전 방향 모색)

  • The aim of this study was to survey the recognition and utilization of traditional medicine among the clinical doctors who working at traditional medicine hospital in Vietnam. The survey was conducted for 3month from September to November, 2012. As a result, the highest recognized traditional medicine was acupuncture(91.4%) and herbal medicine(86.1%). Almost of respondents had ever used acupuncture(99.4%), massage or acupressure(97.6%) and herbal medicine(95.3%) in daily clinical practice. And commonly treated health problem was neurological and psychological disease(23.5%). The most used diagnostic methods were tongue diagnosis and pulse diagnosis(97.6%). This survey will help to explore the point of contact between the traditional medicine of Vietnam and Korea. This survey results could be used as basic materials to actively approach traditional medical markets through international exchange and cooperation in the future.

  • This study is a study on ways to revitalize traditional markets in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, and a total of 188 of the 2021 Cheonan City traditional market and shopping district fact-finding data were used for research and analysis. In order to revitalize the environment improvement of traditional markets, it can be seen that environmental changes suitable for the times are primarily required. The traditional market is an underdeveloped space, and through the parking environment improvement project and facility modernization project (toilet, facility equipment, etc.), space is improved through a specialization and subdivision process to meet the needs of the times, thereby increasing operational convenience, increasing visitor use, and improving natural perception. can promote In addition, the efficiency and effectiveness of the traditional market vitalization project can be increased when differentiated management vitalization contents and facility modernization projects are organically harmonized. This study is meaningful in that it analyzes the environmental improvement of facilities among the traditional market vitalization factors for the vitalization of the traditional market, and proposes a plan that can be a practical alternative to the government support policy for the traditional market.

  • The purpose of this study is to establish management and support system for traditional medical manuscripts using bibliographical, linguistic and traditional medical methods in order to protect disappearing and take advantage of traditional medicine. We'll translate selective traditional medical manuscripts into Korean and build a database and computerized database, which improve value of future diverse application and restore and give shape to traditional medical documents by providing methods for ontology of traditional medicine. We also arrange and analyze the old traditional medical books with diverse study system and evaluate medical usefullness. We intend to provide practical use of the prescription in based medicine as well as clinical medicine by reinterpretation from modem viewpoint.

  • Effects of cereal kojis and legumes on alcohol fermentation and fibrinolytic activities of Korean traditional wines were investigated. The Korean traditional wine which was brewed by addition of 10% barley koji into the mash showed the greatest fibrinolytic activity of 20.0 U and good ethanol productivity (16.8%). The fibrinolytic activity was increased up to 26.0 U by addition of 50% of mungbean and its acceptability were improved by addition of jujube (3%) into the mash.

  • 우리 전통식품중의 하나인 약과를 미국 현지인에게 수출을 위한 기초자료로 활용하고자 2002년 8월에 시카코, 아틀란타, 뉴욕, 샌프란시스코 지역 미국인 350명을 대상으로 디자인과 포장표시사항을 영어로 인쇄한 약과의 기호도 조사를 실시하였다. 동부지역의 1차 기호도 조사는 코넬대학교 학생과 직원을 대상으로 하였으며, 조사 대상자는 남녀 각각 20대와 30대를 위주로 조사하였다. 2차 기호도 조사는 40대∼60대 이상의 뉴욕시민을 대상으로 각각 남녀를 구분하여 실시하였다. 전체적으로 볼 때 남녀 성별에 관계없이 포장, 디자인, 인쇄와 냄새가 좋은 것으로 나타났으며 약과에 대한 선호도는 남성이 여성보다 다소 높게 나타났다. 세부적으로 볼 때 남자의 경우 연령이 낮을수록 인쇄상태를, 연령이 높을수록 향과 품질에 더 높은 점수를 주었으며 여자의 경우에는 포장상태와 디자인을 중시하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 외국인들의 기호에 맞는 인쇄, 디자인, 포장을 한다면 우리나라 전통 한과인 약과의 수출을 확대시킴으로서 우리 전통의 식품의 세계화가 가능할 것으로 판단되었다.

A Study on Establishment of the Fermentation Process for Traditional Andong Sickhae (전통 안동식혜의 제조공정 확립에 관한 연구)

  • The fermentation process of Andong Sickhae including optimal composition of the product was investigated. Through sensory evaluation and ingredient analysis of ten samples prepared in the laboratory and the samples collected from Andong region, we found that the ratio of ingredient of the product by weigh are as follow : [glutinous rice(80) : malt(50) : radish(100) : water(500) : ginger(8) : red pepper(4)]. The level of nitrogen compound turned out to be low while that of soluble protein and salt soluble protein was high. The content of total sugar and reducing sugar was found to be considerable high and among the free sugar, maltose was the highest(80%), followed by glucose and maltotriose. Activities of acid protease and saccharogenic amylase were 1.55 unit per milliliter and $12.5D^{40}_{30}^{\circ}$ respectively. Results of sensory evaluation showed that the good Andong Sickhae turned out to have well harmonized taste of flavor, sweetness and sourness while the color looked slightly red.

  • 초고속 통신망의 발전으로 인터넷을 통한 고화질 비디오 서비스가 가능하게 되었으며 이에 따라 스마트TV, IPTV 서비스와 같은 방통융합서비스가 대중화 되고 있다. 그리고 이러한 추세에 맞추어 방송 이외의 매체를 통한 비디오 콘텐츠 소비가 증가하고 있고, IT사업자들과 가전사들이 방송 플랫폼 사업에 진출하는 등 전통적인 방송 산업 구조에도 변화가 일어나고 있다. 이와 같은 환경 변화에 대응하기 위해 KBS 기술연구소는 지상파 방송 기반의 하이브리드 TV 서비스를 연구하고 있고, 이를 OHTV(Open Hybrid TV)라는 이름으로 국내의 다른 방송사들 및 가전사 등과 함께 표준화하고 있다. 안정적이고 효율적으로 대용량 비디오를 전송할 수 있는 방송망과 양방향 특성을 가진 통신망을 같이 활용하는 하이브리드 TV 환경에서는 양방향 방송 서비스를 보다 효율적으로 제공하는 것이 가능할 것으로 기대된다. 이를 통해 TV 시청자에게는 개인화된 형태의 새로운 방송 서비스를 제공하고, 방송사에게는 전통적인 사업모델을 탈피하여 새로운 비즈니스 모델을 찾을 수 있는 기회를 줄 수 있다. 이미 유사한 개념의 서비스들이 국내외에서 다양하게 시도되고 있으며 본 논문에서는 OHTV 서비스 시나리오 및 요소기술과 이를 구현한 시스템을 소개한다.
