Development and Applications of Secondary School After-School Programs Using Korean Traditional Elements: Focusing on Gift Wrapping Designs (전통적 요소를 활용한 중·고등학교 방과후 프로그램 개발 및 적용: 포장디자인 내용을 중심으로)

  • In order for young people to be interested in tradition, a specialized experience program that can be frequently encountered is needed. We have developed an after-school traditional gift-wrapping design program in relation to the subject of home economics for the purpose of enabling students to become interested in tradition and deepen their traditional knowledge. The research process was comprised of analysis, development, and evaluation. We analyzed the home economics curriculum, authentic designs from blogs and department stores along with books published by gift-wrapping associations, and interviews with three gift wrapping specialists. Contemporary traditional packaging design is not limited to the reproduction of the traditional design but also creates designs that strongly express unique Korean identity using traditional symbol patterns, colors, traditional decorations, and small items along with modern materials. A 16-week after-school program was developed based on the analysis results. After the implementation of the after-school program in a middle school, survey results showed students who were indifferent toward tradition showed interest and acquired a positive image towards tradition.

  • 한 후란 중국의 전통 복장을 말하는 것이다. 한 장 (漢裝) 이라고도 하며 고대 복장이라고도 한다. 영어로는 silk robe라고도 한다. 한 후는 한 나라 이후 명나라까지 만주가 정복하기 전인 1644년까지 입혀졌던 중국의 전통복장이다. 최근 중국에서도 전통복장에 대한 새로운 모색이 일어나고 있다. 중국 전통복식으로 대표되는 치파오는 만주족의 한족 말살 정책의 일환으로 간소화시킨 복식이다. 따라서 중국 전통의복은 만주족에 의해 사양길을 가기 전 고대 한 조의 복식이 중국전통을 대표한다고 할 수 있다. 전통적인 한 후 스타일은 벨트를 매며 여밈이 있고 좁은 소매 혹은 넓은 소매가 특징이다. 한 족이 한 나라, 상 왕조, 송나라, 당나라때 입었던 한 후가 중국의 복식을 대표하는 복식이며 주나라의 쉔의는 튜닉과 스타일의 결합으로서 아직도 상류그룹이 입고 있다. 당나라에서는 동방의 문화와 혼합되어 화려하거나 사치스럽게 수정되었고 만주가 침범하여 한 후는 더 이상 전통복으로 입히지 못하였다. 한 후의 현대적 의미를 볼 때 역사적으로는 베트남에서 기모노에 이르기까지 그 원형을 볼 수 있고 한 후를 통해 중국전통 복식의 원류를 찾을 수 있다. 연구방법으로 문헌과 시각자료를 활용하였다. 한 후의 현대적 의미는 전통의 새로운 자각과 세계화 현대화의 노력이라 할 수 있다. 치파오로 규정된 중국복식에 반해 전통 한 후에 대한 올바른 인식과 활용은 세계화와 오리엔탈이미지에 녹아 있는 한 후 디자인 디테일을 통해 현대적 모색을 활용하고 있다. 충분한 시각 자료가 부족하지만 현대적 노력이 앞으로의 중국이미지의 재고를 가져올 것이다.

  • 본 연구는 조선시대의 혼례복 규범과 변천 양상에 관한 것으로, 신랑의 사모ㆍ관대, 신부의 족두리ㆍ화관에 원삼 또는 활옷이라고 하는 혼례복 규범이 언제부터 형성된 것인지, 보편적인 규범이었는지 등에 대한 검증을 연구목적으로 한다. 이러한 검증을 통해 혼례복 전통의 특징과 의미를 파악할 때 올바른 전통 혼례복의 계승이 가능할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.(중략)

  • 기술의 발전과 정신을 차리기 힘들 정도로 쏟아져 나오는 정보들로 인해 기존의 전통적 시각언어들은 벌써 형태적으로나 기능적으로 위기를 맞고 있다. 동영상에 기반을 둔 상호간의 의사소통은 이제 더 많은 것을 요구한다. 소프트웨어의 기술과 전통방식의 디자인을 결합하는 것만으로는 불충분하다. 앞으로의 모션그래픽은‘어떤 방식으로 메시지와 디자인, 시간, 움직임을 융합할 것인가’가 중요하다.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of traditional art expressions in recent Chinese online games, which are now most popular in Chinese game market. Designing the MMORPG game character reflecting users' psychological preferences for aesthetic characteristic of the traditional Chinese culture allows the users to feel more visual satisfaction while they are enjoying a game. The selected characters for this analysis were chosen from the traditional myth chivalry game to utilize the traditional art expressions that are peculiar in Chinese MMORPG. The analysis was conducted within the context of an ideal character figure and operation, and social nature reflecting a personal user. This analysis suggested the representation technique reflecting traditional clothing, color, and life style, and the reconstruction of subject matter, and the development of the characteristics of ideal group character. Even though Chinese MMORPG history is short, this study will help the user understand more effectively the identity of the myth martial MMORPG game in connection with the Chinese traditional culture and art. And this study will also increase the user's satisfaction of the Chinese online-game.

Face Design of Korean Traditional Fashion Doll (한국 전통 패션인형 얼굴 디자인)

  • This study aims to develop a proper face design for traditional fashion doll so that the Korean traditional doll can achieve its stand in the modern collection with the new face design based on researching documents, analyzing the examples and delivering a customer survey. The majority of dolls in traditional costume has an innocent look with inverted triangle shape face. But the inverted triangle or oval shape as well as the refined look of well balanced facial features are preferred. An oval face, elongated eyes with no double eyelid or inner double eyelid, plump lips and round and high nose are considered beautiful in the traditional figure. Based on this result, a new design is configured with an inverted triangular face with slightly plump cheeks, eyes with reduced eye, pupil and double eyelid, round nose without tuning up and small and full lower lip.

  • The purpose of this study was investigate the consistency of Korean traditional space in apartment. Fifty-two apartments and its dwellers were selected for field survey research and questionnaire. The major findings were summarized as follows: First, the space layout which has its origin in Korean traditional house was found in contemporary apartment and favored than that of western apartment. Second, among the Korean traditional space characteristics, the openness and closeness were found between the living room and room, living room and dining room, dining room and kitchen. Third, the heating system has been being changed from radiator to on-dol. Also favored finishing materials were revealed on-dol wood flooring and picture window for the living room, jang-pan flooring and Korean lattice window for the master room, wall covering for every wall and ceiling.

  • Being a symbolic image to let traditional 'mother wonlee' contents characters known widely, need to be made in a way that can deliver the powerful message of korea An-dong traditional local contents and the value of regent story. As for the contents character develope methods and the scope of the study, an theoretical study was conducted based on literature review, and, factor plus fiction field surveys, and the legend story and then an effect of character marketing on global contents with original identity. 'mother wonlee' pre-production plaining have been analysis with creative described based on the ancients features and the classification of ancient original characters, and the situation and the concept of An-dong local place. as a results this thesis is show up how to make up a main character develop processing and make a features design processing of the characters who different age and a scenes. as a conclusion is drawing about a 'Wonlee' and 'Eungtea' both main Character plaining processing and graphics; traditional face, all clothes, body proportion, etc. Also we trade to traditional patten with character planing. it will be a high value industry which facilitates a variety of industries in conjunction with marketing traditional source characters in global. Recognizing the value of traditional story main character design and graphics marketing and utilizing the value through various media will create infinite value, enabling the global marketing.
