Current Control for an AFE Rectifier Using Space Vector PWM (공간벡터변조방식에 의한 AFE정류기의 전류제어)

  • Electric propulsion ships are gaining widespread interest in the marine industry owing to extreme air pollution concerns. Consequently, several studies are actively being conducted for improving the power quality. Various methods have been developed that incorporate passive filters, notch filters, and active filters for reducing the harmonic content in the input current of a conventional diode front end rectifier. Among such filters, the active front end (AFE) rectifier is considered as an excellent technology. In this paper, current control for an AFE rectifier employing space vector PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) is proposed. Conventional current control methods for the AFE rectifier, hysteresis, SPWM (Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation), and SVPWM (Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation) were simulated by employing the PSIM software tool for analysis and comparisons. The results corroborate that SVPWM has the simplest structure and provides the best performance.

Effects of Molecular Weight of Polyethylene Glycol on the Dimensional Stabilization of Wood (Polyethylene Glycol의 분자량(分子量)이 목재(木材)의 치수 안정화(安定化)에 미치는 영향(影響))

  • This study was carried out in order to prevent the devaluation of wood itself and wood products causing by anisotropy, hygroscopicity, shrinkage and swelling - properties that wood itself only have, in order to improve utility of wood, by emphasizing the natural beautiful figures of wood, to develop the dimensional stabilization techniques of wood with PEG that it is a cheap, non-toxic and the impregnation treatment is not difficult, on the effects of PEG molecular weights (200, 400, 600, 1000, 1500, 2000, 4000, 6000) and species (Pinus densiflora S. et Z., Larix leptolepis Gordon., Cryptomeria japonica D. Don., Cornus controversa Hemsl., Quercus variabilis Blume., Prunus sargentii Rehder.). The results were as follows; 1) PEG loading showed the maximum value (137.22%, Pinus densiflora, in PEG 400), the others showed that relatively slow decrease. The lower specific gravity, the more polymer loading. 2) Bulking coefficient didn't particularly show the correlation with specific gravity, for the most part, indicated the maximum values in PEG 600, except that the bulking coefficient of Quercus variabilis distributed between the range of 12-18% in PEG 400-2000. In general, the bulking coefficient of hardwood was higher than that of softwood. 3) Although there was more or less an exception according to species, volumetric swelling reduction was the greatest in PEG 400. That is, its value of Cryptomeria japonica was the greatest value with 95.0%, the others indicated more than 80% except for Prunus sargentii, while volumetric swelling reduction was decreased less than 70% as the molecular weight increase more than 1000. 4) The relative effectiveness of hardwood with high specific gravity was outstandingly higher than softwood. In general, the relative effectiveness of low molecular weight PEG was superior to those of high molecular weight PEG except that Quercus variabilis showed more than 1.6 to the total molecular weight range, while it was no significant difference as the molecular weight increase more than 4000. 5) According to the analysis of the results mentioned above, the dimensional stabilization of hardwood was more effective than softwood. Although volumetric swelling reduction was the greatest at a molecular weight of 400. In the view of polymer loading, bulking coefficiency reduction of swelling and relative effectiveness, it is desirable to use the mixture of PEG of molecular weight in the range of 200-1500. To practical use, it is recommended to study about the effects on the mixed ratio on the bulking coefficient, reduction of swelling and relative effectiveness.

A Study on the Travel Characteristics of Administrative Unit by Factor and Cluster Analysis: Focused on Incheon Metropolitan City (요인 및 군집분석을 이용한 기초 행정단위별 통행특성 분석: 인천광역시를 중심으로)

  • In this study, factor and cluster analysis are used to classify characteristics of the administrative basic unit, "Dong", of the Incheon Metropolitan City. Travel characteristics of the classified groups are then analyzed through databases to provide directions of urban transportation planning. First, industrially developed administrative-dong show a high commuting volume by using cars. Thus the analysis indicated the need to staggering work-hour system and signal operating system policy. Second, commercially developed administrative-dong show heavy use of public transportation and long distance commute as well as high volume of shoppers. The analysis indicated the need to improve road infrastructure. Third, densely populated administrative-dong show a high rate of commute to work and school as well as long hours of commuting. Thus the analysis indicated the need to improve road transportation policies during rush hours. Fourth, administrative-dong with multiple characteristics feature heavy pedestrian traffic thus the study analyzed the need to improve pedestrian environment policies. Lastly, administrative-dong in close proximity to train stations feature extensive use of biking as well as high volume of shoppers and students commuting. Thus the study analyzed the necessity to have plans to enhance accessibility.

Studies on the Dimensional Stabilization of Wood -Especially by the Solution of Different Composition by PEG Molecular Weight- (목재(木材)의 치수 안정화(安定化)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) -Polyethylene Glycol의 혼합액(混合液)을 중심(中心)으로-)

  • This study was carried out to elucidate the desirable PEG molecular weight and it's blending methods which can promote the dimensional stabilization of Corpus controversa, Quercus variabilis and Prunus sargentii. The results may be summarized as follows: 1. PEG polymer loading in woods was affected by specific gravity of wood. And the PEG polymer loading was satisfactory except in Quercus variabilis, which shows the blending method of PEG V was proper. 2. Bulking coefficiency of PEG V was high in Corpus controversa and Prunus sargentii, and it is necessary to paint or coat water-proofing wood preservative: for high bulking coefficiency of Quercus variabilis. 3. In the treatment of PEG V, the antishrink efficiency of Prunus sargentii was 82.59% and that of Quercus variabilis 62.79%. 4. Dimensional stabilization of hardwoods did not have apparant relation with PEG blending method. 5. Judging from results, PEG-400 and PEG-1000 would be enough for dimensional stabilization of hardwood having high specific gravity if other factors are considered well.

Study on the Accuracy of Distributed Model Under the Resolution Change (격자크기와 분포모형의 정확성에 관한 연구)

  • 미계측 유역에 대한 정확한 수문반응을 예측하기 위해 수문반응 모의할 때 발생하는 불확실성을 예측하고 감소시킬 필요가 있다. 이러한 불확실성은 사용가능한 자료의 질과 양에 따라 달라지므로, 자료의 해상도는 수문반응 예측에서 중요한 요소가 된다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 격자크기가 수문모형의 강우-유출응답모의에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살펴보았다. 격자크기가 입력데이터의 정보 손실을 발생시키지 않는 경우의 모형의 불확실성을 조사하기 위하여, 2차 및 3차 하천차수와 유역면적의 증가를 고려한 4가지 가상유역을 구성 하였다. 50m, 100m, 250m, 500m, 1000m의 격자를 사용하여 강우-유출모의를 수행하고, 격자에 따른 모의결과를 비교하기 위해 유출구의 수문곡선을 작성하였다. 또한, 소유역에서 하천으로 유입되는 단위길이당 유량과 하천의 합류점 전..후 및 유출구의 하천유량에 대한 Nash 계수를 산정하고 비교하였다. 기준이 된 격자크기와의 차가 큰 격자가 사용된 경우 모의된 수문반응의 차이는 증가하였고, 대상 유역의 면적이 커질수록, 하천차수가 작을수록 그 차이는 감소하였다. 소유역에서 하천으로 유입되는 단위폭당 유량의 오차는 흐름길이가 증가할수록 감소하였다. 흐름길이가 일정한 소유역으로만 구성된 가상유역 I, II에 대한 수문모의에서 하천유량의 오차는 하천을 따라 증가한 반면, 각기 다른 흐름길이의 소유역으로 구성된 가상유역 III, IV의 경우, 오차는 하천의 흐름에 따라 일정한 경향을 갖지 않고, 하천의 합류를 통해 증가되거나 감소하였다. 이 경우, 유역 유출구의 총체적 수문반응의 오차는 1차 하천의 합류후 발생한 최대오차보다 작았다.량을 산출하여 하천환경정비를 위한 기초자료로서 활용 될 수 있도록 하였다.구에 맞는 작물 생산 및 농촌관광단지 조성을 통해 부가가치증대 및 소득증대를 꾀함으로 농촌문제 해결에 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다. 본 연구를 통해 GIS 와 RS의 기술이 농촌분야에 더 효율적으로 적용될 것으로 기대되며, 농업기술센터를 통한 정보제공을 함으로써 대농민 서비스 및 농업기관의 위상이 제고 될 것으로 기대된다.여 전자파의 공간적인 가시화를 수행할 수 있었다. 본 전자파 시뮬레이션 기법이 실무에 이용될 경우, 일반인이 전자파의 분포에 대한 전문지식을 습득할 필요 없이, 검색하고자 하는 지역과 송전선, 전철 등 각종 전자파의 발생 공간 객체를 선택하여 실생활과 관련된 전자파 정보에 예측할 수 있어, 대민 환경정보 서비스 질의 개선측면에서 획기적인 계기를 마련할 것으로 사료된다.acid$(C_{18:3})$가 대부분을 차지하였다. 야생 돌복숭아 과육 중의 지방산 조성은 포화지방산이 16.74%, 단불포화지방산 17.51% 및 다불포화지방산이 65.73%의 함유 비율을 보였는데, 이 중 다불포화지방산인 n-6계 linoleic acid$(C_{18:2})$와 n-3계 linolenic acid$(C_{18:3})$가 지질 구성 총 지방산의 대부분을 차지하는 함유 비율을 나타내었다.했다. 하강하는 약 4일간의 기상변화가 자발성 기흉 발생에 영향을 미친다고 추론할 수 있었다. 향후 본 연구에서 추론된 기상변화와 기흉 발생과의 인과관계를 확인하고 좀 더 구체화하기 위한 연구가 필요할 것이다.게 이루어질 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • An AC electrical railroad system has rapidly changing dynamic single-phase load, and at a feeding substation, three-phase electric power is transformed to the paired directional single-phase electric power. There is a great difference in electrical phenomenon between the load of AC electrical railroad system and that of general power system. Electric characteristics of AC electrical railroad's trainload are changed continuously according to the traction, operating characteristic, operating schedule, track slope, etc. Because of the long feeding distance of the dynamic trainload, power quality problems such as voltage drop, voltage imbalance and harmonic distortion my also occur to AC electrical railroad system. These problems affect not only power system stability, but also power quality deterioration in AC electrical railroad system. The dynamic simulation model of AC electrical railroad system presented by PSCAD/EMTDC is modeled in this paper, andthen, it is analyzed voltage drop for AC electrical railroad system both with single-phase distributed STATCOM(Static Synchronous Compensator) installed at SP(Sectioning Post) and without.

An Analysis on the Efficiency and Productivity of Korean Rail Transit Authorities Using a Stochastic Cost Frontier Approach (A Comparison with the Estimation Results by DEA) (확률적 비용변경접근법을 이용한 도시철도 운영기관의 효율성과 생산성 분석 (자료포락분석기법을 이용한 추정결과와의 비교를 중심으로))

  • Using a stochastic cost frontier approach(SCFA), this paper annually estimates the efficiency and productivity with same data in the papers which analyze the efficiency and productivity using data envelopment analysis(DEA) to compare the results and suggest the political findings of raising the efficiency and productivity for three publicly-owned rail transit properties. the Seoul Subway Corporation (SSC), the Seoul Metropolitan Electrified Railways Sector of Korea National Railroad (SMESRS) and the Busan Urban Transit Authority (BUTA). The results show that the results of SCFA are higher than DEA for efficiency and lower for productivity in that DEA regards the stochastic error and measurement error as the inefficiency contrary to SFCA. But the political findings from these results appears to be similar as follows. First, the productivity of the three properties should be first improved by using existing technologies efficiently and then by introducing new ones. Second, the three properties should improve the technical efficiency through reducing input quantities to raise their efficiency. Finally, all the three components of the productivity such as productive efficiency change, technical change, and scale change should be considered to evaluate their productivity more correctly.

A Study on Urban Noise Visualization using 3D-GIS (3차원 GIS를 활용한 도시소음 시각화에 관한 연구)

  • The noise problem is one of the major problems associated with large cities and is considered important factor not only in maintenance but also in development of cities. Accordingly, the noise map is being increasingly used in city planning and design. However, the existing two-dimensional noise maps only show regional, planar distribution of noise. This study presented a method to build a data model for analyzing and visualizing noise levels at fine scale considering the vertical distribution of noise in a building. By expanding the 2D topology concept used in conventional GIS to 3D, it suggested a 3D GIS data model that makes 3D spatial queries, analyses and visualization possible and applied the proposed approach to building a 3D noise information system. By building and testing the system, the study showed different functionalities including 3D spatial queries and 3D visualization of noise levels varying temporally or according as the height of sound-proof walls. In each case, the population exposed to noise was quantitatively computed to illustrate the potential in the areas of city planning and design.

  • Experiments using real guided weapons for the development of the LADAR(Laser radar) are not practical. Therefore, we need computing environment that can simulate the 3D detections by LADAR. Such simulations require dealing with large sized data representing buildings and terrain over large area. And they also need the information of 3D target objects, for example, material and echo rate of building walls. However, currently used 3D models are mostly focused on visualization maintained as file-based formats and do not contain such semantic information. In this study, as a solution to these problems, a method to use a spatial DBMS and a 3D model suitable for LADAR simulation is suggested. The 3D models found in previous studies are developed to serve different purposes, thus, it is not easy to choose one among them which is optimized for LADAR simulation. In this study, 4 representative 3D models are first defined, each of which are tested for different performance scenarios. As a result, one model, "Body-Face", is selected as being the most suitable model for the simulation. Using this model, a test simulation is carried out.

Development of an Algorithm for Minimization of Passengers' Waiting Time Using Smart Card Data (교통카드 데이터를 이용한 버스 승객 대기시간 최소화 알고리즘 개발)

  • Bus headway plays an important role not only in determining the passenger waiting time and bus service quality, but also in influencing the bus operation cost and passenger demand. Previous research on headway control has considered only an hourly difference in the distribution of ridership between peak and non-peak hours. However, this approach is too simple to help manage ridership demand fluctuations in a short time scale; thus passengers' waiting cost will be generated when ridership demand exceeds the supply of bus services. Moreover, bus ridership demand varies by station location and traffic situation. To address this concern, we propose a headway control algorithm for minimizing the waiting time cost by using Smart Card data. We also provide proof of the convergence of the algorithm to the desired headway allocation using a set of preconditions of political waiting time guarantees and available fleet constraints. For model verification, the data from the No. 143 bus line in Seoul were used. The results show that the total savings in cost totaled approximately 600,000 won per day when we apply the time-value cost of waiting time. Thus, we can expect that cost savings will be more pronounced when the algorithm is applied to larger systems.
